Re: Fit Friday 3/1

  • Yoga for me. I was a daily yoga practice person pre-pregnancy so I’ve just kept it up. I’m not doing prenatal yet as my doctor said I was fine to do regular in the first trimester at least. So just normal yoga that I modify occasionally for deep twists or back bends. I’m down to only about five times/week though - haven’t quite been up to it every day!

  • When I feel up to it I've been doing barre. I was doing that 5 days a week prior to getting pregnant. Hoping to get back to 3/4 days once I'm feeling better.

I was packing in as many fruits and vegetables as I could the first few weeks. Now I'm in nausea survival mode, but will return to that diet once things settle down.
  • I'm doing barrè once a week right now although hoping to bump it up to 2/3 times a week soon. Trying to continue to eat healthy and limit my carbs!
  • I’ve been fortunate to keep up with my regular routine (with the exception of hot yoga-I miss it)! I’ll alternate 3-4 days for upper and lower body with weights, and will also throw in a few cardio only days 2-3 times per week. I just make sure to listen to my body and not push it. Sometimes cardio or just a long walk sound good to me, so that’s what I do!
  • I do HIIT classes twice a week, a weightlifting class once per week, a spin class once per week, and then either cardio or weights the other days.  With my other two pregnancies I stopped running around 16 weeks because it got uncomfortable so I’ll probably focus on running for now until I can’t anymore.
  • You can do it!!! Don’t feel bad-there have definitely been days where I do nothing and just want pizza haha. Just do the best you can 🤗

@elle-0409 I might switch once my bump “pops” though I’m not sure I’ll ever fully switch to just prenatal. I have a few yoga buddies who just eased off of certain moves and poses as they got bigger but otherwise did regular yoga all the way through. I tried prenatal and while it was super relaxing I just didn’t find it to be much of a workout, so I may go that route too!
