Any appointments? Tomorrow, then going bi-weekly 😬

    Questions?  - -

Rants/Raves?  I'm over winter.  I feel more caged in/trapped this year with a toddler than I did last year with an infant.  Doesn't help that he has been sick pretty much since Thanksgiving.

How are you feeling?  Tired...huge...emotional...pretty much just done.

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week?  A lot.  Sorted clothes, bought paint (we're way behind) and started moving furniture. Hope to order a few decorations this week.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up?  A history teacher.  I started my degree but then switched to Public Administration/Political Science.  Shocking, I never ended up finding a job in my field.

Any appointments? Questions? I had a BPP this morning. They're doing them twice a week now starting today because of gestational hypertension, so I'll go back on Thursday and then basically every Monday and Thursday until I deliver. Baby got 8/8 today so as long as she keeps getting those scores and I'm able to keep my blood pressure under control with meds, I should be able to go until week 39.

Rants/Raves? I was told today that baby is now transverse. She's been head-down for at least the last month and a half, and NOW she wants to lay sideways? Not helpful, kid! Doc says that they don't get overly concerned unless she's still transverse at 36 weeks, so she's got a little time to move head-down again. But I swear, if it's not one thing it's another.

How are you feeling? Generally exhausted and sore, but right now I'm attributing that more to the crazy couple of weeks I've had at work than anything pregnancy-related. Also managed to somehow injure my foot during the childcare conference I was managing on Saturday. My doc today sent me for an x-ray because she didn't like the look of it and wanted to rule out a stress fracture, but insurance wasn't going to cover it (maybe because the order was coming from an OB and not my primary care physician or something? idk) so I decided to see if it heals on its own and if it's still bothering me later on I'll get it checked out more thoroughly. Chances are I just overdid it on Saturday while wearing shoes that aren't as supportive as they should have been.

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Not a dang thing. I've barely had a chance to catch my breath with conference prep. So glad it's over and I can focus on baby prep again.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to be a writer/published author. It's still on my bucket list to publish a novel.

  • Due date:  4/16/19

Any appointments? Questions? Surprisingly no appointments this week. We have an ultrasound next Tuesday.

Rants/Raves? Rant- I'm feeling very over it... I wish I ad some kind of time machine to fast forward to a time when it's safe for him to arrive and then we can get this party started. Raves- My husband and FIL painted the nursery this weekend and I'm sooooooo happy about it. It came out so well and now I can finally start moving the boxes of baby stuff into the room and out of our office!

How are you feeling? Like I have so much to do and all I have the energy for is sitting on the couch. Seriously, all I have the energy for is sitting. I'm about to go grocery shopping and know that after that I'll be done for the day. Just done. Even showering takes all the energy I have left. I've been off of work for over a week because of school vacation, so I'm wondering how I'll do working tomorrow... hopefully I can still swing it!!!

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Like I said above, my hubby painted the nursery with his dad. He also moved a ton of baby furniture into that room (excluding the crib, which will be in our room initially). I just put up the curtains and we did some prep for my shower in a couple of weeks. Oh! and my in-laws got us the car seat and one base for each car. My husband strapped a teddy bear in, so at least he knows what he's doing. I'll have no clue, but like I said I physically have NO ENERGY.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up? Everything. I wanted to be a vet, a construction worker, an artist, a teacher, a psychologist, a beautician, etc.

  • Due date: 4/21

Any appointments? Questions? Growth scan next week.

Rants/Raves? Moved the antique crib/bassinet into our bedroom, figured out how to position it, and love it! Rant: I can’t believe I got talked into having a baby shower at 34 weeks! Regardless of how “normal” it is. I have very few supplies and really hope this guy stays in until at least 39 weeks so I have time to prep everything.

How are you feeling? Felt terrible yesterday but otherwise feeling pretty good for how far along I am. Slowly getting more tired and having more indigestion and general pain in the pelvic region, as well as muscle weakness.

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Moved the crib, figured out how to use our cloth diapers, sorted through fabric that’s in his closet, etc.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up? A vet, a doctor, and a writer at various points. Dropped out of my fiction mfa to have my farm, and now do plenty of vet work :) but I do sometimes get jealous of the resources our large animal vet has with regards to new research, tech, and a community to share ideas in.

    Any appointments? Questions? Nope

Rants/Raves? Rant: Still haven't moved. Considering the original move-in date given was Feb 1 and the likelihood that this kid will come early, you can probably guess how I feel about the whole situation.

How are you feeling? Pregnant, haha. I feel like I turned massive over the weekend and am incapable of anything anymore. Not sure how I will find the energy to unpack everything if we do ever end up moving (pretty skeptical at this point).

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Went through all our boxes and got out everything I needed for a hospital bag, (so maybe I can move in there for a place to live at least, haha). I cannot get over how tiny DD used to be with those little newborn clothes!

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher, and that's what I ended up being =)

  • Due date: 4/18

Any appointments? Questions?  Had an NST today, regular biweekly ob appt tomorrow

Rants/Raves? Tired of feeling like a pathetic, lesser version of myself

How are you feeling?  Sciatic pain, pelvic pain and pressure, and suddenly very hormonal which has made me both more irritable and emotional

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week?  I actually washed and Konmari folded baby's clothes up to 6m size

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up?

Author/writer. Never in a million years would I have thought my actual career would take the direction it did

  • @sheknows6 I’ve been known to find a source that grandparents will trust and send a link to say “safety standards have changed, please stfu”
  • @harveyisaboysname I'm with you. There doesn't seem to be any info. The most I've gotten is that depending on how much scar tissue you have, you'll have a 50/50 shot (though that info is from my plastic surgeon, not anyone in the OBS world). From what I gather, you basically won't know unless you end up not being able to produce / express (aka, when the baby is already here). I know that's not a TON of info, but always happy to lend an ear if you need a sounding board!
  • @honey_suckle so jealous of your warm weather!! I'm so ready to be able to enjoy being outside... But we are still expecting snow in the near future. 😭

    Due date: 4-16

Any appointments? Questions? Next Thursday, I think.

Rants/Raves? Rave: I survived my last day of work!! It was a long 12 hour day... So I was exhausted. But I'm done! I slept in today, which was glorious, and I get to start on some fun projects! So I'm feeling semi-spoiled

Rant: DH told me yesterday that his job is going to send him back out of the country again on Monday. He will be there for 2-3 weeks... I'm TERRIFIED because of the very recent and very violent civil unrest in this country... He reassured me that they wouldn't let him go if it weren't safe, but still. I'm so crazy nervous about it.

How are you feeling? HUGE. I had at least 3 people ask me yesterday "wow, you must be due really soon, right?" Um no, still have a month an a half. Annoying.

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? This week I plan to get the nursery organized and start making LO's blessing dress. I'm making it out of my wedding dress, so I'm pretty excited about that.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up? Allllll the things. President, doctor, singer, author, fashion designer. I had big big dreams as a kid 😂

  • @frenchfrymama So sorry to hear DH will be out of town, that's so tough! My DH was in Africa for 5 weeks during trimester 2 and after a while I needed lots of family support.  Hoping you have a good community to check in on you and encourage you while he's gone! Praying that he arrives back swiftly and safely.
  • Thank you @sleepydaze! We just moved to a new place and haven't really met many people yet, but we have super supportive family that are about an hour away, so I'm sure I will be okay ☺️
  • Due date: April 16

Any appointments? Questions? So I was in a pretty bad car accident last week (see “Braxton Hicks and trips to labor and delivery” thread for full details) and broke my ankle. As a result my “appointments” this week: Monday I met with my orthopedic surgeon, on the way home I started having contractions and the persisted for over six hours with no sign of stopping, checked into L&D triage found out I was dehydrated and IV fluids stopped the contractions, Tuesday I had surgery on my ankle. Friday I will follow up with my OB.

Rants/Raves? Rave: I am so, so, so thankful that LO is okay. There were two hours of terror between the accident and hearing a healthy heartbeat on the fetal monitors. I don’t know that I would have ever forgiven myself if my mistake had hurt (or worse) LO. Rant: DH has been an awesome support and I literally rely on him for everything, but now he has come down with man flu and is increasingly useless. It is so frustrating especially since he can take whatever medication he wants but he doesn’t and the complains about his symptoms. I’m like dude no sympathy from me. I literally just came out of surgery and couldn’t take enough pain meds to reduce the pain to a tolerable level because I was pregnant. Sorry, not sorry you have a cold. Take your damn cough syrup and stop whining.

How are you feeling? I’m in a lot of pain. My ankle hurts of course but I also have bruises all over my body from the accident. My chest hurts every time I breathe in. Now add that on top of my pregnancy symptoms. I can’t put any weight on my left leg but even before the accident I could hardly lift my leg to put pants on. Now I have to lift a heavy cast while balancing on my right leg. This really irritates my already inflamed pubic bone and standing even for a few seconds is excruciatingly painful. As a result I do not get off the couch for anything other than using the toilet (which of course is all the time!).

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Nope other than to continue gestating. I have a ton of projects on my to do list and it kills me that I can’t do any of them! I am finding an increased connection to this LO since I am forced to spend all day on the couch feeling the baby move. So thankful that LO is okay.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher and then an actor.

    Any appointments? Questions?

Next apt is next Friday and then they will be every 2 weeks

    Rants/Raves?

3 more weeks of work!! I literally cannot wait to be done with my stressful, crazy job. I'm so looking forward to  just focusing on myself and preparing for baby girl!

    How are you feeling?

Pretty good- just exhausted and peeing constantly lol. I can no longer make the 1.5 hour drive to work without stopping to pee...ugh

Did you do anything to prep for baby this week?

I'm officially done washing all her clothes and organizing them in drawer dividers. The nursery is quite a mess because the closet is still packed with tools that DH needs to move...so I'm just 'patiently' waiting for this to be done!

GTKY: What did you want to be when you grew up?

I definitely wanted to work with animals. I ended up being a social worker. Looking at a possible career change after baby, so we'll see!

  • @eli_belle I’m so sorry. Hopefully recovery gets better. Rest sounds like the name of the game, even though that’s probably difficult right now. And I feel the same about DH. He’ll complain about a headache or nasal issue and I’m like did you take anything? No? Oh well then do that and then stfu dude. Lol.
    this is my backup acct.

  • @eli_belle time for DH to learn to suck it up. Seriously. I hope you get to feeling better and can get some rest.

@sunny_native14 I'm a social worker too! What field are you in? (have we talked about this before?)
  • @eli_belle that sounds absolutely horrible, I’m so sorry! It would be bad enough but with all the pregnancy crap added on, I can’t even imagine it. Glad you can use the time to connect with LO.
