As the first official prenatal appointments arrive, the option of prenatal testing also comes. Here’s a thread to ask questions about the different tests, discuss your thoughts if you’re undecided about doing it, and anything else related.
This will help keep all the stuff together instead of mixed up in the great question thread.

Re: The Prenatal Testing thread!
I was only offered one kind the first time, which made it easy, but the second time, I got offered three different ones 🤷🏼♀️

Assuming your doctor does not order/recommend a NIPT (I'm not AMA or high risk for anything), and thus insurance may not cover any of it, does anyone happen to know how much a NIPT would cost OOP?
for $450-500. I called them that night to set up a payment plan, and they said since I called within 30 days, CA wouldn’t allow them to bill the full amount, so they would do $200. 🤷🏼♀️
Even in the high risk category, my insurance refused to cover it because it’s “genetic testing.” (It’s a screen, not a deterministic test, but they don’t care).
