Any appointments? Questions? Tomorrow morning to discuss the results of my growth scan and any follow up planning.
Rants/Raves? Another week down. Is it April yet?
How are you feeling? So damn tired. And huge.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Got some of the stuff from my friend and started going through it. Need to pick up the rest and start working on cleaning out space and sorting clothes.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? DH was working a year ago, and we were better off financially. But things weren’t actually vastly different. We were just starting to kick around the idea of ttc #2.
this is my backup acct. prevously helloblueeyes
Me:32 DH:33 Married:04/2012 DD:07/2014 BFP 8/14/2018 #2 due 4/18/2019
Any appointments? Questions? Had one this morning! Got to hear little man's heart beat. The NP said that he's measuring right-on-track and when I double checked if I needed an ultrasound because of my GD she winked at me and said she'd say he's measuring large so I can see his face.
Rants/Raves? nothing to rant about. Trying to stay optimististic and calm as this pregnancy moves ahead.
How are you feeling? I've been letting myself be sad as my folks prepare to let the family dog move on to doggy heaven. I lost my grandmother last month, so the tears come and go. Think good thoughts as we say goodbye to this sweet girl.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Lots of cleaning and clearing out the nursery.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago?
A year ago would have been February 2018.... According to my phone's photo album, I lived in a different house, had a different job, and drank a hell of a lot more beer. In fact, last February we made beer with my folks from scratch and drank it for the rest of the winter. I miss beer . Soon enough, I guess!!
Any appointments? Questions? Nothing this week It's nice to have a break, I feel like I live at the doctor's office.
Rants/Raves? Rave: we finally got everything in our nursery done, and I finished getting all my loose paperwork organized. All her newborn to 3 month clothes and blankets are washed and put away/ready to go; it feels really good to be prepared for this LO. All I have left to do is pack my hospital bag in a few weeks.
How are you feeling? Big, tired, heartburn, and I live in the bathroom. She has taken up residence in my right ribcage the last three days and I'm not thrilled, it's painful! I'm hoping she settles more towards the middle over the next few days or at least takes the hint from my constantly pushing her ass out of my side
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Yep, in my rave above. If I can manage to get the remaining quarter round down this weekend like I promised I would, we will have all our home projects wrapped up!
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Very different in that DH and I were not married yet and we had just moved in together; also I was working in a different place that was absolutely toxic. Now we're married and expecting our first baby, and even though I'm contracting, I'm completely happy to be in a better environment every day so I'd say it's totally different now but in a good way.
Any appointments? Questions? Had one today, so far my GD is sorta under control. Dating u/s in two weeks!
Rants/Raves? Really great appointment today. Rant, my mom is about to send me over the edge. I’m going to have to rethink this whole thing where she visits after the baby is born.
How are you feeling? Still feeling good most days, GD diet keeps the heartburn away and mysteriously my leg cramps have gotten better. Getting a little more tired every day, though.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Still just decluttering the house, and also got all the emails and addresses for the shower invites. Now to figure out who to send which to, and address envelopes!
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Kind of the same, weirdly. We had just given up TTGP on our own and had gone to an RE to start that process. Our house was still partially torn up, and I had a ton more livestock.
@kayceebaby1 so sorry about the family dog she is beautiful. My grandmother was in the hospital when my childhood dog died in my arms, and at the time I thought I might lose them both; it was really a rough time. Can’t imagine what you’re going through.
Any appointments? Questions? I have my 32-week appointment, growth scan and biophysical profile this Thursday. After this week, I'll start having bpp's twice a week. That kind of took me by surprise when I looked at my upcoming appointment schedule -- when the doc said I'd be having them biweekly I was thinking every other week.
Rants/Raves? Rant: without going into too much detail (there's no time), I absolutely hate my job. The office is a toxic environment and I'm always so stressed out. I'm so over it and I want so badly to quit but I can't until I have something else lined up. Which I can't really do until after maternity leave, because who would hire me when I'm just a few weeks from giving birth? So I'll be over here trying to keep my sanity intact and not end up in tears everyday until then (so far it's not working out so well).
How are you feeling? Exhausted. Sore. Stressed out. Emotionally, mentally, and physically drained.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Over the weekend, I washed and sorted 4 big bags of baby clothes and linens and started organizing the nursery. Wish I was a little further along in my baby prep, but my energy is zapped right now.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Pretty much exactly the same, other than being pregnant and DD1 now playing soccer.
@sheepshepherdess thanks for your kind words My grandmother loved this dog (especially feeding her illicit table scraps) and I have a picture of my 80 lb lap dog on my tiny grandmother's lap in my head. I think they're meant to be together at this time... doesn't make it easier, but it's a nice thought!
We had several appointments yesterday to check that the babies are growing and have good blood flow. All looked great and the smaller one had even caught up a bit in terms of growing. It also got decided that we will have a delivery planning once I'm in week 35 abd hopefully twin one will have turned head down by then.
Rants/Raves?
We're already having some spring weather and flowers starting to bloom in the parks which makes me really long for pushing that double stroller through the park soooon.
How are you feeling?
My body is not really cooperating with anything right now, just growing a big belly and hurting as soon as I do anything but lay in the sofa. Couch potato is the permanent state now.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? We have pretty much finished all the baby laundry now and filled up drawers with baby clothes. Still have some paintings to hang, but feeling pretty ready to go.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? This is a difficult one for me, because this week marks exactly one year since I found out our first pregnancy was over. I had only gotten to week 8 but it was still a very traumatic time, especially since it didn't come out by itself and it was a few very painful weeks. Feeling grateful that this spring is more filled with hope and excitement instead of grief and misery.
@kayceebaby1 I'm sorry to hear about your dog! I hope you get to have some nice moments together still.
@sheepshepherdess I hear you on the mom front. I'm trying to deal as best I can with just phone contact, but mine keeps saying things that tick me off and then proceed to complain about how she can't say anything without me acting crazy or misinterpreting 🙄.
@chrissdee that sucks about your job! I really hope you find something better after maternity leave. Until then, stay strong ❤️
Any appointments? Questions? This week I begin weekly appointments.
Rants/Raves? Rave: DD constantly asks about the baby and talks about him. I love it and it melts my heart. Rant: Getting on the floor to play with DD for longer than 5 minutes hurts all over. Those with other kids, how are you managing this?
How are you feeling? Tired, sore, hip pain, swollen ankles. Pregnant, basically.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Packed what I could of my hospital bag, got the carseat ready, hung a sign in his room, made a couple freezer meals. I'm trying to do just a little bit every week.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Almost everything was the same except for this little one. *tw* We had been TTC after a m/c for 6 months and were feeling pretty defeated (had been TTC for a year almost a year at that point).
Any appointments? Questions? Appointment this afternoon! Filling out the paperwork to start maternity leave! Only 4 weeks of work left!!
Rants/Raves? I had a terrible sinus infection last week. I was out of town and couldn't get a hold of my doctor. I know they gave me a list of "safe" medication at my first appointment SIX MONTHS AGO but I didn't remember what was on the list. I tried to ask a local pharmacist and they were just covering their butts and told me I could only take "tylenol and herbal tea." Finally ended up in urgent care and that doctor told me just to do a saline rinse. GAHH!!! I get it, but seriously the way we treat pregnant women is ridiculous. Finally had DH call my OB non-stop until he got a hold of someone and my doc was like sudafed, mucinex, claritin are all totally fine. FINALLY got some relief but seriously dude would have been nice like 72 hours earlier. /rant
How are you feeling? I have reached what I am calling my inflection point. My ribs are now indents in my side rather than protrusions, lol. But seriously though any type of bending at the waist is incredibly difficult. It takes me forever to put on pants/socks. Bend to put on one pant leg, cue BH contraction. Pause, wait for contraction to pass. Lift other leg to step into pants. Repeat. Counting down the days until I no longer need to put on pants everyday.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Unpacked the new ceiling fan for the nursery to figure out how to install it but we were in the process of washing like 100 loads of laundry and couldn't just turn off the power. It is all prepped and ready to put in when the time comes.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? This time last year we were frantically house shopping. We found out abruptly that we had to move out at the end of our lease (owners were moving back in). DH and I decided that we never wanted to do that again so we decided to buy. It was a whirlwind of a few months, but now it is all behind us and we have a great house. So glad to be settled in our new place. I was just thinking about it this morning how thankful I am to be where we are and getting ready to welcome a new little one.
@honey_suckle sorry you’re dealing with your loss anniversary. I remember feeling so grateful to be holding and snuggling with DD when mine came around. It helps. But I hope you can take some time to take care of yourself this week.
Any appointments? Questions? Just a regular midwife appt
Rants/Raves? Rave and rant: the doc at last week's ultrasound said that I wasn't showing any signs of baby coming soon or of my cervix length changing in a month so he thinks it's just the way I am and baby will come around term (yay!!!! What a relief). However I do hesitate a bit to take his words fully to heart since he wasn't very involved at my appt; a res student did the ultrasound while he did his own thing and when they did the vaginal ultrasound, the res student (doing it for the first time!) took less than a minute to measure whereas the other doc last week was very thorough and made sure she wasn't touching, and therefore altering, the cervical length which she showed me is very easy to do. They didn't even know I had a csection till the end of the appt so it's hard to take them entirely at their word about baby being on time (why didn't they look at my file or ask about previous pregnancy issues?), especially since every other health professional has said "DD came at 36w5d so next one could very well be early" and he was more like "well DD was basically on time".
How are you feeling? Better! I finally had a normal sleep, first time in 3 to 4 weeks.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Insisted that we move this upcoming weekend since DH was trying to say we had to wait till next weekend. Nope. I am not living in my hoarder mom's house any longer (it's now been a month, was supposed to be 3-4 days) while all the newborn stuff sits packed and unwashed at our new place. He agreed that this place is stressing me out so we are gonna move this weekend after all, even if it's a bit of a push to do it.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Living in a different place, DD still in a rough baby phase for many more months to come, still pumping day and night to feed her. I feel like I connect with her way better now that her sleep and eating is settled and i can really enjoy being her mom!
Big hugs @kayceebaby1. Loss seems even worse when pregnant IMO. @sheknows6 seems like a lot of good changes for you in the past year @chrissdee sorry for the crappy work environment. That's tough. @honey_suckle I'm sorry about the loss anniversary, but I am happy that all is looking well with your boys. @mrstmoose I really admire you for still getting down to play with her. I'm exclusively in "play on the couch" mode these days. @eli_belle I have been living in my robe at home. I'm very much over pants these days.
Any appointments? Questions? Ohhhh so many appointments. Mondays - Ultrasounds/BPPs, Tuesdays - OB appointments, Thursdays or Fridays - NSTs
Rants/Raves? Rant: DS gave me an insane cold that ended up dehydrated me enough to kick start contractions. Rave: I really appreciate that my boss/workplace is understanding. I got to work yesterday and my boss looked at how miserable I was and sent me home. It's good that she cares more about employee well-being than productivity some days.
How are you feeling? I think I've hit my wall. I wake up every morning at 4 unable to go back to sleep but I'm too exhausted to get much done. Last week I started feeling like I overexerted myself the day before, but I feel like this might just be what it feels like to have 8-9lbs of baby in my uterus? DS wasn't even 7lbs when he was born, and I wasn't working, so I felt great up until the day I was induced (39+2) Now I'm 32+3 and everything feels terrible.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? I stripped, washed, and folded the Newborn diapers we have, along with all the preemie clothing and some newborn clothing. Also, my hospital bag lives in my trunk now.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Last year, we were less than two weeks away from our wedding So I was MUCH skinnier
Any appointments? Questions? Today I have another ultrasound to check baby’s size. Apparently my OB thinks he’s going to be huge. Great...
Rants/Raves? Rant: I was supposed to be part time at work from this week on. Apparently the LO’s preschool still hasn’t opened so I got a frantic text asking me to come back and watch him until the school figures it’s shit out. Rave: now I’m not sittting at home bored plus this means extra cash for unnecessary but cute baby things.
How are you feeling? Like a 90 year old woman. Everything hurts. I need help getting in and out of bed because my back and hips have gone to shit. TMI: pretty sure my mermaid purse is swollen....but I also can’t see down there so who knows
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? I cleared out a corner in my room for his bassinet and set up the dresser for his changing area. Just waiting on the changing basket.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago?
1 year ago I had just started my Esthetics program and was full of hope for my future career ( still am ) . I was positive that we were one and done because I couldn’t imagine my heart having room for more. Then DH’s friend had a baby and I spent the next few months crying because the baby fever hit so hard. Now I want 5. I need to get my shit together
@harveyisaboysname thinking good thoughts for all of our mermaid purses!!
Ok I wanted to complain and since you guys are around the same time frame maybe some of you have seen this or will see this soon.... Baby is the size of a wine bottle today? What the hell Bump! Just rub it in my face that I cannot open and drink from said bottle.
Any appointments? Questions? I had a midwife appt today! Baby has a bony butt apprenently and it took some time to determine his position bc of how hard his butt is, lol.
Rants/Raves? It was over 40 here today and like a nice preview of spring. I'm SO grateful to be having this baby in springtime. DD was a winter babe and it made my postpartum time more miserable.
How are you feeling? OK. I feel like my digestive system is all messed up right now & the gas pains/slow digestion is making me miserable. 😭
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? I'm ordering my birth kit tomorrow, which is somewhat exciting & makes things seem more real.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? Beyond being pregnant.. I feel like I've become more comfortable with myself over the past year. We've also bought a house! And started "officially" homeschooling DD.
Any appointments? Questions? Had a prenatal with my doula last night. OB and GD appointments Monday morning
Rants/Raves? It was sunny yesterday and a lovely break from the rain and snow. Looks like today’s after lunch walk will be laps through the office, which makes me feel like a crazy person, but is good for the blood sugar so 🤷♀️
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Tired. My birthday is this weekend And I plan to celebrate by leaving work early today
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? We took an infant care class last weekend.
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago? We had just decided we were ready to start a family. We had also just started our master bathroom renovation and moved into the guest room (which is now a nursery). The project ended up being way more stressful and expensive than anticipated, but it’s beautiful and I’m so glad we did it.
Rants/Raves? This Tues at my appt I'm going to beg my OB to take me off work. I wanted to work as long as I can but my body hates me
How are you feeling? Sore, achy. I feel twice a couple days ago on my hands and knees. No contractions but I don't feel great
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Not even a little bit
GTKY: How different was your life one year ago?
Very different, full time classes finishing up my degree, doing HIIT, dealing with major anxiety issues related to life and issues TTC. I was probably in my best physical shape at the time though

Ok I wanted to complain and since you guys are around the same time frame maybe some of you have seen this or will see this soon.... Baby is the size of a wine bottle today? What the hell Bump! Just rub it in my face that I cannot open and drink from said bottle.
I miss wine.
And beer...
Due date: 4/16
Any appointments? Questions? Appts every week
