  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  July 1, 17+0

Baby is the size of a(n): crème brulée

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink:)

Upcoming Appointments: AS on February 11th

How are you feeling?:  Nauseous, my hips are HORRIBLY painful. To the point I could barely put weight on my right leg on Friday. Sore boobs. Otherwise not too bad.

Rants/Raves:  I think I finally made it to the point where I want people to know. I'm far enough along that if something were y happen at this point I would rather people know about it. I told a couple of coworkers and a couple of students last week. Oh and DD turns 5 on Friday!

    Questions: Not today:)

GTKY: I'm not married. We've been together 20 years but I'm not the marriage type. I love going to weddings and hearing about other people's weddings though!

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Early anatomy scan on Thursday!

How are you feeling?: Mostly great! I had a big day yesterday - flew into Chicago to see two theater shows and then flew back late last night. So I’m a tad exhausted and sore today but otherwise good!

    Rants/Raves:  Nope.

    Questions: No...

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.

We got married almost 13 years ago. We picked a small vineyard in the Finger Lakes of NY with the ceremony in this tiny stone chapel on the side of the lake. It was gorgeous! We drank all the beer the winery had left and literally all the wine they had brought out for the wedding. And our DJ also went late! We actually told him to stop because I was worried about guests and their drinking. We left and he stayed anyway. Lol. It was the best, I think, because we kept it small and only invited people who knew us as a couple. So only like 70 people.
  • @thycapanj, I was working towards a VBAC with #2 and ended up with a repeat c/s. My attitude was that I didn’t have to decide until late in the pregnancy and could evaluate how I was feeling. My OB was very supportive of VBAC and encouraged me in the late days. I was dilated and ready to go... and then my son changed his mind. I sort of closed up (over a couple of days) and then I had a NST without any movement. So we ended up having an almost scheduled c/s.

I tell you all that because having a more relaxed c/s without being in active labor and exhausted is MUCH easier. But also to say there’s really no need to decide now. Prepare and then see how it goes.

@rgn12, I made my OB double check the file because I was sure I heard wrong. I remembered right! It’s nerve-wracking!
  • @Happyin14 thanks so much for sharing that. It does help put things into perspective.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 6 / 16w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green!

Upcoming Appointments: Had my 16 week appt this morning, HR was 152 and had labs for sequential screen and TSH check.  Next up is anatomy scan on Feb 11th!

How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good other than exhausted, work is hectic right now and I hate that I haven't been participating in here as much I would like.

Rants/Raves:  Rant: I really hope pregnancy brain is a real thing b/c I have been doing a lot of dumb things.  Rave: Happy the appointment went well this morning, always such a relief to hear that heartbeat!

    Questions: Nope.

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding:  Our wedding day was wonderful.  It was a very traditional wedding held in a gorgeous, historic church and then our reception was in an amazing venue on the water.  The atmosphere was perfection and we had a huge open area for the dance floor and people did. not. stop. dancing.  It was so much fun and I wouldn't have changed much about anything that day!
  • @happyin14 my OB didn’t do the ultrasound, it was a private place that does “sneak peaks.” The technician seemed confident and didn’t say that she had any doubts whether or not she was a girl or boy. I guess I should’ve asked how confident she was hahaha. I suppose I could show my OB tomorrow the ultrasound pics.  🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I’m just going to go with it until I hear otherwise. I’m just concerned because they usually do anatomy scans at 18-20 weeks and because my appt is falling on 16 weeks I’ll probably have to wait until 20. I’ll be honest, the main reason why I’m worried is because my sis is a doctor and one of her OB friends said she wasn’t convinced it was a girl for sure from my u/s pics haha.
  • @rgn12, I just meant i was also worried it was wrong - but didn’t know you had asked another OB. I’ll bet it’s right. The pics are grainy and harder to see than on screen. So that doesn’t surprise me

fun story. A friend of a friend was in need school when our mutual friend was pregnant. They were team green but her friend decided to look at the u/s and determine sex. And then bought them a bunch of blue stuff (even though the couple was anti-gender specific type stuff. Turns out she was wrong and had to return everything! I didn’t like this friend so that made me giggle.
  • Estimates due date- July 1- 17 weeks today. Baby is size of a pomegranate. My next apt is Valentine’s Day, my anatomy scan and a belly check. We are team green but hubby is dying to find out. This week I’m SO excited to be on the other side of my cold. Last week sucked. I’m also super excited for feeling little movements! As for questions- anyone having evening sickness? I throw up every night after 6pm no matter what.                           Wedding- we just got married this past July. It was a super fun rustic wedding at a barn. I seriously miss planning. The day was beautiful and everyone just had a blast. We had an ice cream theme too since I’ve cream was how we ended every date. So instead of cake had an ice cream bar which was neat.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 16w

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado 🥑

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday, normal 4 week check

How are you feeling?: tired, mostly ok except for unending headaches and heartburn.

Rants/Raves:  excited to start moving stuff in to our house.

    Questions: not today

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.

We've been together for 19 years, married for 12. We had a Celtic Ceremony with swords and handfasting at a little chapel off the Vegas strip (we lived in Vegas at the time). My dress was a crimson colored prom dress with a corset back and a white satin under skirt. DH was in a pirate shirt and a kilt. No DJ or dancing, our reception was at one of the buffets in Treasure Island. Many people thought we had the Ceremony written just for us because it was so perfect.
  • @happyin14 you’re so right! And my sisters friend that looked at it only got a snapshot and not in real time at different angles. Glad I’m not alone though! ❤️
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/7, 16+1

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado or pickle

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): team Blue

Upcoming Appointments: I have a group appt on a Thursday afternoon.

How are you feeling?: I’m still feeling crappy with post nasal drip stuff, but otherwise I feel okay. Some left sided SI pains every once in a while, but it’s few and far between.

Rants/Raves:  DD turns one on Saturday so I’m getting all the party prep ready! It’s a Winter ONEderland theme, so we’ll have a hot coco bar, a green/red chili bar, and some other fun things... I’m so excited to celebrate!

    Questions:

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.

My DH and I have been married about 3.5 years now. We got married outdoors, by a river in October, so it was a bit chilly, but DH was happy, he runs hot. It was so beautiful because the leaves were still changing at that point. Our colors were yellow and grey. I got to wear yellow shoes, which was awesome! I had a lacy, layered dress, which I loved from the moment I saw it... I don’t remember much because we went around and talked to everyone to thank them, but there was dancing, a photo booth, mingling, and tons of food! We didn’t want a cake so we chose to have Coldstone cater our dessert for us. It was the best thing ever!
  • @rgn12 With my cousin's 2nd pregnancy they were told at their AS that they were having a girl. They were excited as their 1st was a boy and our family at that point was mostly boys. They went out and bought tons of girl things. They had a RCS and when baby came out...SURPRISE...another boy:) Aparently it is possible to make mistakes and think girl when it's a boy, but very unlikely if they say it's a boy for it to end up being a girl. With DD my cousin kept telling me she could still end up coming out being a boy:)
  • @thycapanj I had an ECS with DD and I'm opting for a RCS this time. Just with my age and past complications I feel more comfortable going directly to RCS.
  • @vanillalatte89 I am like you with the evening sickness. I find the morning and the day time have gotten much better bit the evening is terrible. I was always sickest in the evenings with DD as well. So you're definitely not alone.
  • @pizzaplz Happy birthday! Glad you got to spend time with your mom!
  • @pizzaplz Happy Birthday!!!!
  • @pizzaplz , happy birthday! You can't go wrong with pie on your birthday. That sounds delicious!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 8 / 16 weeks today!

Baby is the size of a(n): Avacado

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Finding out

Upcoming Appointments: February 5 for an AS!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good! Not much nausea anymore and I don't seem to need to take a nap during the day, which is good news. Motivation to do anything productive or work out seems to be going downhill again, however, similar to how it was in December.

Rants/Raves: Rave: Gap had a great sale yesterday, so I started buying a few pieces of maternity clothing!

Questions: None that I can think of!

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.

We got married on the beach in Florida at a beautiful resort. We walked into the place and knew it was where we wanted to be married. It was a destination wedding for us and all of our guests, so we were able to keep it to about 50 people, which was great. I've been in so many weddings where the couple was so frenzied from talking to 200+ people, and I'm introverted enough that that just wasn't for us. Close family and friends flew in from around the U.S., and we got to spend the Friday night before with all of them at a beach cocktail hour + the Sunday after at a beach brunch. Plus, the wedding, of course. It was still a crazy busy weekend, but I feel like I got to spend that quality time I craved with all of these people we're so close to. Our wedding party still talks about doing a reunion at the resort one of these days!

Upcoming Appointments: Yesterday, all is good!

How are you feeling?: Not great, definitely got that cold that's been going around

Rants/Raves: Happy to learn my midwife does her own 5 week birthing course!

    Questions: Nothing today!

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding. We are still newlyweds - married 6/2/18! Our wedding was just fun - I didn't want anything stuffy. Ceremony in a circular garden, and everything else was on these large grounds with a barn, tent, and just room to play. We had a pizza truck come for cocktail hour, an old fashioned ice cream truck during the reception, the cutest trailer photobooth, and everyone got cookies and lemonade during the ceremony. I just wanted people to relax and enjoy.

@rgn12 I feel the same way and the woman told me she was 100% at my elective! Also, at my NT the tech guessed boy and said she'd be surprised if she was wrong. But, I'm looking forward to the AS to just be triple sure. Definitely driving my husband crazy dissecting the potty shot.

  • EST due date/ weeks + days: July 2nd 17 weeks today (due date bumped up from the 7th at my last appointment)

baby is the size of a pomegranate

team: find out hopefully feb 4th

upcoming appointments: Feb 4th for anatomy scan and potentially going to a consult with a specialist due to my AFP levels before that but waiting for the call.

How are you feeling: not too bad, I had some cramping on Sunday but I also painted my daughters room that morning so I think I just overdid it. Baby is moving a lot and I’m able to feel quite a bit so that’s cool!

Rants/raves: just feeling nervous about seeing the specialist about my AFP results. I know it’s only .07 higher than they want it to be so it’s likely nothing serious but it’s still stressing me out. I’m just hoping they rule out neural tube defects at my anatomy scan so we can just deal with the potential of a leaky placenta and monitor that situation. My midwife said the usual recommendation in that case is induction on due date or just before which I feel like I can handle as long as baby is okay.

    Questions: nothing new this week!

GTKY: tell me about your wedding.

We had a wedding booked for May 2016 and then in July of 2015 found out I was pregnant with DD and due February 2016. So we bumped our wedding up and got married at the courthouse September 2015 since I preferred getting married while pregnant to planning a wedding right after baby was born, we had a small courthouse ceremony and did a reception in a private room at our favourite restaurant with about 40 close family/friends. It was perfect, very low key but we’re pretty low key people!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  July 2nd/17 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): large onion

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): BLUE  <3

Upcoming Appointments: 2/13/19 (20 week ultrasound and appointment)

How are you feeling?: Hungry-lol.  But for the most part pretty decent.  9 pm hits and I am exhausted, but other than that fine.  Still recovering from the treadmill incident of 2019, so I am bumped and bruised from that all over. I am considering wrapping myself in bubble wrap for the duration of this pregnancy.

Rants/Raves:  It's a snow day so no work for me!  Excited to be able to lay low.

Questions: I was wondering this after my 16 week appointment.  In my past pregnancies, they did the entire physical at my first appointment, but this one they did the pap, etc at my 16 week one.  Is this new protocol or just something that my practice does?

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.  Well we were married December 2000 and there was a giant blizzard.  We basically died in the limo ride to the reception, but were happily drinking so I guess we did not care.  Since there was such a bad storm and the hotel was on a major highway, it was entirely full.  When we pulled up there were all of these random people in towels waiting for us and hanging out in our reception.  We had a blast.  The only thing that sucked was people who did not pre-book a room at the hotel and had to drive in the bad weather.  We about got kicked out of the hotel due to a fight that ensued with some overzealous guest and my husband's best man/best friend who went for a beer run at the gas station across the street, slipped, broke the bottles, cut himself and bled all the way from the front door of the hotel up to his room.  Nothing that happens with us is ever normal.  LOL!
  • @sarahtram2018 yay for 2018 summer weddings and 2019 summer babies! If the baby comes on your anniversary that would be amazing!!

  • @gbud630 yes! 2 exciting summers :) I would be ok not going until the 7th. I just keep thinking about how hot it will be 😂 but it sure would be a great anniversary present!!!
  • @xtinecatherine With my doctor if you need a pap while pregnant they let you choose when you want to get it...or even of you want it at all. You can ask to postpone it until after delivery too. Luckily I just had one in April. I've actually never had to have a pap during pregnancy!

    Upcoming Appointments: today. 😒

How are you feeling?: tired. Annoyed

Rants/Raves:  this was the first time I’ve been annoyed with my OB office. I was supposed to get my first shot today for McKenna and they never followed up with the insurance. This is month 2 of that. 😒 so I left as my Dr was tearing into her staff. I was told I would get a call today or tomorrow to come back in for the shot and I have a feeling I won’t.

    Questions: no.

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.
garden wedding, reception at top ballroom because the food was amazing.... open bar. We danced to dubstep and throw backs for 5+ hours. I’ve never seen so much dancing at a wedding before and it was so much fun. Paid the DJ to stay longer and we left the limo bus to take everyone home.

Rants/Raves:  being exhausted and ready to pass out by 8pm every night. Thanks kids.

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding. Married 4 years this April, together for 8. We had a small quick  ceremony just the two of us. Neither of us were interested in a big elaborate wedding.

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Finding out

    Upcoming Appointments: Friday

How are you feeling?: Good! Achy tailbone when I sit for a long time

Rants/Raves: Hubby bound me a pregnancy pillow. I didn’t know I could love him any more than I already did

    Questions:

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.

We had two weddings so we could honor the vastly different traditions and religions of both of our families. We did a big Indian wedding first since it was more complicated. We did a semi-traditional church wedding with a reception in the church hall afterwards. There are a few things I would have done differently if we got a do-over, but it was so wonderful to be surrounded by so much love not once, but twice.

@indulgentgypsy we are anatomy scan buddies. It is amazing you can feel your mom with you.  I am sure she is every step of the way.

@rgn12 I hear you.  I just pray for no more blood taking, poking and prodding at this next appointment.  I have been tested for everything under the sun and then some.  I find myself wondering what more can they possibly do?  I am tired. Lol.

@Panaceia I wish.  It was super uncomfortable and I bled during and after.  It would have been much better if they would have done it at the very beginning or waited until post partum.
  • @Panaceia thanks for sharing this. There was a piece of me that was thinking VBAC and then people started telling me stories about attempts that ended up in a RCS and I thought eeeekkkk maybe a RCS would be good to keep in my plans instead.
  • 16 week ultrasound is good...!! Geez Louise it’s time to make some plans.

    Questions: nope

GTKY:  If you are married, TTMA about your wedding.

My husband and I married March of 2015 on a whim. We literally told people the night before that we were getting married and mostly only told immediate family and a few close friends. It was small and perfect and a huge money saver. We decided that in 6 or 16 years that we’ll renew our vows and have our dream wedding over looking the sea in New Zealand. Instead of a big wedding we bought our first house and welcomed our first child a few months later and we weren’t swimming in debt.
