I started my cycle on January 03 and have done 5 days of stimming on 450 Gonal-F. I seem to be responding slightly better....but I guess any little improvement is better than the previous cycles. I went for my first scan today and there were 3 measurable follicles about 7.5 on left side growing around a cyst I have. The right side she said was quiet but did see at least 2 but only about 2 and they usually don't measure them but did for me as I was curious. Will let you know my E2 levels when I find out later today and am back for a scan on Friday.
Are the 3 measurable ones in size for day 5 of meds? I would be happy with even 3 follicles that grow and potentially have an egg.

We lost our little boy at 16 weeks. We got our NIPT results back at 12 weeks, and the results showed a 99% of Trisomy 18. We didn't want to take action before we had a 100% diagnosis, which we got at 14 weeks. We made the horrible decision to end the pregnancy this week because our little one was not compatible with life. Physically, I'm recovering, but it will take longer to heal emotionally. I'm not sure what our next steps will be, but at 41, time is running out. We meet with our RE again in a few weeks. We have one frozen embryo, but my initial thinking is that I'd like to do another full cycle as soon as possible.

@JamieH2000 Thank you so much for asking. I am still in the middle of a dispute with my insurance company. My husband and I called a few months ago (a couple of times!) and we were told that there was 80% coverage for IVF once the deductible was met. So I switched to my husband’s plan. And of course once my RE office called they said there is zero coverage. And my previous plan had better coverage! The insurance company is “looking in to the matter” and now I have 6 pens of Gonal F in the fridge, and I am sure that I will be sent a big bill if I use it for IVF. The whole process is so stressful and confusing, especially if you are given wrong information. So I am taking this cycle off, and using OvuSense, an internal temperature monitor. I am partway though a TWW. Where are you at in your cycle?
@annierose3 I hate that about your insurance. I recently switched to my husband’s insurance. I asked for verification that I could be on only my husband’s insurance rather than through my work’s plan. They said they could not send me anything like that in writing but that the calls were recorded and I had been told over the phone it was ok. Maybe that’s something to check with your insurance.

@emmasemm , @hopefuljj, @JamieH2000 Thank you for asking and I am sorry I wasn't on here during the cycle as I faced a lot of downturns again. Only had 1 follicle growing by day 7 and RE had heart to heart with us and told us ultimately our choice but he would recommend cancelling and converting to IUI. We contemplated as it only takes 1 but with age and possible quality an issue we decided not to go ahead and hae IUI and save the money to invest into adoption or donor eggs. So after 4 cycles, 3 at highest meds I only ever had one follicle each cycle and think the writing is on the wall. Any advice on donor eggs if you have done research would be super helpful as I start the research and process of looking into this. I am in Canada and we do not have egg banks so would have to purchase from the US.

Wouldn’t it be nice for that iui to produce ur miracle y not!!! as for donor eggs there is that thread on here that’s quite active and has had lots of success!!! AFM we have the green light to move forward!
We had a consult Friday evening and talked through all options.
Luckily we’re all on the same page so the plan is to do a full mock FET cycle with ERA and Hysteroscopy at the end. Assuming nothing is found and ERA result is clear then on to FET for real. (Writing that makes me feel a little bit sick with nerves...)
We will have a pretty much kitchen sink protocol from the beginning - thanks to especially @jamieh2000 and @hopefuljj for the sharing of every single small detail of your protocols last year as I could refer to not only meds but also dosages in the discussion.
We decided not to do another retrieval right now since we’ve already lost the benefit of the back to back ramp up and we anyhow want my body quiet before we start FET and after 3 months no meds it is pretty quiet.
We also decided against PGS testing for now as we decided not to risk throwing away any embryo that might have a chance at success and let my body be the one to test them. Also a bit nervous about this as at my age % normals are low...
Next step is an appointment with the nurse to go through calendar and check the details of the protocol, hopefully some time this week.
Our RE also offered me a job! He said I would be a credit to any medical program and that my grasp of the science and the medicine is better than most of the newly qualified REs he sees. DH said well she’s basically written a PhD thesis on it already!

I am currently doing my 2nd IVF cycle. My AMH is really low (.03 when it was last checked about six months ago). My first cycle resulted in one empty follicle at ER. This cycle I had an AFC of four. I went in for monitoring yesterday. The RE said I was not responding, no follicles, no lining, nothing going on. He said to continue meds and come back Sunday for another check. When I got my calendar from the RN, there were no changes to anything. I guess I thought maybe something would be changed. I'm on Gonal F 300, menopur 75, Omnitrope 8, and Cetrotide. Is it crazy to think that something will magically appear by Sunday? I'm planning on calling the RE today to ask about changing dosage. Is there anything else I should be asking? I felt in shock yesterday during the appointment so I couldn't even find the words. I'm feeling so sad and hopeless. This feels one step closer to being out of options for any chance with my own eggs.
@ah80 I was pretty much the same but the dr put me on max dose of 450 on gonal F and higher on the others too but can’t remember. Hope things change for the better!

@ah80 sorry ur first cycle was a bust and this cycle isn’t much to brag about. Unfortunately I sometimes need to go through trial error to see what works. This could also just be a strange cycle you could do the same thing next month and see a change. Sometimes new follicles can pop up mid way for sure sontry not to get to discouraged. My re did up my meds though and then for further cycles we always started at the highest dosage and not exceeding 600. 300 gonal f and 300 menupar. Hang in there!

@ah80- I think they can up your doses! I was on 450 of folliatom and 150 of menopur! I think 600 between the two meds is the max!

@JamieH2000!!!!! I’ve never been so excited to get a podcast push notification! I saw the title with Dor and [success] and so I went and clicked details and saw your name and was just so excited! I don’t listen to it much anymore because I end up getting annoyed about people’s “struggles” when they did like 2 iui’s and an IVF and got pregnant. I know that’s not fair but after 3 yrs that is just how I feel! You sounded amazing, your story is amazing. I loved listening to you so much!! I know it’s weird to listen to yourself but I promise you, you sounded perfect! I told all my other girls who often screen episodes for this podcast for our “approval” that this one is a total winner!! Ok, sorry for the gushing, I’m just so excited that you did it and that it came out so great and that you are a mom now!!!!!! I just called off my Hail Mary fresh IVF cycle and I’m moving onto donor egg as well. I was arguing with a doctor about how I wanted to go the route he called “the most expensive and unnecessary” and then I listened to you say you chose fresh for the same reason, the hope of the best chance to have more than 1 child with the same genetics and I felt SO validated! So anyway, I just want to be a mom, and I’ve been spending so much time reading the same things you mentioned on the podcast, every woman who has done it says she wouldn’t have it any other way because that is the baby they were meant to have. I need to find the donor board on here too...just for more info and stuff:). So here I go:)

Me: Hashimoto Autoimune Disease Homozygous MTHFR Cr677 DOR - AMH .27 High FSH (don't even know how high) 2 iui's to start - BFN IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5! 2 5AA 1 6BB PGS results = all abnormal IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty. Nothing made it to day 5 IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty IVF 5 - Canceled - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS
Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!! 1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.
FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol Chemical pregnancy FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2???? Miscarriage at 8 weeks. viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal
DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos 1st transfer - chemical pregnancy 2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!

@hopefuljj- it is sooo good to hear from you and im so glad you liked the episode!! It was hard to do but I just tried to be honest and not worry too much about how I sounded. I’m surprised your doctor said fresh donor eggs was unnecessary! I highly reco that route if you are able to do it financially. My clinic has 85 percent success rates with fresh donor eggs and I think it’s def the way to go if you want a better chance at two children. I am so happy we have the 8 embryos left and have a good chance at a second. Please join us on the donor egg thread and if you are on Facebook, feel free to friend me (i can send you a link thru PM). AFM well I have my ERA/Hysteroscopy protocol and calendar!!! Went to the pharmacy to order my drugs tonight so will be more than ready in just under two weeks when my next cycle starts. Only thing I still need to sort out is the intralipids... though guess what - I found a nursing service that will come and do them in your home! So I can sit watching Netflix or working from home while they do it! Wrote to them tonight and hoping that will work out as it would make life a lot easier...
We are starting cetrotide on day 1. Then having an US CD1-3 (they are not fussy which day) and so long as no issues then starting the estrogen patches on day 3. Having a first scan CD8-10 to check lining thickness and if over 8mm adding in prednisolone. First intralipids 2 days later. And another scan 2 days later - which if it’s looking good means starting the fun stuff the next day: Cyclogest Lubion Clexane. Staying on the baby aspirin throughout. Blood test day before ERA/Hysteroscopy to check my progesterone levels and then I don’t even have to worry about ERA pain as they’ll have me under sedation for the Hysteroscopy!
I’m quite excited as I don’t feel the stress of retrieval or transfer - it’s really just a practice run! Feel free to remind me of this when I’m feeling full effects of all this progesterone lol!

Thank you ladies:) I did a horrible job with a real catchup, but to recap on how I got here, I had been choosing to do a Hail Mary with my regular doctor and my own eggs post dnc from my 8 week miscarriage. I had the consult already done, and had a saline sono scheduled for post DNC uterine check, and my nurse coordination for medicine call. I at the same time made an appointment at a different clinic that does donor egg as my clinic does not. I met with this renowned doctor or whatever and he spent most of my donor consult trying to convince me I had only had bad luck this whole time cuz I was at an inferior lab (ok....sure...). So my DH was there for all of this. I enjoyed the doctor though as he totally went back and forth with me over all things and when my husband asked if all his patients were as well informed as I was he didn’t drop a beat in explaining to my husband that people of high intelligence (THANK you Dr. lol) need to be involved and informed and he basically told him he was very impressed with my level of information and understanding about all the things. Ha! After having a mix of doctors try to be like, ok ok, you are the patient let me be the doctor and then other doctors who put up with it but didn’t totally appreciate it, or didn’t compliment me over it (haha, sometimes it’s nice to have it acknowledged) it was refreshing. So long story short, he talks me into canceling my cycle at my old clinic and trying with them. I hear alll about their lab blah blah and he even went down the rabbit hole with me of luck vs science... Then when DH leaves for work we go to take a look at my ovaries and he does a TOTAL 180. I’ve never seen someone SO dissapointed while looking at my ovaries!!!! I mean, not totally true, I had a consult at another clinic right before I got naturally pregnant and it actually went a bit similarity, but that was not a donor consult! It was about cycling with OE there....anyway at this new clinic, I went out to wait for finance after the Dr. shook his head and sighed a bunch over my tumblr weed ovaries...and while I was waiting he came over and sat with me in the waiting room and I asked him after what he had seen, did he still fee like everything he had just spent an hour saying was still true and if he would still recommend I cycle with OE ans we decided unless I felt I truly needed it for closure, I would move straight to donor egg. SO! That is how it all happened:) during that conversations, talking in hushed voices in the waiting room he also said that going with a fresh donor would be the best chance at having genetically same siblings. So that is where I am at:)

@emmasemm- Baby came home on Thursday! All the sudden he just started taking full bottles so he got to come home Its been awesome but a huge adjustment in sleep! Your plan sounds perfect! I remember feeling so much less stress about the ERA cycle too. You are literally doing everything you can to get this right!!

@hopefuljj oh wow that is quite the story! During my hunt for a new RE a year ago I had several over the phone tell me they could get me 10+ mature eggs from one retrieval and I ran from them like the hills... though it does sound like this RE had just genuinely assumed he would see what was there when you did your last retrievals. I hope we get to be transfer buddies in a few months time!

I was to have my beta on Wednesday after my 4th IVF was converted to IUI due to the one follicle as mentioned in my posts earlier. Have had been having usual PMS cramps and was going to skip the beta as it is done by our provincial general labs instead of my clinic as per this new clinic and a busy day a work but did duck out to take the blood test. Asked the lab technician when results are posted on my government eheath account and she indicated later in the evening. I did not think anything about it most of the evening and then I logged in and was blown away to see a number there of 95. My beta showed 95; complete complete shock. Told my DH and still couldn't believe it. Clinic confirmed the results the next day and my beta 48 hours later was 232. Now they have told me to sit tight until they bring me in for an ultrasound on Feb 20. I wanted to share this with all of you, I am cautiously optimistic and so fearful at the same time.

Not much going on with me right now, still waiting for AF to come back. None of my doctors have suggested getting betas done, so I will ask the RE about it when we meet with her mid month. That will be six weeks post surgery, so I will be getting pretty anxious if my cycle hasn't started up again by that point.
I think we're going to push to do another full IVF cycle instead of trying a FET with our one remaining embryo. I think getting as many healthy eggs out asap is important, given that I'm 41. Any thoughts? It's such a hard call.

@bakerstreetboys I would def look into testing your HCG, it was my understanding they need to have you come in regularly (weekly or bi-weekly) until it gets to 0. It took mine a month and 2 weeks after my DNC before I could finally stop going.

I started my cycle on January 03 and have done 5 days of stimming on 450 Gonal-F. I seem to be responding slightly better....but I guess any little improvement is better than the previous cycles. I went for my first scan today and there were 3 measurable follicles about 7.5 on left side growing around a cyst I have. The right side she said was quiet but did see at least 2 but only about 2 and they usually don't measure them but did for me as I was curious. Will let you know my E2 levels when I find out later today and am back for a scan on Friday.
Are the 3 measurable ones in size for day 5 of meds? I would be happy with even 3 follicles that grow and potentially have an egg.
I have been following this board still, but need some time to catch up with everyone.

We lost our little boy at 16 weeks. We got our NIPT results back at 12 weeks, and the results showed a 99% of Trisomy 18. We didn't want to take action before we had a 100% diagnosis, which we got at 14 weeks. We made the horrible decision to end the pregnancy this week because our little one was not compatible with life. Physically, I'm recovering, but it will take longer to heal emotionally. I'm not sure what our next steps will be, but at 41, time is running out. We meet with our RE again in a few weeks. We have one frozen embryo, but my initial thinking is that I'd like to do another full cycle as soon as possible.

Thank you for asking and I am sorry I wasn't on here during the cycle as I faced a lot of downturns again. Only had 1 follicle growing by day 7 and RE had heart to heart with us and told us ultimately our choice but he would recommend cancelling and converting to IUI. We contemplated as it only takes 1 but with age and possible quality an issue we decided not to go ahead and hae IUI and save the money to invest into adoption or donor eggs. So after 4 cycles, 3 at highest meds I only ever had one follicle each cycle and think the writing is on the wall.
Any advice on donor eggs if you have done research would be super helpful as I start the research and process of looking into this. I am in Canada and we do not have egg banks so would have to purchase from the US.
as for donor eggs there is that thread on here that’s quite active and has had lots of success!!! Jamieh2000 is super knowledgeable in that dept!!!

Sometimes new follicles can pop up mid way for sure sontry not to get to discouraged. My re did up my meds though and then for further cycles we always started at the highest dosage and not exceeding 600. 300 gonal f and 300 menupar. Hang in there!

@ah80- I think they can up your doses! I was on 450 of folliatom and 150 of menopur! I think 600 between the two meds is the max!

2 iui's to start - BFN
IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5! 2 5AA 1 6BB PGS results = all abnormal
IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty. Nothing made it to day 5
IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval
IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
IVF 5 - Canceled - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS
Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!! 1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.
FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol

Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2???? Miscarriage at 8 weeks. viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal

AFM well I have my ERA/Hysteroscopy protocol and calendar!!! Went to the pharmacy to order my drugs tonight so will be more than ready in just under two weeks when my next cycle starts.
Only thing I still need to sort out is the intralipids... though guess what - I found a nursing service that will come and do them in your home! So I can sit watching Netflix or working from home while they do it! Wrote to them tonight and hoping that will work out as it would make life a lot easier...
We are starting cetrotide on day 1.
Then having an US CD1-3 (they are not fussy which day) and so long as no issues then starting the estrogen patches on day 3.
Having a first scan CD8-10 to check lining thickness and if over 8mm adding in prednisolone.
First intralipids 2 days later.
And another scan 2 days later - which if it’s looking good means starting the fun stuff the next day:
Cyclogest
Lubion
Clexane.
Staying on the baby aspirin throughout.
Blood test day before ERA/Hysteroscopy to check my progesterone levels and then I don’t even have to worry about ERA pain as they’ll have me under sedation for the Hysteroscopy!
I’m quite excited as I don’t feel the stress of retrieval or transfer - it’s really just a practice run!

DOR - AMH .27 High FSH (don't even know how high)
2 iui's to start - BFN
IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5! 2 5AA 1 6BB PGS results = all abnormal
IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty. Nothing made it to day 5
IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval
IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
IVF 5 - Canceled - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS
Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!! 1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.
FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol

FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN
Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2???? Miscarriage at 8 weeks. viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal
DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos
1st transfer - chemical pregnancy
2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!

@capps42613 love that story!! It’s crazy when miracles like that happen! I still would love to conceive naturally but it’s not in my cards AND holy hell the worrying I did alone through my pregnancy with a normal embryo not knowing everything is ok prior would really make me bonkers I would think!

AFM: -trigger warning-
I was to have my beta on Wednesday after my 4th IVF was converted to IUI due to the one follicle as mentioned in my posts earlier. Have had been having usual PMS cramps and was going to skip the beta as it is done by our provincial general labs instead of my clinic as per this new clinic and a busy day a work but did duck out to take the blood test. Asked the lab technician when results are posted on my government eheath account and she indicated later in the evening. I did not think anything about it most of the evening and then I logged in and was blown away to see a number there of 95. My beta showed 95; complete complete shock. Told my DH and still couldn't believe it. Clinic confirmed the results the next day and my beta 48 hours later was 232. Now they have told me to sit tight until they bring me in for an ultrasound on Feb 20. I wanted to share this with all of you, I am cautiously optimistic and so fearful at the same time.

Not much going on with me right now, still waiting for AF to come back. None of my doctors have suggested getting betas done, so I will ask the RE about it when we meet with her mid month. That will be six weeks post surgery, so I will be getting pretty anxious if my cycle hasn't started up again by that point.
I think we're going to push to do another full IVF cycle instead of trying a FET with our one remaining embryo. I think getting as many healthy eggs out asap is important, given that I'm 41. Any thoughts? It's such a hard call.
@bakerstreetboys I would def look into testing your HCG, it was my understanding they need to have you come in regularly (weekly or bi-weekly) until it gets to 0. It took mine a month and 2 weeks after my DNC before I could finally stop going.
