Re: February Randoms

  • @emeraldcity1214 I can eat Oreos in that form and crumbled in ice cream. That's about it.  Have you ever made those things with Nutter Butters?  Amazing.
  • @rachelredhead I'll admit, my favourite way to eat oreos is in a milkshake or McFlurry. Or are those chocolate wafer log cakes a thing in the US? This is one of my favourite desserts made with Cool Whip (or real whipped cream, if you fancy) and chocolate wafer cookies. It's the best of both worlds.

  • @emeraldduchess I haven't. DH is extremely allergic to peanuts so I try to minimize PB in the house. That sounds delicious though.
  • @shamrocandroll - Amaya Peggy?

@emeraldcity1214 - what type of chocolate do you use to cover your oreo cake balls? white? dark? milk?
  • @spacemountaineer I usually use white and drizzle chocolate or sprinkle crumbs from the Oreos.
  • I may need to go out and buy the ingredients to make a batch now. 😂
  • emeraldcity1214 Right!?!?  This thread makes me want to make them ASAP!
  • I will have them for a week if I make them. I can only eat 1 or 2 at a time.
  • Kinda a random question. Has anyone had a professional massage ?
I got one yesterday at a spa and my neck is so sore I can barely move my head. Is that at all normal ? My bf is telling me he thinks it’s normal because I haven’t had one before. I don’t know if I should call the spa and put in a complaint or something. What would you do ? It was crazy expensive too which makes it even worse. I feel like I wasted money on something that caused me pain
  • @kels0091 I def need to find the cinnamon bun ones now! From my one experience with a prof massage, I was told to drink a ridiculous amount of water so that wouldn’t happen. Im sure someone smarter than me will chime in if I’m wrong.
  • @kels0091 That is not normal. I would definitely call.
  • @kels0091 I have had several professional massages.  I would say it's normal to have muscle soreness (as you would after a hard workout), but not pain.  Would you describe the pain as muscle soreness, or actual neck pain?  Because you shouldn't have severe neck pain from a massage.  Also, it's important to drink a lot of water immediately after a massage, as well.

  • @kels0091 did they do a lot of neck manipulation?
  • @kiki047 - Lol yes I heard about that. She made tons of sales! Now I need my samoas and thin mints.
  • @kiki047 that is hilarious!  I need to see if I have any girl scouts in my class so I can buy cookies.  Tagalongs are my faves, but the traditional butter ones are the best for dunking in tea.
  • @marebear15 @emeraldduchess our Girl Guides up here don't have the good cookies. We have the plain choc/vanilla or thin mints but that's it.

kels0091 So my sister is a massage therapist actually... she does a LOT of deep tissue massages, and is actually her favorite thing to do and receive.  I HATE getting a deep tissue massage because it hurts like Hades. I have a very low pain threshold and bruise easily, so I don't like it. However, in order to work the knots out correctly, you sorta gotta suck it up some.  According to her, you're supposed to feel pressure and sore if they're working out knots, and shoudl feel a lot better in a few days. Drink LOTS of water right after and don't exercise for at least a few hours after.

She said to try to go back and get a nice swedish massage the next time (which won't have as much deep tissue pressure), if you are having pain issues and don't prefer the workout feeling afterwards. If it persists you can call them and/or talk to your doctor. She said you can always call to mention it to the spa, because they can put it in your books that you had a problem, and possibly get a discount to go back and get it looked at by them. Did it hurt during the massage?  Because another possibility is that while they were working things out, something else got a little kinked and needs to be worked out? But definitely tell the therapist if you're feeling pain WHILE they're doing it... especially if the pressure is too hard!!!
  • Has anyone ever tried the copycat recipes for Samoas or Thin Mints? They don't come with Jason Momoa, but the Samoa one I tried was tasty!

  • @kbrown2385 I've never had the ones from Aldi, but I've had the Keebler version (I think they're called Coconut Dreams).

  • So no one told me about the water thing! I probably drank less then a litre since the massage which isn’t a lot! So I’m going to drink an insane amount starting now.
It was a Swedish massage. I would describe the pain as a pinch or something similar to that. It didn’t hurt during the massage but as soon as I was getting off the table I noticed the pain and it slowly progressed in the evening and overnight.

Thank you you all for the input and suggestions !
  • @b_1029 We just got home from date night and DH has no idea why I'm laughing hysterically at your update 🤣

  • @kels0091 Hope the water works and you feel better soon!

Also - you guys and your Oreos 😂😂😂. Although I have found a love for Samoa’s 😍😍😍 so at least I don’t feel so left out now haha. Honestly having Jason Momoa makes them even better - that girl is already a marketing genius lol. DH brought some home today and I’m mad because he totally knows I’m on my diet and the Brookie monster is in full force! I got a healthy recipe for Samoa donuts that I’m going to try out. I know it won’t be close but hopefully satisfies the craving! I’m going to tinker with the recipe to make crunchy cookies rather than donuts. If it’s a success I’ll post on the baking thread!
