@kiki047 Almost every bridal/baby shower I've been to had a game of some kind. My least favorite ones are the ones that require me to pay attention to the entirety of the gift opening (ie: gift bingo). Although the last 2 baby showers I went to were "green" showers, meaning no gift wrap. The gifts just got put out on display and people could go look at them if they wanted, but otherwise people just mingled. Waaaay better, and I wish that was a trend back when I had my wedding shower because I hate being put in front of a bunch of people to awkwardly open gifts.

@lulu1180 see, those kinds of creative games aren't so bad. I've played that one (and was surprised at how little I knew lol). My cousins are my BMs so they know exactly what I want/don't want at my shower in April. My cousin created her own version of Cards Against Humanity with custom categories and answer cards for her BFF's baby shower a few years ago but her family was suuuuper traditional and conservative and just side-eyed her the entire time and refused to participate. Meanwhile her friend was laughing her ass off. I was like, please do that for my shower, bridal, baby or otherwise.

I love shower games if they are fun/creative and have prizes. I hosted a baby shower for my sister and came up with a little quiz game where the guests guessed whether it was mom-to-be or dad-to-be who did a specific funny thing as a child. Some (real) examples from my quiz: - who shouted "doggie goes woof woof" during their aunt's wedding ceremony? -who proclaimed during potty training, "I don't need potty, I go outside like the doggie" -who asked the pastor during communion if he was Jesus?

My bf just told me that he’s taking me out on a date tonight. If it’s to go grocery shopping or something I’m going to be sad. I could really use a date night.
Also, one of our tenants upstairs is going through something and she’s screaming in Punjabi and throwing stuff around. I’m going to knock on her door in a few minutes to make sure she’s ok. My bf told me to wait until it quiets down a bit cause she’s clearly going through something. I’m glad he’s the kinda guy who doesn’t try to interfere when he knows better haha. I feel bad for poking fun at her because we’ve all had bad days but it just sounds funny because she’s generally the quietest girl.
@shamrocandroll I could get behind the "green" showers. I am not a huge fan of opening gifts in front of everyone either. Plus, more time for mingling and eating sounds more enjoyable for everyone.
@shamrocandroll I went to a baby shower like that last year. It made sense because there we definitely more that 100 guests and the mother to be wanted to be able to talk to people and not have to spend a crazy amount of time opening presents. Many of the younger guests were digging it but my my mom and her friends weren't.
So I'm typically a mobile bumpie, but I'm on the website from my computer for once this evening and I happen to see that there's a "Am I Pregnant" quiz you can take. Maybe we should provide the link to all the drive by "line eyes" posters because better they take a quiz than for us to guess!

@shamrocandroll I think it's about etiquette. I get it, it's a party to shower the parents to be with gifts, and a lot of people do enjoy watching them open what they've picked out or made for them. But, if you've got a massive guest list, that's a LOT of time spent sitting unwrapping (and a long time for your guests to have to sit and watch you unwrap!).

The one right now for me says "July 2018 IVF- Page 2"...seems relevant. All these ads are getting out of control. 1 of our managers is here for a meeting and he brought his daughter in with him. So shes hanging out and I walked by and hear her say something about me to another coworker. He came over after and told me she said "I like that girl, shes really pretty" 😊 that little girl made my whole day
I’m getting a puppy today ! We found out that the people who we got our dog from had more puppies so we are getting our dogs little brother. We had been debating getting another dog lately and this is all just such great timing since I’m off work and have the time to train him ! I cant use spoilers on mobile but this is the picture I was up all night thinking of names that sound good with Piper haha.
@prpl11butterfly I love getting unexpected compliments! I posted a picture of myself with a mug of fancy looking hot chocolate (it was topped with Reddi whip and sprinkles!) last weekend on facebook and had so many compliments on how beautiful and pretty I looked it was so weird because that rarely happens. I happened to really like what I was wearing that day plus the winter hat I had on so it was a nice little boost to my confidence!

@shamrocandroll I think it's about etiquette. I get it, it's a party to shower the parents to be with gifts, and a lot of people do enjoy watching them open what they've picked out or made for them. But, if you've got a massive guest list, that's a LOT of time spent sitting unwrapping (and a long time for your guests to have to sit and watch you unwrap!).
