Pregnant and Alone

My husband and I have been having problems, but shorting after we decided to try to reconcile, I found out I was pregnant. He has now all but given up on reconciliation and we are heading for divorce. Despite the support of family and friends, I feel so alone. I am scared to do this, but I know I can. Has anyone else been a single pregnant mama? How did you handle it?

    @ashbash415 I'm sorry you find yourself in these circumstances and that your husband has given up on trying to make things work.  I'm really glad your have a good IRL support system of family and friends.  I don't have any firsthand advice but I know there are lots of strong single mamas out there who do this every day and I hope some of them can offer you some helpful advice.  I hope you stick around here and that the rest of us can help in any way we can as well  <3

    I’m really sorry. That’s a tough situation. Sometimes it’s better to do it alone, than be in a toxic relationship. I think it would be great to get a counselor for some support through the ups and downs, and you have this forum with women going through the pregnancy together.

    Thanks for the support. I keep telling myself I'd rather have my baby come from a broken home than live in one. I know that our relationship would do more harm than good for the little one if we stayed together. It just doesnt make divorce any easier.

    Echoing what others have said. Utilize your support system, you don't need his negativity on top of being pregnant. Good luck to you <3

    I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine how scary this must feel. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders knowing that this is the best in the long run. As someone who has watched her parents get a divorce at age 5, it was tough and I wish they had done it sooner. They were miserable, so we all were. Hopefully your little one will know both of you as happy people and only have good memories!

    @ashbash415 I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. I am also a mother and single. I have 2 bringing in a third. There’s hope as long as you continue to push foward and who’s to say you’ll be a single mother forever.. don’t hold on to that little negative Nancy. Focus on your bean and keep pushing. Someone mentioned a therapist I highly recommend that too! Anytime you need to talk I’m here. Sending lots of love and blessings. 🥰 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

    I was married to a drug addict. I was very alone during pregnancy/labor and I finally kicked him out when my daughter was just a few weeks. Personally, having my daughter just put what was important in perspective. Unfortunately for him, he was no longer the most important love of my life. I was so focused on being a mom, that made it easier. 
    Now, 4 1/2 years later I am very happily remarried. Those few years alone were very fight or flight but my girl and I have such an awesome bond. Plus it made me insanely picky knowing she was watching me date.
