Due date: appointments/questions: rant/rave: how you’re feeling: gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion?
Due date: 4/18 appointments/questions: nope just the GD monitoring rant/rave: it’s getting more and more difficult to bend down or put on pants or roll over. And I’m still dealing with insurance issues. I am so over dealing with red tape bs. how you’re feeling: Tired. So very tired. gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? Yes, we are 90% sure we are done after this one. If we hit the lottery then maybe we’d have one more. Maybe. This pregnancy has been rough and since DDs was as well I going with the assumption that a 3rd would be too. And I am high risk already so I want to be done by 35 to avoid adding yet another high risk factor. Plus DD is super crazy and hyperactive, this one is shaping up to be the same and I don’t think we could handle 3 like that without help (literal and financial). I’m also pretty much guaranteed to have GD again and be on insulin which is just a lot on my body physically and emotionally.

Me:32 DH:33 Married:04/2012 DD:07/2014 BFP 8/14/2018 #2 due 4/18/2019
Due date: 4/15 appointments/questions: Had an US appointment yesterday. BP check on Friday. Boys look pretty good -1lb 14oz and 2lbs each so they're growing nicely! rant/rave: rant: My freaking BP going up. And all the suggestions I see online for how to handle it - cut out caffeine and alcohol (lol ok...did that months ago) rest more (easier said than done bucko) up protein (I have about 120g a day already). Just don't love adding the stress of "Is my pre-e coming back? Also I can't sleep for shit anymore. how you’re feeling: tired. so so tired. gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? Well, ultimately we planned on three, so when we found out it was twins it was pretty much like, oh cool. We can close the books on that. But I don't think we're quite there yet. My OB brought up post delivery BC with me last week and after I talked to DH, I think I'm going to get an IUD (or Mirena or whatever it is) instead of him getting a vasectomy right away. While I don't think four is in the cards for us, I don't think either of us is ready to commit 100% to being finished.
appointments/questions: I had one yesterday and glucose test on the 24th. It's already every 2 weeks appt time??
rant/rave: I have a killer cold & I just don't want to be THE CAREGIVER today, blech.
how you’re feeling: I can't sleep and it sucks. I'm tossing & turning all damn night trying to get comfy + the previously mentioned cold keeping me coughing at night.
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? Well, we were supposed to be OAD until this little surprise came along, lol. Hopefully DH will be getting a vasectomy sometime this year. Done having bio kids, but we both would like to foster when the kiddos are older.
Due date: April 20th appointments/questions: I have an appointment with the midwife on the 18th, and then the doctor to discuss sick leave on the 23rd, until then just making time pass...
rant/rave: Omg I started a water aerobics class for pregnant women last night, and it was so great!! I would highly recommend it if you have the possibility where you live. It's run by a midwife and we were about 12 people bumping around and paddling in circles with pool noodles between our legs . It seems like a fun group of women and we also get to practice relaxation and breathing for the delivery. + the belly feels so much lighter in the water! Magic!
how you’re feeling: Walking hurts, stepping into my undies hurt so bad and I just want to lie in the sofa all day. Please give me energy to work a little longer!!
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We always talked about having 2 kids, and now that we're having twins it might be it. We'll see though, because I know DH was hoping for a daughter to teach tech to lol but we would have to find more stable jobs and buy a house before even considering more kids.
Due date: 4/20 - eviction date at the latest is set for 4/16
appointments/questions: level 2 u/s on 1/30 and OB on 1/31
rant/rave: Sciatic pain sucks. DH is getting closer to finishing the basement so he's my rave. I've felt terrible the last few weeks and he's been rocking it. Hopefully we can pick out flooring this weekend and I think he's going to take a couple days off in the next week or two to install it.
how you’re feeling: Tired. I can't get comfortable at night, I'm getting hot despite sleeping in shorts and a tank top (like always). Plus my asthma has flared up so I'm really not sleeping right now.
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We want to see how we feel 6 months to a year after this LO is born to decide. For us, it's more about feeling if our family is complete or not. We've always wavered between 2-3. We each come from 3 kid households so that's what feels right. But, we shall see.
Due date: 4/18 appointments/questions: thyroid labs on the 18th and prenatal on the 24th rant/rave: I puked again this morning. I really do not mind the other symptoms (being tired, being sore, etc.) but this one needs to eff off forever. I'm so over it, and really hating the constant broken blood vessels on my face that look like red freckles. how you’re feeling: In addition to the above, +1 to being utterly exhausted again. Third trimester starts in about a week so I'm not surprised. gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We are OAD, and DH is getting a vasectomy in March.
Due date: April 16 Appointments/questions: I did my glucose test on Saturday and passed!! Next appointment in 2 weeks. Rant/Rave: Nesting in full swing over here. Combined with the usual new years organization kick I am going all out. Trying to harness every last drop of 2nd tri energy while it lasts. How you’re feeling: I had crazy heart palpitations last night that would not go away. I'm going to call my doc when the office opens this AM. Also I noticed that my nipples were leaking...like actual drips Over achievers... GTKY: Have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? This is it for us. I have always wanted 3 and I turned 35 this year. We've been discussing DH getting a vasectomy but I'm not sure I'm ready to be permanently done. We will discuss around the 6 week appointment and make a decision then. If we aren't 100% sure we are done then I will get another Mirena. No joke though, pregnancy at 35 is not the same as pregnancy at 29. I'm kind of over it.
Due date: April 14th Appointments/questions: Passed my glucose last week, next appt not until 1/23 Rant/Rave:Rave - my shower gifts starting to be delivered from my registry! Guess I should get on organizing the nursery...Rant - arguing with DH over the pre-baby To-Do list. We need to move some office furniture out of the nursery before I feel like I can actually start organizing and decorating, and DH giving me a hard time thinking we still have loads of time... going to start taking matters into my own hands, but with the 3rd tri exhaustion creeping on, I could use his help! Cue next question... How you’re feeling: TIRED! I guess it's a common symptom around now after reading the other responses...I've been tossing and turning at night the past week or so, and have noticed an uptick in the frequency of needing to pee....I'm still not that 'big' and feel physically comfortable, so was surprised by the insomnia hitting this soon. Great! GTKY:Have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? This is only our first pregnancy (and thus far has been pretty complication-free), I'm one of 4 and DH is one of 3, so yes - definitely planning on having more. We think 3 is a good number, but only time will tell and I am 31 already. I guess we'll have to start planning for #2 right around #1's first bday... Twins next time around would be nice.
Appointments/Questions: Not actually an appointment, but I ended up in L&D triage over the weekend for testing and monitoring. See the How you're feeling comments for details. My next regular appointment is January 25.
Rant/Rave: DD is on day 6 of tummy troubles due to a stomach bug. We saw her pediatrician yesterday and he said we can probably expect another week of it. I'm so ready for her to be over it, and I know she is too. She's extra clingy and whiny when she's sick, and I just don't have the energy to carry her around like she wants me too.
How you’re feeling: On Saturday, I ended up having to go to L&D triage due to some significantly high blood pressure readings and sudden swelling of the hands and feet that started on Friday. They wanted to rule out preeclampsia, especially considering I had it with my first. Thankfully all the tests came back normal and my pressure had stabilized before they released me. For now, I'm keeping a daily log of my BP and keeping my doc informed. Other than that, I continue to just be exhausted all the time. It's getting harder to pick up DD, and I feel guilty about it, especially since she's sick right now. So, of course, I've overdone it and have managed to pull or strain something in my side.
GTKY: Have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? I originally thought that I'd like to have 3 kids, but after discussing it with DH, we're probably going to stop at 2. This pregnancy has been difficult, and I know it won't get any easier as I get older. That's not to say that, given the right circumstances, we won't consider another down the line, but right now it doesn't look likely.
appointments/questions: Had one last week. All looks good!
rant/rave:
how you’re feeling: It's definitely getting hard to pick up stuff of the ground and put on socks!
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? Yes, he is 100% done. I'm still like 3 would be a nice, but 3 also scares me. If he's willing to get snipped, I'll probably go with it. I don't want to be on birth control anymore. It's terrible for your body and the environment.
Due date: 4/18 appointments/questions: I had a fetal echo last week, an appt with the MFM this morning and I'm heading to my ob this afternoon
rant/rave: I hate being pregnant during cold weather this time, I don't have clothes that fit me and I don't want to buy new ones since SoCal "cold" is short lived and this is my last pregnancy
how you’re feeling: lots of pelvic pain when i stand and walk, I'm not sure I can continue working for long
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We are quite certain we are done with 2 but no plans to permanently prevent it. I've always maintained that I'm open to a third but only through adoption, this pregnancy has showed me I don't really want to do this again
Due date: 4/15 appointments/questions: I have a checkup tomorrow and I’m sure we are scheduling my GD test that day
rant/rave: my appointment was scheduled for 12/26. I showed up to find a sign on the door saying they are out for the holidays. Cool, thanks for calling and letting me know so we could reschedule. When I called them about it I got no apology and they were annoyed to “ fit me in” to the books. If I wasn’t almost in the 3rd tri I would be finding a new OB.
how you’re feeling: exhausted and stressed. We are going to be homeless soon ( March 1st) if we can’t renovate our new space in time. State board scheduled me for my test way earlier than I anticipated so I have barely anytime to study, and DH refuses to get a second job to help relieve some financial stress that we now have with this move.
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? we originally wanted 5, but I feel like I’m too old for that even though I’m only 26. I don’t want to pop them out one after the other so we will likely have one more and be done. I don’t want to be potty training in my 40’s. This pregnancy has sucked some seriously hairy balls so far, but we still don’t feel complete.
appointments/questions: next appt is glucose test in 2 weeks
rant/rave: we’re not living in our house because the hardwood and plywood flooring are both getting refinished! Exciting but a little unsettling that our house is such chaos.
how you’re feeling: fantastic physically, mentally still anxious but it’s manageable.
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We’ve always said we’d wait and see. So far, the ease of this pregnancy has really convinced me and us to have another one. We’ll see what my labor and the sleepless nights with a new baby do to convince us otherwise!
Due date: 4/16 appointments/questions: had my GD test last week and have a regular nurse visit either this Tuesday or the next (pregnancy brain)
rant/rave: Rant- had a high school student with Autism (who I do not know at all) come up to me and roughly listen to my belly then kiss me very low on the belly. Getting more and more weary of the more rambunctious kids at work getting near my bump. Also- the bump is huge. My friend is a few weeks behind me and keeps complaining about being tiny 😅. Not me. I'm huge and my back hurts like all the time!
Rave- DH woke up at 5 today to snow blow our huge driveway. I feel guilty sleeping while he does it, but he is doing a fabulous job taking care of me/baby. His skeptical, engineer butt is even sitting through hypnobirthing with me! Props to that man 😍😍
how you’re feeling: good, except for... Back pain, puking in my mouth a little more often than I'd like, constant gas, and not being able to touch my toes!
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We always wanted more than one. I think knowing we're having a boy has convinced me to try again for a girl and if we have two boys I think we'll consider adopting a little girl. We keep posing the idea of twin boys second (twins run in my family) and in that case we would be done and I'll have to hope I can get my little girl fix from a niece someday.
@kayceebaby1I am a school social worker and I am getting really skeptical of the kids who are rambunctious as well. My principal has put me on "desk duty," so if there is a crisis, I'm only to respond once they are calm (aka, not throwing chairs, running, pushing, etc).
@lyse01 I kinda love Silly, Lily and Lena. Although Nellie and Lennie are super adorable.
We had agreed on 3 kids originally but since pregnancy is really rough for me we kinda made the “maybe 2 is totally good” decision recently. Although neither one of us wants to commit 100% to being done after this. I don’t honestly know if we’ll have the finances for 3 and I may have another rough labor, delivery and PP that makes me more certain that we are done.
But funny enough my phone keeps autocorrecting done to somebody and its making me laugh in this instance.
I guess we’ll see.

Due date: 4/16
appointments/questions: GD test next week
rant/rave: I’m pooping again! Bless you magnesium supplements
how you’re feeling: heartburn is starting to make an appearance, but otherwise good
gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We haven’t discussed it, but I imagine we’ll want a second
Crap guys... Got the call that I need to do the 3 hour GD test. The good news is they want me to carbo load beforehand (has anyone heard if this?) By eating carbs/starches with every meal plus a soda/candy bar/cake each day in addition. Good thing it's the baby moon this weekend and I was already planning to eat poorly (or deliciously, depends on perspective).
@kayceebaby1 That’s actually really weird to me. I find that advice is usually to eat and act normally so you don’t end up with false positives or negatives.
Do do you normally not eat carbs or sugar? I can maybe see it if you don’t tend to usually have that stuff and they want to see how you respond to “average foods” to gauge “average levels” or something?

Due date:4/21 appointments/questions: appointment tomorrow 1/11 rant/rave: got that weird brownish line this week. So many lovely changes to my body 😳 only 14.5weeks to go but who’s counting? how you’re feeling: pretty good physically, definitely self conscious with all the changes to my body with work because I only see some of my customers monthly it’s awkward to tell all the men I work with. Oh well, most are very excited for me so I’ll just have to get through it but I definitely hate it. gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? My husband wants a basketball team as many as possible haha he’s lucky he’s getting one! But probably 2 so he’s not an only. I had an iud for years then just timed it with pull out for years but that might be tough when periods are irregular after birth. Not sure if I’d like to have the second and final close to the first or when the first is 3/4 so we have time to enjoy the new baby and I can get back to normal physically.
@fuzzywombat lol. This kid had a first and a middle set in stone if it was a boy before we even conceived. We did have a girls first name picked out already but have yet to solidify a middle so I think we started ahead of the curve.
Although watch it me all the way to being in labor and still not be decided on a middle name for this one. I oddly enough find middle names harder then first names.

gtky: have you talked with SO about if you’ll have any more kids? How has this pregnancy changed that discussion? We’ve always said we’d wait and see. So far, the ease of this pregnancy has really convinced me and us to have another one. We’ll see what my labor and the sleepless nights with a new baby do to convince us otherwise!
appointments/questions: had my GD test last week and have a regular nurse visit either this Tuesday or the next (pregnancy brain)
rant/rave:
Rant- had a high school student with Autism (who I do not know at all) come up to me and roughly listen to my belly then kiss me very low on the belly.
And yet....I totally thought of a hypothetical third girls name yesterday.
W. T. F. No. No. No.

Sylvia, Liliana and Helena.
Still working on nickname potential from it though. Helen? Lena..?
And DH didn’t shoot it down either.
Why brain? WHY?

Do do you normally not eat carbs or sugar? I can maybe see it if you don’t tend to usually have that stuff and they want to see how you respond to “average foods” to gauge “average levels” or something?

appointments/questions: appointment tomorrow 1/11
rant/rave: got that weird brownish line this week.
Although watch it me all the way to being in labor and still not be decided on a middle name for this one. I oddly enough find middle names harder then first names.
