Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): apple seed or orange seed depending on the app

    Upcoming Appointments: January 24th

How are you feeling?: Bloated and extra hungry. Sometimes I also get this weird taste at the back of my throat. It's not really metallic.... just weird.

Rants/Raves: I am so ready to put on maternity pants. This bloat is crazy. I ordered a few things from Motherhood the other day because apparently I only managed to keep one pair of maternity jeans from before.

    Questions: Nope!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5w1-3d (I don't know how long my cycles were averaging, so it depends)

Baby is the size of a(n): same. Although one app said a lentil, so currently referring to embryo as Lenny. Lol

Upcoming Appointments: Feb 7th ... Doesn't seem any closer than last week

How are you feeling?: The bloat and sore boobs hit this weekend but other than that still feeling great.

@mommyshark13 it looks like I'll be living in leggings until I can justify buying new pants! All my jeans are high waisted so not helping the situation.

Rants/Raves: I spent the weekend cleaning/organizing/purging and it feels great. For some reason getting rid of stuff clears space in my head too.

Questions: Why is there so much variation in the quality of ultrasounds? Seems like it's more that just positioning... Some seem so grainy!

We forgot a GTKY question, but I'm horrible at this so someone else make a suggestion please
  • Options
GTKY suggestion, based on currently FB meme: What is your favorite song &/or musician/band now & what was your favorite song &/or musician/band ten years ago?
  • Options
@pennylane91 ... Have you been watching Marie Kondo?! ^_~*
@mommyshark13 I feel like our symptoms are super similar. Weird not really metal taste is happening for me, super rarely though. I am glad you at least have one pair of maternity pants! I think I need to go through my closet already and figure out stuff I normally would wear to work that I just can't anymore so that getting dressed in the morning when the semester starts isn't as challenging as it was this morning when I didn't have anywhere to be until the early afternoon, thankfully...

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/13 / 5w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): apple seed

Upcoming Appointments: I go in Wed. to see if my HDC & Progesterone are rising appropriately. FX!

How are you feeling?: Bloatttteddd. Sometimes short of breath? Otherwise, like I am not getting everything done I need to be getting done, but that's "more than a feeling."

Rants/Raves: RANTS: DH has been in a really bad place these past few days & I'm really struggling with how to help him best. He wants me to help him find and book an appointment at a therapist's office. He is really concerned about being a good dad, and I think it's in big part about how bad he is with money. I am glad I am still feeling Symptoms Lite® right now, otherwise having to talk him down so often might be a lot harder than it already is. RAVES: Low on the raves today. Despite feeling unproductive/unable to complete tasks, I at least feel organized. I have a lot of my daily goals lined up for this week in my Passion Planner, a little tracker glued in there for water, and another cute pad w/ a weekly layout for meal planning that I started to fill in this morning. I love paper products that assist with organization/staying organized. Now: to reach the goals I've set...

Questions: I am usually pretty fit/lean, but my bloat is showing & that makes me self-conscious. I am having trouble dressing to leave the house because of it. I don't think anyone would be rude enough to ask if I were KU, but--just... any first tri dressing tips for a FTM?

GTKY (just gonna go w/ my suggestions!) What is your favorite song &/or musician/band now & what was your favorite song &/or musician/band ten years ago? NOW: my fave musicians are probably Tom Waits and the National and Fiona Apple & I don't think I have a fave song, I like so many, but I DO love that Marc Ronson/Bruno Mars jam"Uptown Funk" perhaps more than I should... / THEN: my fave song was definitely "Anything You Want" by Spoon & I may have still listed Tom Waits at the time as a fave artist.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Not sure yet, early September I think: 4W (?)D (my first appointment is tomorrow then I will know all this.

Baby is the size of a(n): according to the app, a poppyseed!

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow I am meeting with my OBGYN for my first initial appointment. I went last week and this morning for hcg levels. As of last Friday, I was around 1,271 hcg about 2/3 weeks into pregnancy and as of this morning I am at 5,516 - which my doctor says is good, so that makes me a little less nervous (only a little though haha).

How are you feeling?: I am feeling good! I am so happy so everything that kind of needs to change as a result of this news... doesn't phase me that much. Some of my symptoms are that I am freezing, I literally can't stop peeing, I am thirsty, my nipples hurt, I am gassy and I have this dull cramp sensation in my uterus, very dull.

Rants/Raves: Rant - how the hell do I stop thinking the worst and worrying! I am getting a little better but....man 12 weeks cannot come soon enough.

Questions: ^ any advice for these worries? Also, Why am I being such a fool and being nervous for my appointment tomorrow... I think it is because I know it will involve a pap, which I hate but I mean...I guess I better suck it up because I have the feeeeeeling there will be lots of doctors around my downstairs over the next 9 months hahaha.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 6 weeks 0 days - EDD 9.9.19

Baby is the size of a(n): "A metal earring back" according to my daily fact - how random. Alternatively, a sweet pea.

Upcoming Appointments: Friday 1/18 is my first U/S at RE. I can't wait, I really want to see the heartbeat! And confirm if we have a singleton or not. We had 3 follicles when we did the IUI...

How are you feeling?: I had my first nausea wave this morning. It came on all of a sudden and lasted about 30 minutes. I have since been treating today like I have a hangover and I feel better. Ate McDonalds, got a Coca-Cola. Not a great weight control plan, but girl I had to get myself to work somehow! Other than that my symptoms have just been slightly sore nipples and have been really cold all the time.

Rants/Raves: Just really looking forward to U/S on Friday!
    Questions: No.

GTKY: What is your favorite song &/or musician/band now & what was your favorite song &/or musician/band ten years ago?
NOW: I never get to listen to music except for Baby Shark. I love listening to podcasts when I'm in the car alone. I am currently listening to an Australian podcast called "Hello Bump" which is a pregnancy podcast by month. I love it. I also recommend "Mamamia Outloud" podcast, another Australian one.
THEN: Probably Blink 182. I recently listened to my favorite albums on a nostalgic day, and I still love them.

Baby is the size of a(n): A BB Pellet according to Ovia

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday 1/30 - can't come soon enough!!

How are you feeling?: Nausea hit today... just a constant below the surface feeling that I may be ill any time I open my mouth. Thats fun at work. I remember this lasting a long time with my first pregnancy. But I am PgaL so I am grateful for the symptoms to ease my anxiety.

    Rants/Raves:  None.

    Questions: None.

GTKY: What is your favorite song &/or musician/band now & what was your favorite song &/or musician/band ten years ago?  I'm a big country music fan... always have been, would be hard for me to pick just one!!

@novaselkie As a FTM, I too am super worried/anxious/etc, too! I feel like it goes back and forth, though, like, some days I am fine & other days I am like "when is 1st tri over." I find that distracting myself with things I need to do, esp. when they involve talking to other people/leaving the house/doing stuff, has been really helpful because it helps keep my thoughts more broad--when I'm alone and trying to work on something, it's so much harder. I guess I am also saying: I feel like I can't stop thinking about the fact I am pregnant, and the longer I think about it, the more time my mind has to create worry. But when I'm around people who have zero clue what's going on in there, I create less worry. IDK if this helps at all, but at least: you are not alone w/ those fears/anxieties!

@aussie&yank ! OMG also still <3 some blink182! Particularly "Miss You" has aged really well.
  • Options
@novaselkie also FTM who can't stop worrying. I imagine I'll feel a little better after the first appt, but you're definitely not alone! Side note: are you Scottish? I was noticing your username.

@kagesstarshroom thanks for the GTKY suggestion and no! Haven't been watching that show yet, though I've heard it's making people crazy. It was more of a fresh start to a new year/ need to get rid of stuff in the 'junk room' so that one day it can house a LO. LOL

I have a super wide range in music taste and tend to pick faves based on my current mood. I've also found that the older I get, the less 'aware' I am of the music scene.... It tends to be so generational (I'll second the love of blink). But I love Ray Lamontagne, ODESZA, DMB, ZBB. (obvs I love the classics per username)

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:5w 5d

Baby is the size of a(n): the opening of a straw (but what size straw who knows. Also the size of then eraser on a new no2 pencil!

Upcoming Appointments: February 1st. First prenatal!

How are you feeling?:VERY BLOATED. My boobs hurt.

Rants/Raves: MATERNITY JEANS ARE MY LIFE ALREADY. I feel like it’s too soon but the bloat is real I look 4 months pregnant (wasn’t skinny to begin with but girl I’m bloated)

Questions: is it normal to not have any “real” symptoms? Only symptoms I have is breast pain and bloating. (And a missed period of course) is it just too early for me to have symptoms. I’m 6w on Wednesday.
  • Options
@furmomof3furlessontheway I would say "yes" to your question, though I'm a FTM so I can only speak from what I've read, not experience--everything I read about "early pregnancy"--basically, pre-6 weeks-- says that you can feel pretty normal to a certain extent. I also keep describing most of my symptoms as Symptoms Lite--except, really, breast pain & bloating which are more For Real. I wouldn't worry!

@pennylane91 Yeah, we haven't gotten to the stage of "omg we're pregnant!" where we worry about our extremely cluttered house yet. AND, I used to feel REALLY behind on "contemporary" music until I got Spotify? It makes checking out new stuff way simpler. I have a whole, like, plan that helps me listen to new/differentish stuff using Spotify haha.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5w45days according to dr

Baby is the size of a(n): the opening of a straw (what does that mean)?

Upcoming Appointments: I had an appointment yesterday where they saw sac, yolk and fetal pole. I’ll need to schedule an appointment next week to hopefully see a heartbeat. I was really happy to see things progressing as I had properly freaked myself out using goggle

How are you feeling?: anxious and nauseous and so so bone tired. And nauseous :(

    Rants/Raves:
I’ll start w raves: my husband came with me to the dr bc I’ve been overcome w anxiety and he wanted to be there for me. I know he’s super busy at work and the fact that he took that time means a lot. Also, my littles have been so well behaved even though I haven’t been that much fun recently.

Rants: I can’t get anything done. Nothing. I am usually very high energy so it’s so frustrating that I can’t will myself to get it together.

    Questions: none right now.

gtky: i love all music but I’ve always been a hip hop fan.  I used to love wu tang clan and these days I’ve been listening to Travis scott and drake but the oldies are still the best.

@furmomof3furlessontheway those are my only symptoms so far too.

I guess I should do the GTKY since I missed it. I love, love, love Incubus. They have been my favorite for at least ten years. My favorite song of theirs is Anna Molly, but really I love pretty much all of them.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD 9/14 (I think it might be closer to the 20th) 5weeks 3 days

Baby is the size of a(n): #2 pencil eraser

    Upcoming Appointments: Feb 6th

How are you feeling?: TIRED! My boobs are finally not as sore so that’s nice. I have just been so tired and wonky pregnancy dreams keeping me up aren’t helping.

Rants/Raves: I have started cleaning out stuff. I am jumping on the bad wagon of konmari. I feel amazing about going through all of my clothes and the fun folding, but I don’t think I am going to be able to convince DH to do his clothes and they really need to be done. 🙄

Questions: This is probably a weird question but oh well. Any moms of 2plus; how much did your boobs grow with the second? Mine grew a lot with the first and I have very large boobs. I really don’t want them to get any bigger. DH says they already are 👎

GTKY: I like a pretty wide range of music but my favorite has pretty much been the same for the last 10yrs because I love me some Motley.

Baby is the size of a(n): Appleseed

    Upcoming Appointments: U/S on 1/23

How are you feeling?: I caught this horrible cold from DS, so I feel awful, but none of it is pregnancy related.

Rants/Raves: This cold is kicking my butt. And DS having it too is so hard.

Questions: STM+, I heard you can show earlier your 2nd+ time. Last time I didn't really start showing until closer to 20wks, how soon did you show the 2nd time?

GTKY (just gonna go w/ my suggestions!) What is your favorite song &/or musician/band now & what was your favorite song &/or musician/band ten years ago?

I was really into punk/ska back then. So I'd probably say something like Reel big fish or Less Than Jake.

I still like it but my taste has grown too. I never thought I'd ever like country and I do now.

@rms924 Oooo me too on the getting nothing done. But--if you don't mind some advice--count your smaller successes. Like, sometimes I put things I do automatically on my to-do list bc that sort of "indivisible labor" is still productivity, it's just harder to see unless you can cross it off. Also, I taught a class on hip hop & poetry early in my grad student career! I also love hip hop, but it took some time to grow on me. I think I wrote it off at first simply because my brother liked it, & we were "so different." But then I couldn't deny liking some songs... and then some albums...and then, poof, decades later I'm teaching a class wherein I am introducing an entire new generation to MC Lyte & Run DMC etc.

@hanshotfirst77 omg yessss to ska! love those two bands! RBF "Turn the Radio Off" was the first CD I bought for myself. (The first I owned was No Doubt "Tragic Kingdom"--but that was a gift.) I can still sing all the words on both, I'm sure. (Also, my hip hop loving bro loves RBF? He got into some of my "weird" music, too over time haha.)

@kagesstarshroom omg me too on knowing all the words. It's funny that I can still remember them all even though I totally don't listen to it as much as I used to. RBF's "Cheer Up" album was almost always in my car cd player in highschool.

    *lurking...I guess? From g3*

@mommyshark13 I was a huge Incubus fan with my HS BFF waaaaaay back in the day. We went to like 3 concerts the same summer. 🤣 I haven’t heard any of their more recent music, but I did listen to some “oldies” on Amazon prime a few days ago.
  • Options
@lillywonderland They were touring with Jimmy Eat World last year (I think? Maybe 2 years ago) and I wanted to go soooo bad. I've never seen them live and really need to change that.
  • Options
@mommyshark13 100% went to that Incubus and Jimmy Eat World concert. Still a big fan.

I already intro-ed but I am going to do the GTKY. Now: Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness, Sam Smith, Foo Fighters (forever until I die Dave Grohl is my love). Then (and still now, honestly): Blink 192, Flogging Molly, Incubus, Panic! At the Disco, Green Day, Zero 7
  • Options
@cmdesigner We saw Flogging Molly back in September with the Dropkick Murphys. AMAZING!! I think they’re touring in the States again in the Spring. Might have to convince DH to go again!!

@cmdesigner & @mommyshark13 & @lillywonderland sooo not-so-humble brag re: flogging molly-- when my stepsister and i were 16, i won tix in philly to see the bosstones & flogging molly was their we'd-never-heard-of-them opener. we went & they hung outside after the show so we were like "ommg yall are so goood!" & bob & dennis (mandolinist & guitar player) said they'd put us on the guest list for their next show that weekend at a college in PA & we showed up (they were kind of surprised we showed & gave us a bunch of free merch lol)--so for my teen years, we were always on the guest list for their shows when they came around philly & if not we'd just find one of them & they'd throw us on. i saw them when i lived in boston during undergrad (wherein they made me take all the extra food in their green room back to my first apartment) &, like 5 years ago, we got to go backstage at the electric factory after surprising them at their philly show after my sister hadn't seen them for, like, ever. thennn, the weekend of my birthday almost two years ago, we surprised them by showing up to their new orleans show & went out to eat with bob afterwards. i always wanted to go on their cruise??? it looks like it would be super fun. maybe someday!
yall lurkers are always free to lurk in on group 2. =P

@kagesstarshroom Niiiice. DH and I saw Paramore and Plain White T's at a Simple.Plan concert before either were big and got to briefly meet the members. But it was like a hi and a handshake type of thing lol

@kagesstarshroom I am dying. Flogging Molly has a special place in my heart for a lot of reasons. I have seen them 3x. Once, I was pinned against the front row barricade for the whole show. Towards the end the security guard pulled me over and let me chill next to the stage. After it was over Nathen jumped down from the stage, hugged me, gave me a kiss on the cheek and said I was a trooper for sticking that one out. Life made. They’re amazing.

I thought THAT was a good story but you totally win 😂

@mommyshark13  and I'm from jersey--but i lived in philly for 6 years after I got my MA & before I moved south. and that's super cool about those bands! i feel like having the experience w/ FM when i was a teen made me... never afraid to tell an artist/musician/anyone that I was into what they were doing--and i'm so glad I'm like that because people really appreciate hearing that.

@cmdesigneri think it's so cool when musicians are like awesomely nice people in addition to being super rad musicians, you know? that's so cool that he noticed--a kiss on the cheek! ☺️

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 9/9/19 / 6w3d (Full disclosure: Based off my LMP my EDD is around 9/5, but based on ovulation it's 9/9... so I'm sticking with 9/9 until I get an official estimate at my ultrasound appt!)

Baby is the size of a(n): Lentil

Upcoming Appointments: First sonogram on Monday 1/21! By my count I should be just 7w1d by then, so hopefully it's not too early.

How are you feeling?: Mostly good. Taking more afternoon naps when I can, and I've started to get a little nausea here and there that goes away when I eat something.

Rants/Raves: My husband and I just got back from a long weekend in Charleston; we had such a nice time! Now I'm back to the office in my first official day in my new role... though I'm still balancing some of my old responsibilities for the foreseeable future. It's going to be a tough couple of weeks/months doing parts of two jobs while pregnant!

    Questions:

GTKY What is your favorite song &/or musician/band now & what was your favorite song &/or musician/band ten years ago?: I don't care who makes fun of me; my two favorite bands of all time will always be the Backstreet Boys and Hootie & The Blowfish. Funny enough, I have tickets to see both of them in July - when I'm (hopefully) 7 or 8 months pregnant!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Sept 9th/6w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Upcoming Appointments: have an ultrasound appy today

How are you feeling?: feeling super anxious. Last ultrasound showed nothing but my hcg was only in the 500s so there's a lot riding on this one.

Rants/Raves: finally getting over my cold. Still not 100% but at least I can breathe and I'm not coughing up a lung and I can actually sleep through the night. My boobs are killing me though. I can't sleep on my tummy like I normally do because of my tender breasts. Guess I should get used to that.

    Questions: none

GTKY: I guess my favorite song right now would be Mia by Bad Bunny and Drake. Really into regaetton right now. 10 years ago I think it would be safe to say Beyonce, although she is always awesome. Just saw her on tour a few months ago.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Sept 11/ 6weeks 1day

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Upcoming Appointments: I had an appointment yesterday with my family dr. To confirm pregnancy. He referred me to the prenatal clinic in town and for a dating ultrasound.

How are you feeling?: so much nausea this time around. But other then that good.

Rants/Raves: We told our families and they are so excited for us. DH mom was so happy I think she though our daughter would be her only grandchild so she is just over the moon and hoping we have a boy this time.

    Questions: none

GTKY: I like anything country right now. 10 years ago would have been country also. Lol

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Sept 12, 2019/ 7 weeks today apparently

Baby is the size of a(n): Altoid!

Upcoming Appointments: I had my first Midwife appt today, had to get a Stat Ultrasound to make sure things were going ok! The Dr told me the fetus is smaller than it should be, so I'm hoping for it to grow to the right size in the next two weeks!

How are you feeling?: Overwhelmed. This was not planned, nor expected.

Rants/Raves: My boobs hurt ALL THE TIME. I can't wear a bra or sleep normally because of it. :/ Also, nausea and morning sickness is hitting hard right now, so I'm not necessarily enjoying that.

Questions: Oh, this is hard! 10 years ago, I was loving Atmosphere, Cheap Trick and Panic!
Today is Atmosphere (I love him), Above and Beyond, and Die Antwoord.

@btifulriotI'm also in the "killer boobs" dept-- I've been wearing sports bras to bed, which has been super helpful. When I forget to wear one, I have a much harder time sleeping/staying asleep! During the day, I have other non-underwired bras I've been wearing for the most part.

My EDD is changed as of my appt today--but this is, in many ways, good news bc it means my appt went well! We are now 9/16 instead of 9/13, so next week I will have to move over to Group 3!

Baby is the size of a(n): Sweet Pea

    Upcoming Appointments: U/S on 2/7

How are you feeling?: Breast tenderness had been constant but varying in severity each day. My appetite has been much smaller than usual and with mild nausea throughout the day I've been losing weight.

Rants/Raves: I'm so tired I can barely function after 7:30 at night. The bright side is my husband gazes at me in the most adorable way and we've spent more time that usual relaxing together .

Questions: none I can think of atm.
