Why my SO is awesome 2/16

Sorry if I missed it, but I didn't see this go up this week.

Re: Why my SO is awesome 2/16

  • We have traditional Sabbath meals every Friday night, and Saturday afternoon after synagogue. It's common to invite friends from the community, and when DH and I got married we planned on trying to have company often, for various reasons we have not been so good about it, and we've compiled a rather long list of families we want to invite. So now we are trying to make our way through that list. The past 2 weeks I was feeling pretty good on Sunday, and so we invited people for the Saturday lunch meal, and then when it came time to actually cook, I felt awful, and DH ended up cooking 90% of the meals.

  • My DH has been amazing with me being so sick for so long. He never pushes me to do more than I feel up to, he has taken on so many extra duties that are usually mine around the house (with not a single complaint). No matter how his day at work goes, he comes home with a smile and does whatever we need at home.

On top of all that, sexy time has been in very short supply and he has been so patient. No complaints, no selfishness.

I feel so blessed to have him!
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • I’m feeling really tired and cranky today and DH has been letting me rest most of the day and taking care of all of the meals. I’m so lucky to have a man who cooks!
  • My family was in town over the weekend. MH is always so very patient  & welcoming- no matter the size of the tornado of my family   He helped out with the kids bc he truly enjoys time with them. Also, after everyone left yesterday, he worked on housework while I napped.
  • He does ALL the laundry and ALL the trash/recycles, and ALL of the grocery shopping, and ALL the dog walking/feeding. And lots of other things too. Man, I should step it up! : :D
  • Hes been cooking dinner 90% of the time and buying me any food item I want.
  • My husband knows that I'm SUPER uncomfortable with the idea of a Baby Shower. I don't even celebrate my birthday. I just hate expecting people to want to celebrate things and the idea of rejection makes me want to die.  Anyway, so he is organizing a "BBQ, Beer and Baby Stuff" gathering, its actually the day after my birthday for some reason.  I really appreciate his respect of my limits and I love his love and excitement for this unborn baby.
  • @agpandme I find showers excruciating as well. How nice of your DH! One of my friends had a very similar party that was exactly that--beer, bbq, and some baby presents. It was awesome and so laid back.

DH is patient beyond what anyone deserves, especially me. Last night I'd had a tough day at work, and I didn't realize how much it was bothering me until I struggled so much with bedtime routine for DS. I ended up crying about who knows what/everything and DH took it like a champ, made dinner, and  encouraged me to watch tv (we're weird and have self imposed rules about watching tv on weeknights) and basically didn't let my crazy get under his skin.
