TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. I'll jump in first this week since I was MIA last week.

Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, anovulatory, AMA

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Appointment on Wednesday as a follow-up **TW to my D&C following a MMC**. Our RE recommended going to IVF so that's the plan.

How are things going?: Some days are better than others. Sorry I disappeared for a week or so but I was having a hard time dealing with everything and TB wasn't making it easier. These drive-by posts and one grad post (not a check-in) really got to me and I didn't want to say anything I might regret.

Any questions?: Not right now

GTKY: What was the first car you owned? Chevrolet Cavalier that I bought with my own money so I could take my driver's test. I'm embarrassed to admit I was 20 but it was because I never saw the point in getting my license since we couldn't afford an extra car for me to drive and I couldn't borrow the family car.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): trying on our own until we go back to the RE in April

How are things going?: I had accepted my fate this cycle and was ok with it, but then saw *TW*

4 pregnancy announcements over the weekend

and that all went to hell. I only expect more this week since most were Valentines themed. I hate being such a bitter person but when someone has only been married less than 8 months and posts that, I want to punch them.

Any questions?: nope. I was going to ask what ?'s to have ready for the RE appointment but I know that someone has asked that before so I'll go find it

GTKY: What was the first car you owned? 2004 Dodge Stratus! My poor Stella (yep) baby got totaled last year in a parking garage, I would totally still be driving it now if not for that.

How are things going?: Whoop Whoop MH is home! He got in at 2am Sunday morning and we didn't get home until well after 3am. I am still tired from it. He spent most of yesterday down at the hospital with his dad which was good, and we got a few hours together too.

Hi everyone, I hope it's okay I join in over here. I'm coming off a pretty big TTC break but previously have been through a myriad of Infertility testing/treatment.

Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, and Unexplained secondary IF.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched AL

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Currently benched *TW* Had a MMC about a week ago
Tracking HCG down and then having a Saline Sono before jumping back into a medicated IUI cycle

How are things going?: Okay. Just kind of anxious to get this show back on the road.

Any questions?: not right now

GTKY: What was the first car you owned?
Toyota Corolla. The month after I finally paid the thing off, I got in a car accident (not my fault) and it was totalled

@b_1029 Ugh, I'm sorry for all the announcements. They feel like such a slap in the face and people are so oblivious about it.

@celticknotfire and @crookshanks10 I have a love/hate relationships with one offs. I enjoy the ones where the posters are just dumb - like how have you made it this far in life without getting run over by a car or something? I hate the posts where someone I don't know thinks I would be happy for them when they're pregnant after one cycle and an oopsie.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I have to get another blood draw today to see if hcg levels are down to zero. FX they are, or they're close.

How are things going?: Good! I started spotting today, so hoping AF is on the way. Hopefully this will be my last cycle on the bench!

How are things going?: Hey all! I forgot to update last week. Our FET was on Tuesday and went great. Currently PUPO with beta on Friday. Been eating my pineapple core, keeping my feet warm and taking it easy. Because I like torturing myself, I tested last night at 5dp5dt, obviously bfn. Will stay strong and test on Friday morning before my beta so I have an idea going in.

@crookshanks10 it's pretty sad to get to a point that you get excited for AF. That's how I've felt too after these 2 failed IUIs. Like oh boy yay I get to try again now!

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, DH with 1% morph (of course that means squat to the RE)

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI #3 although I honestly feel like we're going to need to do IVF so I'm already preparing my mind for it.

How are things going?: so glad we got the results on a Friday so we would have the weekend to recover. DH still taking it hard and still worried we won't be able to reproduce. I told him "hey, I have eggs, you have sperm. There's nothing that says we can't reproduce. It will happen some day!"

Any questions?: Anybody know if IUIs with injectables is more successful than IUIs with oral meds? Just curious, probably too late to ask if we can do injectables for the 3rd IUI although it is only CD2 and I still need to call to do the baseline US.

And for those that moved from IUIs to IVF, did you spend a cycle going over things with your RE or can we go right into IVF in our next cycle if this last IUI fails? I'm both impatient and antsy because ideally we'd want to have a kid by the end of the year (I know we can't really control that) but I know if we skip March for an IVF consult, then that puts us into the next year. Can you tell I always get way ahead of myself?? Sigh

GTKY: What was the first car you owned?
It was a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix that was my dad's company car that he bought from the company after he had used it for 2 years. I got to pick out the color when he was selecting it because I was 17 or 18 when he'd be done with it which was the perfect time for me to have my own car since my sister would be going off to college around that time.

@inthewoods23 I went from first consult with an RE to starting stimsin only a few weeks, so I’m sure if you’re a known patient they can make it happen fast. Question is does it make sense to rush or should you take time to discuss the protocol with your doctor in detail first...

@b_1029 you will find several threads on that here if you search, but also I would direct you to “creating a family” which has tips on selecting and what to ask at your first RE appointment. Also Beat Infertility has one episode of the podcast dedicated to the first visit to an RE.

@crookshanks10 I know soooo many people who always got AF on time and then when waiting to start IVF she took her own sweet time in arriving... it seems to be Murphy’s law! Fx she arrives soon

Diagnosis (if you've been): DOR, AMA and some autoimmune issues thrown in for good measure

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WF ERA and Hysteroscopy

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): ERA and Hysteroscopy

How are things going?:
So today is CD2, went in for baseline, ovaries are quiet, my uterus is churning up a storm in there getting rid of last months lining and so I have the go ahead to start taking all my meds.
This cycle we basically take all the meds like we will do for our FET which means back to daily injections as I’m also on blood thinners amongst other things and will have injectible progesterone too (in addition to suppositories). Not forgetting my favorite estrogen patches and pills and steroids. Oh and the cetrotide injections for this first week. DH is going to be so happy he can stab me every night again!
Plus we are doing intralipid infusions - for which I have a special company coming to my house! (Don’t ask how much that costs...)
Then instead of transferring an embryo on day 5 of progesterone they will do a biopsy of my lining and send it away to be tested to see if I’m receptive or not. And will stick the Hysteroscopy camera up there to check there are no dodgy patches in my uterus where an embryo couldn’t implant - if there is they’ll “put fresh sheets on the bed” so it will be ready for next month. Well that’s how I’m thinking of it...
I’m really really pleased we got the green light today as it finally feels like we’re moving forward since our last retrieval in October.
I am really keen to get these ERA results as since I’ve never had any implantation occur ever it would be great to know it’s just a timing issue as that’s easily fixed with an FET. However I’m trying not to be too hopeful as so far none of our fixes have been that simple...

The first car I purchased myself was a little purple Vauxhall Corsa which was an automatic - not typical in the UK but I needed it as I had badly broken my leg and to this day can’t drive a manual car as my left leg isn’t strong enough to manage a clutch on a long journey or if you get stuck for a long time in heavy traffic.

Said he had a personal question for me and asked if I was pregnant because he had tried calling me about something and I didn't answer (he asked this over messaging). He's in a different state. I had told him I was on my cell phone trying to schedule a doctor's appointment which is why he then asked. He's gets all the notifications along with my boss when I have these appointments but I haven't specified what for to anyone. I let him know I'm not dying.

Can this IF stuff be over yet?? He's a really good and fun dude so I can't be too upset he would ask. I'll clue everyone in once we reach the usual announcement mark.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): wFAF now (BFN at 12dpo this morning). BUT - picked up my Letrozole this morning! Need to call my doc to set up monitoring appts as soon as CD1 hits.

How are things going?: okay. I had such low hopes for this LoNG cycle anyway, so now just hoping that I really did O (stopped temping when I hit 45 days) and AF starts Wed or Thursday!

Okay late to the party. Apparently selling cars was a priority this weekend and I've got lots to do! Forgive me if I don't make it back here today.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): End of my TWW...

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Progesterone suppositories

How are things going?: I feel out. I had some spotting this morning and while my RE nurse says it means nothing, I'm pretty sure it means no luck. I'm not sure how I'll take the BFN on Wed. I mean, I didn't have much hope for this cycle anyway as I qasnt thrilled with our timing but obviously there's always some hope that the 1 different thing will make all the difference.

Any questions?: It hasn't been discussed, but how many cycles should TI and prog be used before moving on to something different? I'm truly hoping it doesn't come to that but we are in month 19 so I'd rather not let this go on longer then seems sufficient

GTKY: What was the first car you owned? I have a "started from the bottom now I'm here" joke with a friend. My first car was a Buick Centry that was as old as me. Now I'm in an Enclave lol.

@emmasemm wow, sounds like you've got your hands full with all of this! I really hope it turns out to be "that simple". My RE had posted on Facebook a few things about timing and the ERA. It's very intriguing. I'm amazed how our bodies work and don't work and all the little intricacies required for pregnancy to occur.

@inthewoods23 YES! Who knew we'd be wishing for AF. To answer your question, after IUI4, I had a next steps appointment with my RE (1/2), and I did have to do a cycle where I did a saline sonogram (I had an HSG about 1 year prior), as well as a trial transfer for IVF (1/21). Those tests happened on day CD7 for me. Once I got a positive OPK, that's when I called the IVF coordinator and we ordered my meds. I think they do this to ensure your meds will arrive on time for you to start IVF your next cycle. This was just my experience of course! Hopefully the third time's a charm for you!

I am overwhelmed by all the kind words! I cannot thank you all enough. It helps so much to have all of the support.

@crookshanks10 it's so funny how when you are not TTC you would love for AF to take her time but when you actually want her to come she takes her sweet time.

@b_1029 I'm sorry there were so many announcements. Some days I avoid Facebook because I can't handle all the baby related posts. My only real tip for the RE is to write all your questions down before because it's easy to get overwhelmed.

@nitnat007 that's great news the YH is home!

@hanshotfirst77 I am sorry for your loss and FX your HCG drops quickly so you can get going again.

@ruby696 I agree some of the one-off posts are funny but it's more the look at what I peed on posts that bother me. Any updates on your HCG?

@kobrien827 congrats on being PUPO! Now Friday needs to hurry up and get here!!!

@inthewoods23 I am so sorry for your bfn this past cycle. My IUI was with injectables but that was because I didn't ovulate with letrozole and clomid thinned my lining too much. I haven't seen any research on if they are more effective just that the odds of success improve with each IUI (up to three).

@emmasemm wow you have a lot going on! I am so happy for you to get this ball rolling.

@lcking82 Is this your first month on letrozole?

@prpl11butterfly I'm not sure how many cycles to use TI and progesterone for before moving on. FX this cycle works for you so you don't have to worry about it!

@madcouplewithabox Does he take a multivitamin or any other pills? If he does you could always set him up with a pill box. Is it possible he is having a hard time with the MFI diagnosis?

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): I *think* AF is arriving. After spotting on and off for 5+ weeks, it seems to be picking up. At least I really hope so.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting for RE appointment on February 19

How are things going?: I have good days and bad, like everyone I guess. I still find it hard to be around people some days. I'm getting super anxious and impatient about starting our next cycle, but I'm worried the RE will say we have to wait for three cycles post D&E.

Any questions?: How many other "AMA" moms are on this board? If you don't mind revealing age

@inthewoods23 I am sorry to hear that the iui didn't work. But you are absolutely right, you both have what it takes, it is just about getting those two things together to work at the same time. You will get there. *hugs*

@emmasemm I always found it so strange that automatics are not really a thing in Europe or South Africa. I grew up driving standard and only after moving to Canada did I make the switch. It definitely makes the morning commute easier, I will say that. FX for great results on the ERA! I like that way of thinking, putting fresh sheets on.

@prpl11butterfly I really hope that you are not out and that that one thing changing was all that you needed for success. You are not out until you are out though.

@madcouplewithabox MH was resistant to supplements too, until we figured out that we have MIF. I still have to get the protein shake ready in the morning and put that and the supplement bottle next to his keys to, as well as remind him every night to take them. But he is better about it. Initially I was offended by it, like he didn't want this as much. But, I pick my battles. It is easier to help him out with trying to remember to take them. Hopefully he will get on board soon.

@bakerstreetboys *throws hand in the air* I will be 39 in August. I definitely get that panicked feeling of "this needs to happen now or not at all", but I do try and take a step back and breathe once in a while and try and get ok with it. FX that you wont have to wait at all before moving forward. Is this your first app with the RE?

Thank you for all the good thoughts for my FIL. There is still no feeling from the waist down, but he is sitting up and seems to still be in excellent spirits. There is still a fair amount of swelling, so he is still hopeful that once that goes down he will regain movement. FX. MIL however said my name yesterday and did not choke, so there is that! MH saw her yesterday for the first time and it went fairly well. I am glad that she is able to put it aside given the circumstances.

@celticknotfire I'm guessing my RE would only ever suggest injectables if I wasnct ovulating. I didn't ask about it at my appointment because eh, so letrozole it will be for me.

@bakerstreetboys funny how we never expect ourselves to be as old as we are when we try for kids. I'll be 30 soon but years ago I was thinking "omg people are so old when they start having kids at 30". Well... Here I am lol

Update from my CD3 US - everything looks good so on we go for IUI #3! I start letrozole tonight.

@celticknotfire (btw love the username!) I’ve seen his one a day bottle in the bathroom. Not sure how often he takes it though. He was in the Navy and knew he might have some issues from it cause most of his friends have had issues TTC, so I don’t think he was real surprised by the diagnosis. DH says he wants to research the supplement first and thats why he hasn’t started. Hello dude! I’ve already done that for you and answered your million questions about it already.

@nitnat007 that’s probably what I’ll end up doing. Just set him up with something to drink in the morning with the pill next to it. It’s just frustrating that it’s one more thing I have to do on top of everything else. Oh well.

But on a brighter note.... one of the supplements I want to try came in today *happy dance*

@bakerstreetboys Right?! Who would have thought AF would be so exciting? I'd love to be cycle buddies with you, but my spotting hasn't progressed. Hoping to get this show on the road soon.

@bakerstreetboys count me in on the AMA train! I was just telling MH the other day how when we started I was saying I really want to be KU by the time I turn 36 (thinking that was going to be easy). Then later it was 37...I turn 37 in April so I don't think that's going to happen either. But my RE tells me I'm still young even though I don't feel like it.

@ruby696 Ouch that sucks. I guess it's more common for them to monitoring numbers going up but still dude listen to what your patient is saying.

@nitnat007 That's great news about your FIL. I use to be a physical rehab nurse and I have seen some things that really make you stop and think about how amazing the human body really is.

What do you all make YHs take for vitamins? I'm probably going to make mine do something if tomorrow isnt a good result. I mean, I take a ton so maybe he can do little something more then show up to HIO.....

@prpl11butterfly I just make dh take a multivitamin and made him stop drinking energy drinks. I asked our RE and she didn’t recommend anything else for him.

@prpl11butterfly mine takes a multivitamin and fish oil. I can't remember if he was already taking them when we started TTC. I try to goad him into eating healthier but so far my efforts have been pointless.

@prpl11butterfly mine is taking Smarty Pants men's multivitamin. They're gummies!

I have him taking vitamin D with me but idk if he really needs it. The RE said everyone is deficient in vitamin D to some degree so I've been having him take it too.

@prpl11butterfly When we spoke to our RE about MH's issues, he suggested a multi, CoQ10 and a couple other things, but nothing too far out there. We decided to go with FH Pro for men. They had everything recommended as well as some other good things that we had researched.

@Nitnat007 Unfortunately this will not be our first visit with the RE...we have already done two full rounds of IVF. I'm 41 now, so it's crunch time for us!

@prpl11butterfly yes the men's one is berries as @b_1029 said. There's actually like 3 different flavors but they're all berry based.

I think their prenatals are like strawberry banana, lemon and something else. Idk, tastes good to me though!

I did the Baby & Me ones for a while but I hate how big the pills are and they taste kinda funny.

The one downside to the Smarty Pants is that you take 6 total a day so I bottle is only 20 days. The last 2 bottles I had 4 left in the container and I was like hey! There isn't 120 in here if I'm left with 4! What gives?m

lcking82 I got my rx last night. I can't take it until I bleed *hopefully* from the progesterone. Do you know the course of action for yours?
@madcouplewithabox my best friend had MFI and it took a few weeks of convincing to get her husband to oblige in any of the treatments/testing. She had to just sit and wait and let him figure it out, but she said he felt so ashamed and responsible and just down right guilty that she didn't want to push anything. I hope your DH can meet you halfway and open the bottle!

A little late, but I've been just trying to keep my head above drowning in my feelings lol

Diagnosis (if you've been): Hypothalamic Amenorrhea

(WTO/TWW/TTA): Waiting to bleed of progesterone.. a few more days left of the rx.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Progesterone challenge (hopefully for a bleed) then femara CD 3-7

How are things going?: Really not that great. I never knew how emotional this could be and I have not even faced the challenged of IF that long. I feel kind of empty inside and shameful that this is happening.

Any questions?: How does one cope with the anxiety of testing and treatment? I am wound up like knots just hoping the plans that we have cooperate with my body and vice versa. How do you explain to others what's going on if they actually ask? I usually just brush it off and say "we're not ready to TTC yet" even though I'm dying on the inside.

GTKY: What was the first car you owned? A pontiac torrent. My friends joked it was like a little minivan for me because I was at the time 16 going on 40. Old soul over here.

Little rant really quick. I’m sitting in the waiting room of my RE and is it really necessary for people to bring their babies with them?!?! Nothing like making someone feel worse. I understand getting a babysitter can be difficult but have some compassion and consideration please

@flinstone-2: I’m about 14dpo now by OPKs (but CD60). If no AF tomorrrow, then I’ll take progesterone to kick start, assuming that I didn’t O. I’m cramping yesterday and today, so think I AM approaching AF.

Otherwise, same as you - Letrozole on day 3-7.
