My husband and I are expecting our second d child in July. We found out a week or so ago that it is a boy. For years my husband has wanted to name our son (if we had one) Rocky Tyler. The name finally grew on me, but I feel the name Rocky shouldn't be the whole name, but would be a cute nickname. So, we decided on Rockford Tyler. Thoughts? We haven't shared the name with many ppl, but I wanted to know what some thoughts are. We figure this leaves options open for the future as far as nicknames or names he may choose to go by
I'd flip it if you're set on those names, Tyler Rockford. That way you can call him Rocky if you want. But I don't think Rockford as a first name works. Reminds me of the team from A League of Their Own, the Rockford Peaches.
I immediately think of the kind of crappy city in Illinois called Rockford. I don't like it at all but I think you could definitely use the nn Rocky with another full name. Roderick, Rocco, even Richard wouldn't be too out there for Rocky as a nickname.
Definitely not a fan. I agree with others to use a different R name with a nn Rocky. Just think about him later in life applying for jobs and being an adult.
