Re: 3rd Trimester Check-in | w/o Feb. 25th

  • How far along / EDD? 35 weeks 4 days

How is everyone feeling this week? Pretty good. It's my last week at work before leave starts, so no complaints!

Any upcoming appointments? Weekly appt this Friday with new doctor. Believe this appt will include the GB swab, etc. Will set a date for induction, unless she has other ideas.

GTKY: Any crazy 3rd tri cravings or new physical things happening?  Cravings: My boss got me a chocolate fudge cake for my bday...that was a craving / weakness all weekend. Physically, a hot mess lol Lots of foot swelling happening more often and the middle of my back hurts like no other. From what I've read, baby is pushing on ribs and causing a pinched nerve of some sorts.

  • @kristimh80 thanks for always getting this going! So exciting that your leave starts next week. I feel like I am such a sporadic poster here, I'm good about the Monday check-ins and then I never follow up. But I hope everyone is doing well and things are going smoothly. :)
    • How far along / EDD? 35 weeks 3 days today. March 29.
    • How is everyone feeling this week? Feeling pretty good! Stressing a bit about getting things done at work before I leave, and getting really annoyed with my Daisy co-leader (such a random problem to have but I'm at the point of pregnancy where I just don't have time to deal with her crazy lol). But otherwise, good.
    • Any upcoming appointments? Thursday - NST and then OB visit. Pretty sure it's my first 3rd-tri internal exam and will include the GB swab. I plan to ask if they've gotten my surgical records from my first c-section yet, because I know the team was waiting to get that before we discussed VBAC/what would be a good plan.
    • GTKY: Any crazy 3rd tri cravings or new physical things happening? No cravings. Physical, just the heartburn is still going crazy, blah. And my back definitely hurts more, and the hip pain at night is worse... also I'm at the point where I can't really bend over to get my shoes on so I've had to get creative with how I do that hahaha. I'm sure I look hilarious trying to get my footwear on!
    • Don't forget about HDBD or PIP your nursery! Nursery is still a hot mess. We found all of the crib except the screws/hardware so it's ummmm just in a pile on the nursery floor. Hopefully we'll sort that out this week??

  • How far along / EDD? 35 weeks

How is everyone feeling this week? Pretty good. Tired and heavy but nothing too bad. 3 more weeks of work for me.

Any upcoming appointments? OB appt next Mon (with GBS test) and then it's weekly appointments until the end!

GTKY: Any crazy 3rd tri cravings or new physical things happening? I have a weird pulling sensation in my feet?? It feels like I'm about to pull a tendon or something, usually when I'm first taking a step after sitting/lying for a while. I figure it's relaxin-related. Feels so weird!  Cravings: sugar sugar sugar

@kristimh80 sorry about the back pain! sounds very uncomfortable

@scikap Sorry about your foot pain! I've had foot issues all pregnancy, usually flexing / stretching your feet during that will help a lot.

  • @uterusdreams chuckling about your Daisy co-leader problems because I'm having the same issue. I'm head of a Brownie group and I'm having the worst time trying to hand off responsibilities to the other leaders. Next week is my last week and after that it's out of my hands!

  • @scikap It's good to know someone feels my pain (even though I wish neither of us did!). I will say we balance each other well, I think, but she's like FULL ON PINTEREST leader doesn't work, so Daisies is like her job (I'm not labeling her, she has said that), whereas I work full time and sort of stick with the Girl Scout council's "suggested meeting plans" - and I am so not judging her but we split up the meetings and take turns doing them and when it's my turn she's always nosing in and sort of suggesting that we should make it more than what I'm making it and I'm like, back off, dude, I got this. I don't think she means to imply that I'm not good at it, but she's just so enthusiastic that it's a bit overwhelming. I'm planning to step down as co-leader for next year just because I can't commit to it at this point, but if my daughter wants to stay with it I'll gladly still go to meetings and maybe volunteer to be cookie mom - but I'm dreading actually telling my co-leader because I have no idea how she'll react.

@mbradfo2 I will say that Daisies has been a good experience overall for my 7 year old daughter, but the leader stress is ridiculous sometimes!!

@kristimh80 I hope your back pain gets better. I have back pain that comes and goes and can't seem to figure out what makes it better - I'm trying to walk around more but then after I do that I sit down and it comes screaming back. Ick.

  • @uterusdreams Awe I hate you are dealing with it too! I feel like only certain sitting positions help and they usually aren't the best for you posture lol I may break down and get another massage in the next week or so, but have a feeling it's a pinched nerve due to baby so maybe pointless.

    • How far along / EDD? 36 weeks/ only 2.5 weeks till c-section
    • How is everyone feeling this week? Pretty miserable I have to say. But I don't know if I rather stay uncomfortably pregnant or have 2 kids. lol. My feet started swelling as well which I don't like. I didn't have this problem with my first pregnancy. Chasing a crazy toddler around in this condition just makes me more uncomfortable. I just want to lay in bed until delivery.
    • Any upcoming appointments? I had my GB test and passed. Next appt is regular obgyn tomorrow.
    • GTKY: Any crazy 3rd tri cravings or new physical things happening? cravings for me are still sweet stuff. Physical things? oh god, so yesterday was my last day at work--I went to check out the new Godiva cafe for coffee at Penn Station--I'm ordering coffee, and feel a slight gush--I thought my water broke but it was just grossness leaking out. ugh. I had a hard time keeping my order straight and paying, not knowing what's going on. at least I don't have to go in anymore until JULY!!!! Still working from home though.
    • Don't forget about HDBD or PIP your nursery!
  • @Drove2u Yay for no more commuting to work and passing your GB test! Welcome to the lovely swollen feet club! You're lucky it's just now hitting you, but I'm sure chasing a toddler around doesn't help anything right now either lol

Now work is complete, I'm looking forward to finish nesting & cleaning house next week. My dream is not to have to be out of my sweatpants if I can help it  :D

  • @Drove2u so glad you get to work from home now, that's so great!! And I hear you on the random grossness. And I forgot to mention in my original comment that I am also dealing with hemorrhoids. Ughhhhhhhhhh. So yeah, feeling pretty gross in general over here!

  • @uterusdreams Poor thing! The joys of the end of pregnancy!!
March is tomorrow, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel! :)

    • How far along? EDD?  Today, I am 36 + 1, EDD 3/27
    • How is everyone feeling this week?  This week was a stressful one.  I started having itching on my feet at 35 weeks, which spread to all over my body and my doctor worked me up for pregnancy induced cholestasis, put me on Ursodial as a precaution until my blood work came back.  My OB told me if I didn't take the medication, that I could potentially lose the baby and would need to be induced at 36 weeks (yesterday).  After that scare, my labs came back normal and they just told me to take Benadryl for the itching.  Itching did subside, somewhat.  With all the emotions running high this week, I thought it would come down, but I am so anxious!  Work told me I need to just relax and not come in but I feel ansy?  I wonder if this is what "nesting" feels like.
    • Any upcoming appointments?  My next appointment is next Wednesday when I will be 37 weeks.
    • GTKY: Any crazy 3rd tri cravings or new physical things happening?  So far, cookies, cake, and froyo.
    • Don't forget about HDBD or PIP your nursery!  *Nursery is sooo not done haha.

  • @bebesparrow HI there! It's good to see you around again! So sorry for the scare you've had to endure lately! I'm glad it sounds like it's all under control now and you'll need nothing more then benadryl! Hopefully it doesn't make you fall asleep all the time like me lol

  • @bebesparrow Hopefully you'll get another one soon! I wasn't expecting this one, but makes sense you'd get one closer to the due date. I am ready...mainly just doing little things now. MH agreed to make an extra room into a playroom since we never use it, so hoping to get that going before she arrives.

  • Sorry I missed checking in this week!  @uterusdreams I am also a Daisy Leader (and cookie mom). The things we do for our kids.

@kristimh80 I have a scan this week to see how big my lo is currently and I am only at 30 weeks.  I am hoping even with my GD he will not get too big.
  • @kristimh80 wow!  I think they gain .5lb/week til the end.. is that right?  I do know they overestimated at my scan.  But it can be over or under - it’s hard to estimate the further you get.

  • @mayflower513 For sure! So they are doing scans this week and next to double check everything. In my mind...my sono tech wasn't the best since she was all over the place lol But I told my dr, what ever is the easiest and safest is the route I want to go. :)

  • @kristimh80 just an FYI late term US can be off by more than a pound in terms of weight estimates. when I was 37 weeks with my  twins they estimated that A was 7lbs 10oz and B was 8lbs 4oz... in actuality when they were born 3 days later A was 6lbs 10oz and B was 6lbs 5oz....
