Any symptoms? Weird, random bouts of minor heartburn right as it's time to go to bed. I take Pepcid before bed anyway because of the baby aspirin and I don't eat within 2 hours of going to bed, so I have no idea where it's coming from.
Rant/Rave? Rant: Sooooo mad about some organizational changes at work (see, below). Rave: I got to see DD this week at my appointment and she's nearly identical to DD in profile, position, and *attitude.* It made me so happy to her sweet, sassy little self.
Next appointment? 20 wk appt on 3/29 and then a referral to MFM for the 20-wk scan since I'm "elderly" :|
Questions? STM+: when did you start feeling Baby 2+ moving on a regular basis? I got confirmation that I don't have anterior placenta, so I thought I would be feeling DD by now; I felt DD1 *with* anterior by 18-ish weeks, so I thought I would have by this point.

GTKY: No, but I'm planning on it soon. Work has been beyond crazy the last 3 weeks and I just need a break from it. My birthday came and went without ANY of the usual activities and I'm pretty upset about it because I use it as an excuse to see all my friends I don't normally get to see (life is busy!) and between that and work, my social batteries are on negative-E - which is just making me even more miserable :(

Also found out that the person I despise most within my organization in the company will soon be my indirect boss. So now I'm seriously considering leaving a job I love the most (and worked almost a decade to get) because I can't work for a self-absorbed, misogynistic psychopath. Thumbs down. All. Around.

  • @mamak225 my experience with fetal movement is skewed... with the twins I started feeling some stuff around 15-16 weeks, and it just tessellated from there (the cage matches they would have were crazy). with DD2 my placenta was anterior and I think I felt a few kicks here and there after 20 weeks, but her movement was so muted I never did a full kick count and did not feel her move even daily till well into the third tri. So far with this kiddo (16w) (another anterior placenta) I feel occasional pressure but no clear movement or kicks.  I'm so sorry your B-day did not get its usual attention and that work has been so draining.

  • @wabash15 - Thank you (for your experience and consolation). With DD1 my anterior placenta was directly in front, so I could jab at her - gently - from the very side of my stomach to urge her when it was time for kick counts (that and cold water ;) ). Since I had the U/S this week, I'm not nearly as anxious, but I know I will be if DD2 doesn't start being a bit more obvious soon. I think having the anterior before, it will be a completely different sensation so it will be interesting when she does get to jabbing.

  • @MamaK225 happy belated birthday!  I’m sorry that you didn’t get to do any of your usual activities for it!

How far along are you? 15w
    Any symptoms? Heartburn a little
Rant/Rave? So glad it’s the weekend. Had my ob appt on Wednesday and everything looked good! I got to see her again and she was waving and kicking (too bad I couldn’t feel it!).
Next appointment? I have my first MFM appt in 2 weeks and then an ob appt in 3 weeks (that’s spring break so they’re letting me come in a week early). I have my first of 2 GD tests then
    Questions?

GTKY: Have you done anything recently *just for you*? (Girl's trip, spa weekend, taking off early for a pedicure, etc.) Rught now I’m lucky and do lots of stuff just for me. I guess the last big thing is the three runDisney races last weekend
  • @purplg8r - I've heard those races are so much fun ... That's awesome!! (And thank you!)

@wabash15 - That zebra will never not crack me up. Thank you!!

This week, I swear I've been sliding back into First Tri symptoms. I don't know if it's the stress or what, but: exhaustion (TBH, I haven't really experienced it yet), progesterone-based GI issues, and reflux. It better be a fluke. She's lucky I got to see her sweet face yesterday. Lol.

  • Ooooh @MamaK225 that absolutely blows about your job. I hate the thought of you having to be the one to leave when it’s your boss who’s at fault, but it’s very level headed of you to see that it’s likely not a sustainable situation :(

How far along are you? 16w 2d

Any symptoms? I’m tired and queasy today, but I’m also getting over a sinus infection so that messed with everything.

Rant/Rave? It’s totally hormonal blues but I’m feeling a little down and wish that DH would do something spontaneously nice for me, or at least take some initiative in planning anything for the household. Every single outing we do either as a couple or as a family is my idea and execution, and the mental load is wearing me down a little during this stretch. And so far this calendar year I’ve had one (1) dinner meal a) out of the house b) without our rambunctious toddler (I HAVE had chaotic meals out with DD, or non-toddler dinners at home after she’s gone to bed), but have been shot down recently when I’ve suggested dinner out (DH travels and dines out constantly for work so I definitely get his stay-home instinct).

Next appointment? Regular OB in a couple of weeks, so nothing exciting there!

Questions? It seems like everyone is different with feeling movement, even aside from placenta location, so stay strong @MamaK225! I’ve admittedly been feeling movement for a while, not super constant but a real distinct kick at 15w exactly, and then a sustained period of swirling movement at 15w2d, even though my placenta is anterior. At 16w it’s still sporadic but I think I feel something every day.

GTKY: Have you done anything recently *just for you*? (Girl's trip, spa weekend, taking off early for a pedicure, etc.)

I’m very overdue so I’ll be doing something at the end of this week. My Thursday afternoon is randomly open from work, so I’m either going to book a prenatal massage at a nearby resort and spend the afternoon there (alone, while DD is with my usual work-time childcare), or pack her up and take her overnight a couple of hours away to a spa-resort in Napa Valley with a big warm hot-springs pool. Option 1 is shorter but fully alone-indulgent, Option 2 is longer and more exotic but hands-on w DD (and involves a lot of driving) so I need to think about what’s better for right now.

@cato99 - I totally feel you on the "please just do one thing so I don't have to - and make it nice" vibe you're sending out to DH. I find it frustrating that mine can manage the in's and out's of 15,000+ employees, but can't be bothered to text the babysitter to plan a random Wednesday dinner out for just the two of us. Toddlers are oh-so-sweet, but oh-so-draining ... even when DD1 is being an angel, it's still stressful to go out to dinner with her because I'm the one who always ends up shoveling a cold meal in my face while everyone else has already eaten and is enjoying whatever (an after dinner drink or a Kindle tablet game). [insert eye roll] Sending out some strong juju your way, hoping he gets the cosmic hint ;)

AFM, I did get a cute little roll this morning around 5a, so that was nice, but that's about all I've gotten since I had some rumbles several weeks ago. But I'll take it. Heck, I'm so excited about it, I'm even going to have some of my Boston Creme Pie birthday cake that my sweet co-workers got me last Wednesday (since I didn't know when/if I'd be selected for a jury) for breakfast. Hoping to start this week out on the right foot! <3

ETA: I spent over a decade in the food service industry, the cake has been in my office fridge since the moment after we first cut into it. (in case anyone was wondering)

  • @MamaK225 sorry your birthday wasn't all you were hoping for. Glad you're getting to enjoy some your cake!
@cato99 I hope your DH picks up on your hints. I don't have a toddler, but if I were choosing between your two options, I would probably go with the nearby resort, so you can actually relax and take the time just for you.

How far along are you? 15+4

GTKY: Have you done anything recently *just for you*? (Girl's trip, spa weekend, taking off early for a pedicure, etc.)  um, no, well not exactly. but I do take some time every day to just read my emails that I'm actually interested in or catch up on a TV show or read a chapter of a book.
