Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after three missed miscarriages?

Hi all,

I just had my 3rd missed miscarriage. First two I lost at 8.5 weeks and found out at 10 week u/s. Recently I lost another at 7 weeks and found out at 8 week u/s. All of them ended in a d&c procedure since my body doesnt miscarry naturally. We didn't test the first and found out the second way due to triploidy. We are waiting for the test results of the third. If anyone has any success after multiple missed miscarriages that would help since its nit common and none of my personal connections have gone through this. Thank you!

I had a successful pregnancy delivered at 37 weeks last June after 15 consecutive losses, and I am currently 27ish weeks along with another.

Have you had testing done on yourself, or just the fetal tissue so far?
  • I’ve had two missed miscarriages, the first was discovered at 9w (baby measured 7+5) and the second was discovered at 14w (baby measured 9+5 but there had still been a HB at 10+4). The 2nd one was found to be a genetically normal baby so we never had any answers and all the testing on me came back normal.  I also had two chemical pregnancies between the two MMC.

I’m now 18 weeks with a healthy baby.  It’s heartbreaking having so many losses but it doesn’t mean you can never have a successful pregnancy.

  • I had a healthy baby (thank God) followed by three miscarriages. I just had the last miscarriage last week. They were all between 10 and 14 weeks and mine were also missed miscarriages. It's so difficult. I know someone who had one baby followed by four miscarriages and then another baby. I was tested and the fetus was tested and everything came back normal.
  • Nope. 5 miscarriages here. No live births.

Are you getting RPL panel testing done?  Because I know someone IRL who had 4 MCs before they had testing results, had an issue with their uterus, got it fixed, and went on to have 4 children with no issues.

However, be aware that 50-75% of RPL goes unexplained, but then they say about 60% of us that are unexplained RPL go on to have a baby with no medical intervention...

Personally I can't take anymore.. but definitely get all the information before going forward with any major decision.
  • Thank you all for the responses. I have had lots of tests done and seeing the best doctors. I have hypothyroidism that is under control and I also have 4g4g blood clotting disorder but take baby aspirin for that. They think it's bad egg quality but we really wont know if ivf or surrogate will be the answer until we find out the results from this loss.
  • I also have the PAI-1 4G/4G variant, diagnosed in my last pregnancy (LO is now 8mo) and had far better outcome when my MF specialist put me on lovenox injections rather than having me take baby aspirin.

The only downside to that really was that it required labor to be induced to control potential bleed risks, and if insurance won't cover it, it's *really* expensive (more than $800/month USD out of pocket).
