Last pregnancy... Plus sized mom

I am not sure if this is the right place to post it if it even follows the rules, but I am looking for some ideas.

I am coming up on 36 weeks in my second pregnancy.  I am a very obese woman, people wouldn't even know I am pregnant (I try to waddle around strangers to make it obvious, but really I just look like an obese woman waddling around).

In my first pregnancy and now, I mourn the fact that I won't be the cute mom with a bump, now even more than ever because this is my last pregnancy.  Don't get me wrong, I am incredibly grateful for these healthy pregnancies and my beautiful daughter 19 months).

I am looking for ideas for what I could do for myself to remember the joy of pregnancy. For most, it's maternity photos and journaling. Maternity photos won't help me remember joy, I don't look pregnant and photos of that only remind me of that fact.  I know journaling is special for some, but I don't have interest in that.

It's just such an amazing feeling to have this thing doing cartwheels inside of my body, I love him/her so much, and this is the end of this chapter for me.  How can I make a lasting memory/moments to mark it?

Anyone have some insight?

  • I love @kayceebaby1 's ideas! Expanding on hers, maybe you could do something special with an ultrasound picture, like frame it with a quote that captures this special time.

  • I like what these ladies^ are thinking! Also, perhaps a scrapbook, shadow box, or keepsake box...something that would contain little trinkets of the pregnancy and reflect the joyous anticipation, like a photo of you shopping for/washing tiny clothes, pictures of the nursery and your favorite crafted decor, ultrasound photos, the menu of a celebratory dinner you had when you learned about this child, some decor and photos from a shower or sip and see you had for the baby, hospital wristbands, photos of your SO and daughter being excited, etc.
  • Im not a major fan of pictures so i havent done any weekly bump photos to remember this by. Like @lyse01 suggested, ive got 2 scrapbox/keepsake boxes going. One for more personal memories of this with my boyfriend and one for baby addy. When i told my boyfriend we are pregnant i put the positive test in a bag and wrote "thanks for the bomb dick, youre gonna be a dad!" Lol. I eventually put the other at home pregnancy tests in there too. I dont think Addy needs to know that exists haha. But in her box i have her sonograms, especially a 3d one of her nether regions that i intend to embarass her with later on, the swatches for the paint we chose to repaint the room the three of us will share, her baby shower invite, and pictures of her gender reveal. I plan to decorate these boxes eventually but i only get bit by the creative bug ever so often.

I'm just here trying to determine if @phoenix92885 means he has an awesome penis, or if she means the "bomb," of sperm and she's calling him a dick....  Which one, @phoenix92885?  Inquiring minds need to know!
I think a bomb of sperm would be a dick bomb as opposed to a bomb dick. @phoenix92885 please confirm.

  • @kangstadt @MRDCle aaaaahhhh guys stop making me belly laugh with BH contractions! I'm gonna pee my pants!
  • You ladies crack me up. I was thanking him for his delightful male appendage that day. haha. While also letting him know the trouble it just got us into. I cant keep secrets from him so i had to figure out a way real quick to tell him that he would look back on fondly. He was super excited about the news so i guess the compliment worked?

Agreed, @MRDCle.  There are two kinds of pregnant women... those who pee their pants and liars.
    I SWEAR I haven't peed my pants.......yet.
  • Lmao I have totally peed my pants luckily only at home cuz I couldn't get upstairs fast enough. Ok and just a little at the grocery cuz I sneezed.
@phoenix92885 I think that compliment world work on any male!
@knottie99f613ef0a208684 it took me forever to tag you! And Also I just wanted to commiserate. I'm also a plus size pregnant lady and I totally get what you're going through. I only recently started showing something I thought would never happen but even still if you didnt know you'd just think I was fat. I try not to let it bother me because at the end of the day I'll have a baby!
  • I pee if I push on my belly during a Braxton Hicks :)

As far as non-photo, non journaling methods to honor how you are feeling about pregnancy, maybe just go through your social media and make a timeline of when you posted different things, something visual and not extra writing. Or even just a timeline of when you saw baby, when you felt baby etc...
  • I think you should do photos if you wanna do photos...  pregnancy poses are very specific, it is unlikely if you do the normal pregnancy poses anyone will think "is she even pregnant?". ONLY pregnant women rub and hold their bellies in photos haha. That being said you don't HAVE to share them with anyone ... you could do them just for yourself and your family if its even been considered. I think if you work with the photographer you guys can find a few really great poses that make you feel good and "look" pregnant. Maybe you won't get a whole album but a few great shots might be just what you need. I only bring it up because you did mention it and that makes me think part of you does want to do photos, so just thought maybe a little encouragement. You can always get rid of photos... but you cant go back and take them later if you change your mind
