Re: PGAL Check In w/o 2/11

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 13w today!

    2. Previous loss(es)? 2MMCs 5CPs

    3. How are you feeling? less nauseous and exhausted.  My temper is still pretty short at times and everything makes me cry happy/sad/idk why I'm crying tears, but I will take it.

    4. Any appointment updates? NT test was Monday and I had the NIPT blood draw then, too.  Everything looked great at the NT (nuchal fold measured 1.5mm and the baby was measuring a couple of days ahead at 13w2d which the doctor and the tech thought was great.  They told us to expect low risk results so FX they're right.  I asked the tech if she could tell where the placenta was located--she said it looked posterior which is great news. DD's was anterior, so hopefully where this one is attached is in a place where the accreta won't reoccur. It also could mean that the flutters I'm feelin are real--which is pretty exciting! I'm still waiting for MFM to acknowledge they have my records and set up an appointment, but my Ob is fine with me staying on lovenox until I get into see someone and even offered to refill my prescription if needed!

    5. Just for fun- Where's your favorite place you've ever visited?  (I hope we haven't done this before--my memory is real bad these days).  DH and I went to Ireland right after we were engaged and it was phenomenal!  Beyond beautiful, great hiking, food, perfect weather and everyone we met was amazingly kind and interesting.  We'd both go back in a heartbeat.

  • My apologies PGAL ladies for being delinquent in getting this weeks thread started.  I was working some crazy morning shifts and my days are all mixed up.

@mwmiller4 thrilled for you that everything was normal!  That is so exciting.  Here’s to risk of MC dropping to 1%.

AFM... I am feeling much less anxious.  I got the home Doppler and finding her HB has been so reassuring.  I had my scan today and she looked like a little baby!  Brain, stomach, limbs, nose, even ears all looked great.  I feel like the scales have finally tipped from anxiety to excitement.

My my favorite place I’ve ever visited was Bali!  That was Six years ago in my single days. It was the most magical, delicious smelling country I’ve ever been. Right now my favorite place is Hawaii.  We have started a family tradition of going once a year and we all have the best time.  I can’t wait to bring our daughter there.

  • 1. How many weeks are you? somewhere between 12w4d and 14w... They keep changing my EDD. Baby will show up when he or she is ready

    2. Previous loss(es)? NMC 9w, CP 5w, MMC 9.5w

    3. How are you feeling? Less nausea, more energy. I am still moody and definitely not quite back to normal

    4. Any appointment updates? Not really. Last week on the u/s baby measured1.5 weeks ahead compared to the 2 previous ultrasounds. Curious if they will move my EDD again.

    5. Just for fun- Where's your favorite place you've ever visited? I love Belgium as a whole but Brussels was my favorite.

  • @denma2015 I hope you're back on a more normal schedule soon--I thrive on a consistent sleep schedule (i.e. am an awful human being without sleep) so I can't even imagine changing between days and nights.  I'm so glad that the doppler is helping, she's developing and that you're into the excitement phase!  <3 What island do you go to?  We to Maui for a family wedding with DD when she was 14 months and it was gorgeous!

@Allycat11 I've never made it to Belgium--I've spent time in France, Switzerland and Italy, but Brussels is definitely on my list!
  • Yay! I'm so excited for everyone!
@mwmiller4 I am also part of the emotional club haha. And I'm glad baby is growing well! Made me so happy to read your post!!

@denma2015 I'm glad the doppler is helping with the anxiety! That must have been so exciting to see her on the scan! ❤️

@Allycat11 yay for less nausea! And wow that's quite the growth spurt! How exciting!!!

    1. 11w5 d by last US size.

    2. Previous spontaneous MC in 2018 and 2015

    3. I'm.. tired of being on bed rest haha. But grateful it seems to be working. Obviously it wouldn't prevent a loss due to chromosomal defect or anything, but working theory last MC was due to the SCH. And issues with my uterus could prevent proper placenta attachment. And possible incompetent cervix? Anyway, as bored as I am, and as stiff and sore from lack of movement, and miserable about weight gain, and stressed about decreased income... It's worth it.

I'm starting to get excited. But freaking out more about every cramp and ache because my hopes are up. What's normal vs a sign of something bad...? Still checking for spotting with every wipe. But spotting free since last Tuesday! 😊 Fingers crossed.
Still nauseated. Sleeping poorly, so often tired.

    4. Next one isn't till Feb 22. Will be at 13w that day.

    5. Hmmm..I love to travel so a favourite is hard!
Pompeii, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand are my top picks at the moment haha.
  • @chillycanadian bed rest is the worst! I was so thankful when mine was lifted last week after the SCH resolved. Has your SCH been getting bigger, smaller or staying the same? It is also a total mind game with the cramping. Despite having 2 successful pregnancies in the past I still could not differentiate between normal growing pains, SCH pains and miscarriage pains.

@Allycat11 this time they haven't found a SCH. They just haven't been able to find out what's causing the bleeding. But it IS worse with exercise or movement.
Last time I had a large SCH, which was getting bigger, and every time I did a lift at work, I would bleed a lot.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who can't tell! I've never had a successful one before so I feel like I don't know what's normal. And I know I will likely have extra stretching pain due to my wonky uterus. I've kinda been going on the whole...trying not to worry as long as the pain isn't debilitating or with heavy bleeding
Easier said than done though haha
  • @chillycanadian yay for no bleeding since last Tuesday! I really hope that’s over for you and you’re off bedrest soon!
  • Thanks @mwmiller4! Me too! I know I won't be allowed back to my full job, but at least desk duty hopefully...
  • Sorry ladies, I never checked in last week because of being swamped with work.
@mwmiller4 That is so great about your NT and the placenta position! Are you finding out the sex with the NT or no?

@denma2015 I'm glad the anxiety is less and that you had a good scan! I totally feel you, work is crazy for me right now.

    @allycat11 I'm glad you're feeling less nauseus.

@chillycanadian That must be so frustrating being on bed rest, you are a trooper. I'm glad the spotting has stopped.

    1. How many weeks are you? 12w today

    2. Previous loss(es)? 4 first tri

    3. How are you feeling? Pretty good. I have RLP and it's worse if I don't stretch a lot. I started to get that PGAL anxiety, I did pretty good the first two weeks between appts and then I was like, idk if I can take not knowing for another two weeks, so I ordered a home Doppler. It came yesterday and I used it last night and I found his HB almost immediately. I had watched some videos and I also recorded a snippet of his HB and figured out the rate was about 156 BPM (I don't necessarily trust the rate on the Doppler itself) so I feel confident that is him.

    4. Any appointment updates? No more appts until 2/25. We did get good news on the NIPT, and we finally opened our envelope and found out we are having a boy.

    5. Just for fun- Where's your favorite place you've ever visited? Hmm, probably Kenya, it is like being in an issue of National Geographic. Really amazing.

  • @zamora_spin glad you're ok, but I'm sorry work has been so crazy!  Will it calm down soon?  I think I remember you saying you're in a tax related field--which sounds miserable this time of year.  Congratulations on your low risk BABY BOY!  So exciting!!

Count me in with the doppler club--I just bought one yesterday because my anxiety is getting the best of me as my symptoms go away. It should be coming today because the distribution center is just a little north of our house. I'm much more nauseous again today which is slightly reassuring but also blegh.  Happy Friday everyone!
  • @mwmiller4 Good luck with the doppler - I am glad I got mine. You probably have looked at videos and tips, but jic, I recommend watching some youtube videos. I also did have a full bladder and put a pillow under my hips/butt. I also listened to some of the other sounds like my own HB and the wooshing sounds around my abdomen to make sure I was really hearing him. I made a couple short sound clips of him using my voice memo app so I can now listen to it whenever I want, and that was also how I figured out his HR after the fact (I made a couple five second clips an counted how many beats and then multiplied that to find BPM - this also helped convince me it was really his HB because it was much faster than mine), I really don't think the doppler measures the rate right, although maybe it will be able to do so later.
  • Hi ladies, this is my first time posting in the group. Glad to see so much good news being shared!

    How many weeks? 13 today!

Previous losses? 1 MMC in Dec. 2017 at 8 weeks.

Feeling? Ok... I was super sick for a while and it seems to be learning which is a huge relief! I'm still slightly nervous about every little twinge or ache. I'm sure that will continue until I really start feeling movement. I was convinced I was feeling something but my OB isn't convinced at all!

Appointments? Just had one on Tuesday. Did the NIPT... I was told it should be covered by insurance since I'm over 35. I sure hope they're right! We saw the baby moving like a wiggle worm on the ultrasound and heard the heartbeat which is always wonderful. Next appointment is in a month but i should get the NIPT results back in a week or so.

Favorite place ever visited? If I'd ever gone to Europe I'm sure I'd say there, but since I haven't, I'm going to go with the Grand Teton National Park. We camped there on our honeymoon and it was just unreal. Grand Canyon and Glacier NP are right up there as well!
