Rants/Raves: The wait until my first US is killing me! The scan is scheduled for two weeks from today, and the 26th couldn't come soon enough! Would be nice to have some reassurances in the meantime! Maybe I'll start peeing on sticks again...🤔
Symptoms: Some cramping, bloating a bit of an upset stomach, super (sensitive) nipples 😫, and got my first weird pregnancy dream this weekend (why my mom, brother, and I were killing time waiting for a flight by traveling through an Alice in Wonderland-esque portal in the Denver International Airport, where I stopped to breastfeed my as-yet-to-be-born baby I'll never know).
Questions: Has anyone had a scan at 7 weeks? Doc said we will be able to see the heartbeat, but I’m wondering what else to expect since it’s so early.
Gtky #1: No human siblings, but one adorable red and white Australian Shepherd named Atlas
Gtky #2: *TW* DH and I finally started trying (we wanted to start two years earlier, but moved and waited to get established in our new jobs) in December 2018, and got pregnant on our first try, but had a miscarriage in early January at 6 weeks. Doc gave us the go ahead to start trying again right away, and here we are! Feel incredibly lucky it's happening again so soon - just hoping this one sticks!
@galentine That is so scary I am so glad you are okay!
Clashes are going to happen, I mean we are all from different backgrounds and places. I am still super close with most of my previous BMB, but we split in half when our kids were 2/2.5ish. The "side" I ended up on still have people that aren't my "favorite" but we are all open and honest with each other and tend to be respectful of those differences. Life isn't rainbows and neither are relationships, it's all about how they are handled.
Weeks/Days: 4+6
Rants/Raves: ****TW**** I went in for an unplanned U/S yesterday because they wanted to rule out an etopic pregnancy because of abdominal pain I was having. Everything looks normal, but I to early to see anything at this point. I really appreciated my MFM doctors approach through because I felt like and idiot for going in and freaking out and he was really kind and reassuring.
Symptoms: Not much some fatigue and nausea here and there.
Questions: Nope
Gtky #1: Does your babe have siblings? (ETA: including furry ones!) Brother C turned 4 in November, Step Bro 20 and Step Sister just turned 17
Gtky #2: Tell us about your journey to get here! *****TW***** C came easy and was conceived right away. So I didn't have a reason to think #2 would be a struggle, I was wrong. We first started trying in May of 2017 we conceived after 2 months but lost that pregnancy at 6 weeks in August of 2017. We started trying right away and again go pregnant in 2 months, but that baby was lost at 6 weeks in January of 2018. After that loss I need a mental health break. We started trying again in May of 2018 and this time was not able to conceive quickly. I am praying this baby stays around and is our rainbow.
@cuduebor- yes, actually. I had forgotten about it 🤦🏼♀️ They did a placement scan at 7w5d for DS2 (thank you, baby book, for that reminder). It looked like two oval blobs stuck together. It was an abdominal scan. According to the notes, I measured 7w2d at that scan, and they had no difficulty with the regular probe 🤷🏼♀️ EDD was not changed. I didn’t write down his HB measurements, though, and it’s not on the photo
Questions: Has anyone had a scan at 7 weeks? Doc said we will be able to see the heartbeat, but I’m wondering what else to expect since it’s so early.
You will be able to see and hear the heartbeat, which is incredible! Other than that they mostly just take measurements to make sure the baby is developing at the correct speed per how many weeks you are. It will look kind of like a lima bean shape at that point.
Rants/Raves: My rave is also a source of general anxiety, DH and I are really attached to this babe already. We talk about baby all the time. DH keeps an eye on what size the baby is on the bump homepage and he refers to the baby as "the lentil", "the corn kernel", "the chocolate chip", he will say, "how is the little lentil feeling", it's so funny and kinda cute! **TW** We had a conversation about general risk of loss at this point and he said he would just be crushed. So naturally I'm a full of anxiety and check the risk calculator each day
Symptoms: general exhaustion, sore boobs, indigestion, and some days nausea, also super emotional, like crying at commercials emotional
Questions: not right now!
Gtky #1: Does your babe have siblings? (ETA: including furry ones!) -two dogs, a 2.5 yr old 40lb lab/collie mix, and a 1yr old 90lb akita/GSD mix
Gtky #2: Tell us about your journey to get here!: It felt like a long one... DH and I have wanted to start a family for over 3 years but we were always caught up on "timing" (ha!). In the end of summer of 2017, DH and I met with a doctor for preconception counseling so I could get everything health wise checked out, so I wouldn't need MRIs or more invasive procedures during pregnancy (I have a history of skin cancer, throat cancer, and a benign mass on my liver known to grow during pregnancy). When I was finally given the green light, I was involved in a super traumatic event which really set our plans back. I had to spend the next year emotionally getting better and dealing with the effects of PTSD. In that year DH finally graduated dental school, we moved 500 miles away (but closer to family), sold our condo, bought a new house, and started new jobs. Finally in November 2018 we felt ready to start trying and here we are now (finally).
Also, I don't mean to be super vague, I just don't feel comfortable on a public platform, if anyone wants to talk more or needs to talk about PTSD/anxiety/ect. I am an open book through DM. I would love to have support and give support through all of this!
Rants/Raves: patience is not my virtue so waiting until the 28th for my 8 weeks appointment is driving me up the wall...
Symptoms: exhaustion, heartburn, sore boobs, nausea if I don’t keep something in my stomach or wait too long to eat, back pain, and the bloat of all bloats...
Questions: nothing right now!
Gtky #1: no human siblings but 2 fur baby siblings for this little one! 75lb golden and an 11lb mini weenie dog
Gtky #2: Hubby and I got married in March of 2017! We decided to go off BC in December and didn’t do much for TTC that month. Got down to business in January and here we are!! BFP on January 27th (hubby’s birthday)
Symptoms: fatigue, bloating, morning sickness, twinge pain in left side from time to time.
Questions:
Gtky #1: Does your babe have any siblings? Yes two sisters 6 & 4
Gtky #2: Tell us about your journey to get here! Not much of a journey, unfortunately not planned, however just as excited since finding out. Had the IUD removed in october and GYN wanted me to wait for a full period before starting a new bc, after some known side effects appeared I decided to buy a test (which was positive). Nice to meet you all!
With people still joining and all the due dates clustered in the first half of the month anyway, I hope it's okay if I just start a big board wide check in for this week I just made up the check in really fast so if you want to add anything else please do!

Rants/Raves: TGIF. Another busy weekend ahead after a weird week with the snow. Looking forward to March just around the corner.
