Nail/Fail - DS#2 had his 15 month check up. Doctor was really happy, says he's doing great. But the vaccines gave him a fever of 100°, first time either of my kids had a reaction
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: Everyone at work is trying to schedule the summer jobs, already. Can't you wait just 3 more weeks, so I can explain why I'm giving you a hard time about making me travel in July?!
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird
My father makes a savory french toast and I put mayo on it. So good! Don't get me wrong, I love the sweet stuff drenched in syrup too. But the savory option is real.
How far along are you? How big is baby? 9w2d-10w0d...still waiting on an EDD despite knowing this one is viable now. Size of a cherry I think.
How old is/are you other kid(s)? DD6 DS2.5
Nails and fails from this week: Nail: I work from home and today I got caught up on some busy work that I have been procrastinating. Fail: my house, all of it. Also I have been losing my patience with my kids this week...see below.
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: I have struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my life...unfortunately it took until 3 years ago for me to realize how terrible my anxiety is. Over the summer I went back on zoloft, which helped immensely. I have been trying to go without it this pregnancy but for the sake of my family I think it is time to go back on it. To be fair I took it with DS and he is as average as they come; I mean that in the best way possible. I did not take it with DD and she is my kiddo with numerous health issues. Not that staying off of it caused her problems...but going on it with DS had zero effect on him.
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird. Honestly I am a pretty normal eater and cant think of anything.

Nails and fails from this week:
Fails: parent night on Thurs meant o missed bedtime, then i worked the whole weekend prepping for and Co hosting a baby shower, so I barely played with my son and now I have to go back to work today....I feel like he's not getting the time he needs and it's showing at bedtime. I had to nurse him to sleep (have never made that a habit at the beginning of the night, and have not done it in so long I can't remember....probably the night he cut 3 molars at once a while back). He's been so snuggly and clingy lately, which I know is part of his way of dealing with me going back to work. He's truly fine and has a good day every day, but I still can't help but think....
Nails: the baby shower was super fun and I made a cake that my son and I could eat to share with everyone (dairy free, egg free, gluten free, nut free, etc) and gave the recipe to 2 people within 5 minutes of cutting the cake. Safe to say, it was a hit.
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary:
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird black licorice. But my son is allergic to wheat and reacts through breast milk, so I haven't had real black licorice in over a year

How far along are you? How big is baby? 12 weeks, baby us the size of a lime.
How old is/are you other kid(s)? 14 months.
Nails and fails from this week: Nails: I got multiple loads of laundry done and picked up my new filing cabinet. Fails: DS is teething and working on 4 molars and two canines... Last week was horrific and I was so tired and stressed about his screaming I had two days in a raw where I just laid in bed and cried because I just couldn't cope.
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: My ILs... Oh goodness don't get me started but MIL and FIL stress me out. Thankfully they live 7 hours away by car.
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird. Hm this is a hard one. Oooh, I love brussel sprouts, bok choy and pak choy if they're cooked properly!
@mrosek91 oh that's hard about work! Ugh, I hope they can hold off on scheduling summer travel for a bit longer.
@allycat11 well done getting caught up! I work from home as well and find it quite hard to juggle that with housework and DS. It's always a great feeling to be caught up!
@hillaryo14 it is a lot of work to pack up all the Christmas tree stuff... So fair enough you still have it up!

Nails and fails from this week: Nails- Kept everyone relatively happy while being snowed in all weekend. Fails- We probably watched way too much TV.
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: My boss and most of my co-workers know I'm pregnant now. It was really getting hard hiding the third child blump.
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird @BigBadWolf12 Put me down for black licorice as well. I also love everything bagels which my husband and kids hate. So, no sharing.
@elizabeth_1985 how does anyone hate bagels? I can't wait to eat a bagel again! I'm drooling just thinking of it....toasted warm. ..mmmmmm

Nails and fails from this week:
Nail - Finally found some remedies to give DD and myself some relief from this godawful cough that won't quit. Hoping it only hangs around for 2 weeks this time, instead of 4 (like in November). Fail - Zero housework this weekend (was finally able to start catching up on lack of sleep from ALL last week) and zero effs given about it. DH did an awesome job of jumping in with a majority of childrearing and meal-providing so that was nice.
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary:
Rant - DD will not flippin' eat and I'm about to lose my shit over it. Rave - I'm still flying food craving/aversion free and have even lost about 8 lbs, despite not really doing much but keeping mindful of what/when I eat. Dear Diary - I need a maid and a cook. Please and thank you.
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird: Brussels sprouts (kinda ironic today). And butter noodles and/or rice. With butter noodles, it's exactly as it sounds - some form of noodle with melted butter (though I do like to add some garlic salt). Butter rice is exactly that: melted butter and salt over rice. Haven't had either in forever because DH judges the hell out of me for it.

@mamak225 that sounds great. My mom used to make breaded noodles, yes they are what they sound like you coat noodles in butter or oil, and then seasoned breadcrumbs. I've made them a handful of times, but they are so unhealthy/carb heavy. Yours sounds like a slightly healthier but still delicious version.
@mamak225 I know its challenging but its so normal for toddlers not to want to eat much or just want to graze throughout the day. Hang in there. Its even more challenging when you don't really want to eat/cook. hugs @BigBadWolf12 Thanks! food allergies are such a PITA, I never fully comprehended what it meant to have a kid with food allergies until we started living that life and how it effects everything.

@wabash15 same. No food allergies in the family on either side, so it was a step learning curve at first! Thankful for having taught students with severe allergies. Their parents' mantras of how to keep kids with allergies safe play through my mind all the time, but it's so true that it's not fully real until it's your own kid and it's a 24/7 job reading labels, cleaning environments, trying to re plan events and play dates so you can host it etc.
Anyways, all that to say I hope you're daughter likes the cake I made a "butter"cream frosting with peppermint extract to cover up the "not real butter" flavour, but I'm sure chocolate icing would be decadent too

Nails and fails from this week: This week has been pretty uneventful, but I did manage to plan and shop for a week’s worth of groceries yesterday - score!
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: Looking at other people's post reminded me that my MIL and SIL are nearly 1,000 miles away this go round... and that’s a major win!
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird I love almost all veggies - asparagus, Brussel sprouts, all of them!
How old is/are you other kid(s)? DD1 is almost 5, DD2 is almost 2
Nails and fails from this week: Fail - we went to dinner with friends on Saturday night and I tried to eat like a normal person (ie salad and a main dish) and I thought I was I was going to die on Sunday. Nails - DH is NOT traveling this week, praise the lord!
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: I start a new job in 2 weeks, and I'm thrilled. We're looking at a new daycare so that the baby and DD2 would be at the same campus as my oldest's afterschool program. The idea of all this change is overwhelming me a bit.
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird: I feel like my answer to this question is not fair for those who might be queasy.... but I'll just leave it at the fact that I'm a true carnivore (except when pregnant, please only give me potatoes).
How old is/are you other kid(s)? Almost 21 months (when do I stop counting months?)
Nails and fails from this week: Nail: Seabands are really helping with nausea, at least enough to make me somewhat productive during the work day. Fail: About half of my Christmas decorations are still up. I really need to take them down since my parents are visiting this weekend.
Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: My first US is tomorrow. I am nervous and excited and just hoping everything looks good.
GTKY: Food you like that other people find weird: Another one for black licorice. I feel like there are others, but I can't think of them right now...
@peachy0709 I love liver! And sweetbreads! But my father owns a slaughterhouse and growing up his office was my second home so I'm unusually comfortable with the "gross" parts of meat/poultry production. (His plant is poultry products only, but I know a lot about beef too, since "he's in the biz")

@peachy0709 - Fair enough! I feel of you're around it and can get it fresh and prepared correctly, those parts can be yummy. I'm not an offal person, though, iron-heavy foods do not sit well with me
Question: I'm not sure if it's my incessant coughing (which is finally letting up!!) or my stretching uterus or what, but I've been feeling some tightening near the bottom side of my pelvis - where I'm assuming it's resting now. No round ligament pain, just tightness. Like after too many sit-ups or Russian twists. Making me a little uneasy, anyone else feeling this? I'm 10w5d.
