Re: Group 1 (Sept 1-8) Check In w/o Jan 14

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7 weeks today! Sept 2

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: Friday - but I'm starting to question the necessity of these appointments with my RE and I am wondering if they are an insurance money grab...

How are you feeling?: ehh today has been rough already hah

Rants/Raves: I bit it so effing hard on ice this morning at the train station. Thank god I am so early in this pregnancy. I'm still planning on wrecking the city dept once they open.

Questions: RE ladies - how often does your RE have you in to do U/S and B/W after pregnancy was confirmed??

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Beach 100% - but only in gulf. I love the heat/salt/sun and oysters

  • @chichiphin ouchie! Sorry you fell. I always hate when that happens.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/5 based on LMP, but probably a couple days later. Estimating I am about 6+2

Baby is the size of a(n): Pea

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday for an u/s. I was feeling optimistic because I started puking while brushing my teeth/blowing my nose, but this morning I feel pretty normal so of course now I am terrified again.

How are you feeling?: Normal-ish. All weekend I felt super pregnant, but not today other than feeling super tired. That could just be because I was up at 2 because DS was whining for me.

Rants/Raves: Not much to r/r about today. I have a TON of work to do and only a few weeks to do it, so it's both nice and stressful to be busy!

    Questions: Nope!

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? I love both, but right now I will say beach! I want toes in the sand, drink in hand, sunny relaxation.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/5 based on LMP, but waiting for confirmation u/s

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Upcoming Appointments: Next week for an u/s...feels like forever still

How are you feeling?: Besides this cold that won't quit fine. Of course still freaking out about that but only time will tell

Rants/Raves: I have so much to do and no motivation to do any of it. I am also craving a big mac like no ones business

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Beach for sure! Sunshine and warm weather would be great right about now

chichiphin sorry about the fall. Hope your feeling ok
zuuls_mom good luck at your appointment this week!
  • Weeks: 6 wk 3 days

Baby is the size of a: pomegranate seed

Upcoming appointments: 1/28. So far away!

How are you feeling: Just tired with sore boobs. I didn't have a ton of nausea last time so I'm trying to let that reassure me but I do get anxious when I think about my lack of symptoms.

Rants/Raves: I had to work this weekend, so I feel so tired and behind at home. I also have a deadline that I'm trying to make at work which is going to be incredibly tight and will likely mean I'll need to work at night and all of next weekend to make it.

Questions: What are your thoughts on eating Subway/deli meat? I feel I'm more likely to get listeria from unwashed produce than my toasted sandwich. This is one of the few places at work I find food edible, so it's definitely a staple meal for me. My OB over the phone said no lunch meat, but I think this is a bit excessive...

GTKY: beach or mountain vacation. Definitely beach, every time.

@chichiphin Ouch, I HATE falling on ice, it always hurts so bad. I hope they salt/shovel going forward!
@zuuls_mom I hope Thursday comes before you know it and you get great news
@supermom34482 a burger sounds delicious to me too :)
  • (Lurking from Group 2) @bostonlady-2 I ate so much lunch meat when I was pregnant with my daughter. Salami, mortadella, etc - I loved getting italian subs. I was fine. I actually got sick one day from eating cooked chicken at a restaurant (my husband also got sick). I got blood tested at OB to confirm and there was no listeria, just some other bug.
Its always possible you could get listeria, so its something you have to decide for yourself. For me, I think - I've never had listeria in my life so it seems incredibly unlikely. I would personally avoid lunch meat (or anything) that has been sitting out, but fresh stuff seems totally fine to me.
    <3 DD born August 2016
    <3 2nd baby due 9.9.19
  • @bostonlady-2 while I agree that some stuff is a little strict on the restriction list, I'd actually be MORE concerned with Subway's lettuce and other veggies due to the recent outbreaks. But that is everywhere these days.
@supermom34482 omg a big mac sounds amazing right now!!
@zuuls_mom I'll be thinking of you during your thursday u/s!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  9/5

Baby is the size of a(n):  Chocolate chip!

    Upcoming Appointments:  1/28 (anxiously awaiting!)

How are you feeling?:  No real symptoms yet except for tiredness & feeling hungry more often

Rants/Raves: I am very easily annoyed now (even more then before  ;)  )  Hoping my team at work does not notice the extra bitchiness I have had lately!  Trying to keep to my comments to myself until I can let the cat out of the bag  :#

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why?  Beach all day!  Drinks, sun, water, relaxation, warm weather!  What I would give for temperatures above 30 degrees right now!

@bostonlady-2 I think everything in moderation is ok!  Most of the stuff they tell us to avoid are really just precautionary.
  • @bostonlady-2 My OB actually said lunch meat was okay as long as it was heated through. So your toasty sammie sounds delicious :)
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/1 (RCS at 39 weeks) 7w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): a blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: Haven’t called yet. I’m with @chichiphin and feel like the first appt is so unnecessary. My OB always has me come in to take a pregnancy test then they schedule the u/s. Fourth time around I’m like ummm I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t already get a positive test lol.

How are you feeling?: This is the first pregnancy where I’ve been super dizzy and lightheaded. By the time I get the kids ready to get out of the house I feel like I’m going to pass out. This is with eating and drinking extra as I’m nursing. I’m also beyond exhausted and have small waves of nausea if I forget to have a snack between meals.

Rants/Raves: I’m so tired of people telling me I have my hands full when they see I have 3 kids so close in age. I’m so not ready for when the fourth comes along. How about telling me I’m blessed?!? Because, yes, it’s stresful at times, but that is how I feel. Man I’m cranky 🤣

    Questions:

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? 100% a beach!! I miss my tan and the ocean. (We’re 15 mins from the beach.)

@bostonlady-2 I ate everything with all my pregnancies. I just always made sure it was at a clean place.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/7, 6w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): pea

Upcoming Appointments: first appointment is a phone appointment with RN in a couple days

How are you feeling?: The all day nausea I had while pregnant with DS has arrived - it’s only driven back by eating (when I eat something I get about half an hour before it sets in again) so I’m trying to find a balance there and haven't yet.

Rants/Raves: Not really, just navigating being so much more tired than usual.

    Questions: Not at the moment

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Not sure! I grew up in the mountains and miss it, though not in the winter! And the beach is nice, but I’m not crazy about crowds and sunburn so easily, so maybe off-season when it’s cloudy haha.

@bostonlady-2 echoing @nomangos23 - my OB last pregnancy also said lunch meat that’s heated through is OK.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD 9/7 6 weeks + 2 days

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

    Upcoming Appointments: January 28th

How are you feeling?: tired, nauseous, acne breakouts

    Rants/Raves: nothing really

Questions: anyone else with breakouts? I dont rememberhaving this with my other pregnancies

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why?

Im a Florida girl and going to the beach feels like home going but the mountains are so peaceful too, that’s a hard one.  Ok, ok beach 😂
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/2  7w1d

Baby is the size of a(n):

Upcoming Appointments: Next Friday is my first visit and first U/S. I am counting down the days.

How are you feeling?: Queasy unless I'm eating... So I'm basically eating all the time.

    Rants/Raves: None

Questions: Anyone have thoughts on owning/driving a truck with little ones?

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? I was going to say Mountains but just remembered there's no hot tubbing while pregnant. Hawaii sounds pretty perfect and has both!
  • @dahliasanddogs do you mean just a pickup truck?  My brother in law has had one since his first born and now has two (kids not trucks!) and seems to work out fine for them.  I think it is a little difficult to get the carseat in and out since it is so high but I'm pretty short so that is just my opinion!
  • @dahliasanddogs we have an SUV so we can have covered storage for stroller, etc when traveling. We also have 2 small dogs, so we need all the "inside" space we can get!
@blondie1314 we have very similar symptoms!

I've decided to describe myself as a mix between constantly hung over + the beginnings of the flu. Just very happy I'm not throwing up (yet)

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/4, 7 weeks today

Baby is the size of a(n): Blueberry

    Upcoming Appointments: 2/4 (foreverrrrrrrr away)

How are you feeling?: super sore boobs, exhausted when I walk through the door after work but no nausea so I’ll take it.

Rants/Raves: my dreams keep waking me up in the middle of the night because they’re so disturbing and vivid, I just want to sleep 😭

    Questions: none!

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Give me all the beach - a love being warm/hot and laying in the sun with a good book, bonus points for listening to the sound of waves too.
  • Thanks @chichiphin and @jeepwave. I can't imaging lifting a car seat into a truck (think F150). We need a new car and something to tow our trailer; although, I'm probably kidding myself that we'll actually go camping if I'm able to deliver a baby. An SUV makes the most sense but they're not usually awesome at towing. We really need 2 new cars but I can't handle buying 2 within one year.

@floridababy3 No major breakouts yet but I feel like it's only a matter of time.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7 weeks + 3

Baby is the size of a(n):blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: still waiting on 1/25

How are you feeling?: So tired! I thought I was tired last week but damn, fatigue is stepping up its game this week. I'm also getting over a cold so I am hoping to feel like a normal human person again soon. Nausea just started this morning too, which is super delightful when triggered by my postnasal drip.

    Rants/Raves:can't think of anything.

    Questions: nada

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Beach. I like warmth, relaxation, and the sound of the ocean. Also, if our son is in tow, he loves sand and would sit there all day. A mountain vacation would involve lots of chasing.
  • @floridababy3 yup I have small pimples all over. I hate it and get it with every pregnancy. It dies eventually go away!

@chichiphin Yes. That’s how I describe all my pregnancies as feeling slightly hungover all day long lol. That’s usually my give away that I’m pregnant, I wake up in the middle of if the night to go to the bathroom, think omg why did I drink so much then realize I didn’t lol. Next day results in a test ha.
  • @dahliasanddogs we just traded in our old subaru forester for a new one, and MH will have to get a second vehicle before this LO is born, so I totally get it. It is a LOT to handle.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 06/09 /6 weeks 6 days

Baby is the size of a(n): a honey bee from what the bump said today :)

Upcoming Appointments: First U/S on jan 28th, already had f/t blood tests last week

How are you feeling?:  anxious, FTM with M/C at 14 weeks in july/18, also AMA. Just exhaustion, cramps and heartburn so far.

    Rants/Raves: being called a geriatric mother 🤯

Questions: has anyone else experienced m/c's? Any ways you find to stay positive and hopeful?

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Beach + mountains- Vancouver best of both worlds.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Estimating 9/5, 7w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: still waiting on the first appointment on the 28th

How are you feeling?: I felt pretty shitty the past week (nausea all day long, extreme fatigue) and thought the morning sickness was starting, but I've felt much better the past couple of days. So either I had a stomach bug, or morning sickness will be a rollercoaster

Rants/Raves: Made a whole big dinner last night only to realize it was made with ingredients pregnant women cant have! (meats full of nitrates)

Questions: None - it's a relief to read that other people have rollercoaster symptoms!

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? I think I'd pick the beach. I love both, but mountains sound like I'd want to go on a hike or something and I have no energy at the moment
    Third kid: Due 11/6
    Second kid: Dec 2021
    First kid: Sept 2019
  • **Lurking from Week 4** @naveed7 I’m sorry for your loss. It can be hard to get 100% excited about pregnancy after that experience. Women who can relate to you often post in the PGAL (Pregnant After Loss) thread. You are most welcome to join us.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/5, 7w1d

Baby is the size of a: blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday! Please come quickly.

How are you feeling?: Nauseous, tired, and bloated. But not feeling as queasy as often this week.

Rants/Raves: I'm so ready to tell my mom. We weren't ready at 4/5 weeks, fine either way at 6 weeks, and now at 7 weeks it's killing me not to tell her. Husband told me it was fine to spill the beans if I want now, but we're so close to the first appointment that we might as well wait. And I was planning to ship off a little gift for them to open when we're video chatting for the announcement and I haven't gotten that in the mail yet. Soo...the waiting game continues.

Questions: How often are ultrasounds done at first OB appointments? I'll be exactly 8w, but I have no idea if they typically send you out for that, do it on a second appointment, etc. I really want to get confirmation that there's actually something inside there. I have intermittent one-sided pain most nights. It's not constant and I've had zero spotting, so I'm it doesn't sound like an ectopic pregnancy, but I'm also of course stupidly worried and want confirmation.

GTKY: Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Ha! I like both, but my husband hates beach vacations so we do a lot of mountain vacations. I made him promise years ago that I'd get a babymoon in Hawaii. Then I got all sad that we probably won't do much international travel once baby is born. So now the babymoon is in Iceland. In late February. I'm insane, but hopefully we'll get to see the Northern Lights.
  • @tacos-and-taquitos Maybe you could call and ask if you will have an u/s that visit? It probably varies some by provider but mine schedules the first appt in the 8-10w range and does do an u/s right in the office - although this time no one mentioned that to me, and I just assumed because I remember it happening last time (and then found it in tiny tiny print on some paperwork they sent me). Iceland in Feb sounds different and awesome, here's hoping you see the northern lights!
  • @ternsetc You're right, I should probably just call so I know what to expect. Thanks for sharing your experience!
  • EDD 9/1 / 8 weeks today!

Baby is the size of a Raspberry

Next appointment: Wednesday 1/22- weekly ultrasounds and labs. I’m being monitored closely since I’m geriatric in the world of pregnancy (35 yo) and I also almost died from a ruptured ectopic 4 months ago. But tbh I love seeing the baby grow!

Feeling: Fatigued, occasional nausea/heartburn, hungry a lot more then usual, occasional headaches, insane sense of smell that makes me gag a lot!

    R/Rs: None at this point

    Qs: None at this point

GTKY: Beach all day. But beaches with mountains that meet the sea is a great compromise!  Actually, I’m headed to Exuma, Bahamas next Thursday for 5 days!!!
  • @tacos-and-taquitos yea, I think it depends on the provider and where you’re at with your annual. Mine the last few times has coincided with my annual so they do an annual and an in office pregnancy test then have me come back for an ultrasound (because they cannot “double dip” annual and ultrasound.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/5 7w+3d

Baby is the size of a(n): Blueberry/uncooked macaroni

Upcoming Appointments: 2/20 for 12-week NIPT + Panorama

How are you feeling?: Nauseous most of the time, no appetite in the evening. Fun fun fun. But also, very excited to be having a healthy pregnancy.

Rants/Raves: MH and I went for our 1st appointment with my OB on Friday. My office doesn't do an appointment for confirmation, so it was exciting to know that, yes, I am indeed KO. We got to chat with him for a while, he's a very very in-demand OB in NYC who is known for having a sense of humor and impeccable skill, so I'm happy to be working with him. We were able to get a picture with a pelvic sonogram and see our little blob for the first time. Also, we were super relived that it is a singleton, as twins run in both our families! We were also able to listen to the heartbeat and that was just the coolest thing ever! I'm really excited for my 12-week so I can see the progress in growth! Baby was measuring 5 days later than MLP so I moved on over from the A16 BMB to here!

Questions: I got a lot of my questions answered at my appointment, so I think I'm good here! Anybody else only want to eat carbs all the time?

GTKY: (stolen from Group 4) Would you rather have a beach or mountains vacation and why? Beach! Especially with this horrible weather in NY, I'd love to be laying on the beach getting some sun.
  • @laurenmicheley Hi Lauren! Fellow New Yorker - from Long Island. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy! ☺️
  • @blondie1314 Thanks a bunch and to you, too! I grew up on LI and my family still lives there, but MH and I live in Brooklyn!
