Trouble TTC

Hi! Introducing myself (loss mentioned)

Hi!  I’ve been reading everyone’s stories for quite some time and figured I could be some additional support for all of you as well as some support on my own journey.

I’m 34 and DH is 38.  We got married in October 2016 and starting TTC #1 in May 2017.  We planned on just stopping birth control and letting it happen on its own but I’m a control freak.  So I started with OPK’s and then tracking BBT two months later.

Much to our surprise we got our first BFP after 4 months.  Excitement was short lived as it was a CP.

Two months after that we were thankful to conceive again.  At 10weeks we found out that this was an ectopic pregnancy.  They were able to save my right tube but two weeks later I had to have a second surgery to remove the tube. (It wouldn’t quit bleeding)

We were benched for 3 months to heal and started TTC in April 2018.

In May I had an HSG done to make sure my existing left tube was free and clear.  Happy to find out that it’s healthy and open.

In June we met with a RE and everything looks great with me and DH.  The only reason that they recommended IVF is because my right ovary (tubeless side) is dominate and shows 2x the follicles as the left.  But with time (did I mention I’m 34) we could conceive naturally.  So that’s what we are going for.

This is our 8th month TTC after getting off the bench.  I’m 10/11dpo today.

Thanks for reading and I’ll now get back to lurking the rest of the threads

  • @emily1052 - welcome! Sorry that you find yourself here, but glad to have you!

So very sorry to hear of your losses and what must have been quite the devastating experience of an ectopic pregnancy and having one tube removed!! You’ve been through a lot in under two years of ttc!

Glad to hear you’ve got a plan you’re working on with ttc naturally for now; after all you’ve been through, hope you don’t have to wait long for a little bundle of joy!

Feel free to continue lurking and to join our weekly check-in threads if you’d like!
