Hi, everyone. I think I'm ready to jump in - I am 4w5d pregnant, due 9/22 (as far as I know). Unfortunately, I have experienced loss and a traumatic pregnancy, so here I am - I know you get it, and I look forward to getting to know y'all better and being support/supported through our pregnancies.
I found out early about this pregnancy and have been following your PGAL threads for the past week or so. Reiterating what someone else said above - thinking of those of you who are anxious at the moment and hoping for positive news (and as much peace as possible in the meantime) for those of you waiting on more information or the next ultrasound.
How far along are you? 4w5d
Current mood? Cautiously optimistic. **TW** I have a 10-month old son, who is a good distraction. **End TW**
If you haven't already, or want to share again, please share your loss history, if comfortable. We lost our first baby (a boy) around 22 weeks gestation, due to chromosomal abnormalities.
Any upcoming appointments, milestones, loss anniversaries, EDDs? First ultrasound is 2/8. I have major ultrasound anxiety, although for now it feels far enough away...
GTKY: Share a fun fact about yourself I used to have a pet chinchilla (don't recommend!).
How far along are you? Estimated to be around 5w+1d. (I wasn't temping anymore on advice from my therapist, and was about to give up, so I know approx when O was, but not exactly)
Current mood? Roller coaster ride... after the qualitative test said I was PG, and someone checked the 5-25 hcg level where I lost my crap thinking I was going to MC #5, then this morning I got an hcg level of 478.4 and I'm elated, but also still scared...
If you haven't already, or want to share again, please share your loss history, if comfortable. It's mostly all in my signature, but I have had 4 MC. The first one was a suspected molar PG, and then the other 3 were all pretty early on. I had tons of RPL tests that showed pretty much nothing, so I'm hesitantly excited.
Any upcoming appointments, milestones, loss anniversaries, EDDs? Second quantitative beta test is on Sunday and I should get the results Monday.
GTKY: Share a fun fact about yourself Um, I'm a good close personal friend to dpjennifer who got banned yesterday! Also, I am a competitive roller skater...
I had my second set of blood work done to test my betas today and the doctor said he'd called me no later than Monday with the results. I haven't had any more spotting or cramping since earlier this week so I'm more excited to hear the news rather than being anxious over it. Repeating the mantra to myself "Today I am pregnant and today I am joyful."
Also just ordered 3 boxes of GS cookies from a woman at work and I'm not sorry.
@dpchickens Unfortunately it definitely won't be today. They have to send the labs to another location in a town about an hour away to test them (which is insane because I live in a huge city), but I'm really hoping for tomorrow or Sunday!
I was hoping to get my progesterone levels back today, but it’s looking like I have to wait until Monday. This entire pregnancy has been freak out, hurry up, then wait.

@kagesstarshroom Well, I'm staying optimistic for you. Not the best news, but not devastating either. It's a hurry up and wait kind of game from here. I know the limbo sucks. I'm so so hopeful that this is your rainbow.
@zuuls_mom Hot dang! Any heartbeat is a good heartbeat. Two weeks seems like foorreeveer but it will get here... eventually...
@maserrano714 I'm sorry the news isn't what you were hoping to hear, but I'm glad there's still hope. Exactly right momma. Today you are pregnant. And that's a reason to celebrate.
AFM, third set of betas came back strong and I'm finally relaxing, just a little bit. First u/s is on 1/29
@dpchickens AH I'm just barely catching up. I am so happy to see the good news! Also, I'm pretty thrilled that I get to be on the same BMB as you. Now I gotta go see what our friend dpjennifer did to get banned...
kgg2241 LMAO... @dpjennifer was off the chain yesterday! That qualitative hcg with a marked level of 5-25 combined with some drive-bys set her the F off. It's like she was TRYING to get banned.
Just had a very scary afternoon (with a positive outcome). Had a surge of bright red blood with shoulder pain and was sent to the emergency room by my dr for possible ecpotic pregnancy.
Got hcg taken (my first time) and an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed us at 5w6d with a heartbeat of 97 and hcg at 2100. I have to go back Monday for a follow up on my Hcg. diagnosis was just “threatened miscarriage” and I was told to pelvic rest.
I think this this is positive, but I still feel terrified, mostly bc I’m measuring a week behind where I thought I was.
sunshine2417 LMAO... Disney Princess. (Don't create screen names in intermediate school back in the late 90s and decide to have them follow you for life.)
If you haven't already, or want to share again, please share your loss history, if comfortable. CP oct 2015, 7 wk loss Jan 2016. 5 wk loss aug 2018. ** TW: I did have a successful pregnancy and have a 2 year old girl born in Jan 17.
Any upcoming appointments, milestones, loss anniversaries, EDDs? Got my first positive on 3+2 and got up the courage for a first beta today which was 380. I go back on Monday for a second beta. Have an intake with my midwife set up for 6 wks and refused to set up my next appointments until after that.
@klhelder I’m so sorry you had a scare! I had some pretty heavy bleeding at the beginning and am measuring a week behind too. It’s hard not to get nervous, but a heartbeat is always a good thing!

@dpchickens thank you! *TW* we asked my 3 yo son what to call new baby and he said “chicken,” so that’s been our nickname this pregnancy — so your name always makes me smile *end TW*
@klpv415@maserrano714@zuuls_mom thank you! Feeling more positive this morning. The bleeding has slowed and it is likely I ovulated late, as I wasn’t tracking ovulation - just going off of normal cycle.
Trying to stay positive until Monday, and I will let you know how my numbers are looking.
How far along are you? 4 + 4 Current mood? Hopeful, anxious. Have been self-protecting, I guess, by not checking the PGAL threads in a week. It's comforting, saddening, terrifying all at once. If you haven't already, or want to share again, please share your loss history, if comfortable. Late loss at 18 weeks in late October '18. Any upcoming appointments, milestones, loss anniversaries, EDDs? Had 1st appt Friday, second HCG draw is today, results Monday. First real appointment with U/S isn't till Feb 13. GTKY: Share a fun fact about yourself I come from a huge family of sisters & I'm the only one who experiences morning sickness. How special!
@keikilove (this is also a reply to yr recent post on last week's thread?) never be sorry for something like that! esp. on the PGAL thread! i've had to take a break from doing most anything on S19 but lurking & lovetitting (& posting the product spotlight series since i said i would!), but i wanted to say from my perspective, it makes sense to read/post/respond when you can, not bc you feel obligated to. FX that yr results Monday are stellar.
@kgg2241 so glad to hear your numbers doubled appropriately
@klhelder& @zuuls_mom thanks for sharing your experiences--reading this thread with everyone's varied experiences has been really important to me this week-- i hope you both have smooth sailing from here on in.
@nomangos23 so happy yr betas went up appropriately and that your fears/concerns can take a break! // it was the nurse that called, and she was just--super vague. i feel like being a FTM AL is super challenging bc i don't know enough to know what the right/appropriate questions to ask are so i just have to go by what they are telling me.
@aca12017i hope your second beta monday looks good!
OKAY AND i wanted to pop in here to send thanks to everyone for their support this week and also for sharing their stories, anxieties, results, etc. i have been meaning to post to say how much it means to me to have a thread like this, but it's been hard to be around--i really appreciate the benefits of the community like this one, but at the same time i am still harboring my fears of losing the community, so i have been keeping a distance bc of that. sidenote: i never thought i'd be so happy to feel slightly nauseated multiple times in a day as has been the case today. hoping it's a good sign, and trying to harbor acceptance for whatever is to be and tell myself to, with my fears and anxieties...
@kagesstarshroom Thank you & thank you. So weird to say, but I'm praying that your nausea sticks around! Totally understand you having to keep a distance. I truly hope that all goes great & you're back with us 100% in no time.
@kagesstarshroom I think your feelings are completely relatable for everyone in here. We all want to lean on each other here, because women who have been through a loss totally understand the pain. However, it's hard to get so involved and fear you might lose that community if anything happens, or know that so many may continue on with rainbow babies/PGAL babies without you. It is hard to be vulnerable and open up with so much fear. Just know that we are here for you in whatever way you need, whenever you need it!
@kagesstarshroom I completely understand how you feel! I had major anxiety jumping in here after having to leave May, but the potential for missing crucial bonding and support time was more important to me. We’re here for you even if you only want to lurk right now. Wishing for successful pregnancies for all of us!

Hi everyone, LLL (not sure if that's the acronym for long time lurker, and am crossing my fingers for those of you who are feeling anxious and have had some scary symptoms, definitely have been there!
How far along are you? 7w,3d, EDD 07/09
Current mood? Anxious. Was feeling 'pregnant' with mild nausea and heartburn for the last few weeks but the last couple of days have been feeling normal. Trying to not worry as I know that can make things worse
If you haven't already, or want to share again, please share your loss history, if comfortable. 3 previous MC's, the latest and furthest along @14 weeks in July, it took us six months to get pregnant again and worried as I am considered geriatric
Any upcoming appointments, milestones, loss anniversaries, EDDs? First U/S next Monday so a week to wait, frustrated as it seems the Canadian health care system doesnt account for beta testing for us anxious moms along the way...
GTKY: Share a fun fact about yourself. My husband and I lived in the UAE for almost four years, a complete flip from our Canadian culture.
Second beta came back this morning. 1489.8 Phew! I almost threw up as I was making the call, and it had nothing to do with morning sickness. Next beta is Wednesday and ultrasound Friday.
@naveed7 Welcome to our board/thread. here's to hoping this is yr sticky bean. that's an interesting fact about Canada & betas! Also, thanks for your words of support. / I have heard (when I was in Egypt) that the woman of UAE are VERY fashionable, which I know is a silly thing to say about an entire country, but just wanted to throw that our there in case you have an opinion on why people would make a claim like that.
Experienced some relief and positive emotions for the first time today since finding out I was pregnant again. After a few increasing betas, I got a sonogram today and actually heard a heartbeat! I was shocked bc I didn’t expect it. I measured at exactly 6 weeks (1 day off my calculations). Now I can hopefully breathe a little easier until my full OB apt on Feb 6th! Hoping to continue to stay positive!
thanks again ladies for all of your stories.. I really appreciation the validation! Stay strong! ❤️
Ps- I thought I switched my user name to “mbs026” but I’m really not sure why it still posts as knottie.. any suggestions on how to change it?! Thank you in advance!
Could use some positive vibes and prayers, please. Got a call from MFM today that my beta quants don't look good. They're very low (only in double digits) and not doubling, barely increasing. Another blood draw tomorrow, results a day later or so.
I had a horrible MC dream several nights ago, a temperature drop yesterday morning, and have had no real symptoms besides exhaustion. Today I'm not tired at all, just stressed. Feeling very ill tonight--not sure if it's finally real symptoms, real illness, or a signal of impending doom. Sorry to be such a downer, but feeling very down.
@keikilove my heart just reaches out to you, as I just know that feeling of hearing anything other than positive from the doctor. I’m sending you lots of positive vibes and thinking about you ❤️.
@keikilove I'm so sorry you're going through this period of uncertainty! Prayerfully your numbers look great today Take care of yourself and try not to let the stress get to you.
Re: W/o 1/16: PgAL (Pregnant After a Loss) Check-in
