  • Sadly I’m back. I’ve missed you ladies but wish I didn’t have to type this up again but here goes.

Ages (you and SO): I’m 27 for exactly one more month and my bf is 30

How many months have you been TTC?: I guess like 6ish months. TW * experienced two losses in that time though. One MMC and just today found out I had a blighted ovum*

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: dr claims we can start trying again next month but I want to wait. I can’t do this to myself again.
Pnv, vitamin D, and one the Costco sized chocolate cake is gone from my fridge I’ll be trying to go Keto.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have a 10 month old catahoula leopard/Australian Shepard dog. I work a seasonal job so currently laid off until May. My bf works at the mill. We just bought a house last month and will be doing a bunch of home renos and once it’s good enough will be renting out the upstairs and downstairs suites and building the dream home.

Hi, everyone. I know that we're urged to lurk for a while before posting, but I didn't think it could hurt to just introduce myself. It seems like the friendly thing to do.

Ages (you and SO): me: 34 (today) him: 35

How many months have you been TTC?: 2 (I know it's soon, but I've been waiting for this moment for many years, so I'm eager to have other people to follow going through the journey)

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Last month we made the decision so we were quite casual about all of it. This month, I purchased OPKs, just started temping this week, and also started a pre-natal (Conception). We'd like more than one child, if possible, so we decided we needed to get serious about it sooner rather than later. I also had a LEEP procedure in 2011, so I've always been a little nervous for when this time came.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I can't technically use the "DH" acronym as we're not married. We just bought a house because we felt it was most practical in our current situation and city. We then we had to decide whether we do the wedding and wait for kids or just jump in. After a come-to-Jesus moment with a friend, we realized that window is closing faster than we imagined so we're being "practical" again and just going for a family. We don't know how long it will take, given our ages, and we don't want to regret not trying earlier.

We both work in marketing/advertising—him as a strategist, me as a strategist/writer. I'm a vegetarian and we both love checking out new restaurants and breweries around town. He's a runner, I do yoga. I also love a good podcast and book. Plus, we both shamelessly like reality tv, haha. We have two yorkies who are getting up there in age, but we love them regardless of their geriatric, stinky state.

I promise to try to lurk more and post less, but I wanted to say hi to everyone so you at least know who is out there lurking. :)

And @kels0091, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.
  • @samashley1 Welcome, and Happy Birthday!  I hope your stay here is short!  :)

@samashley1 welcome! Hope your stay here is short :)
your situation sounds a bit similar to myself in that my bf and I bought a house together and instead of doing the marriage thing decided to jump right into kids. :) I always refer to him as my bf which sounds kinda almost juvenile but no one here cares and a title is just a title.
Thank you for your kind words, the women here are absolutely wonderful.
As long as you don’t start any posts (like a fresh post) about your day or pictures about anything that comes out of your body (unless it’s a real legit unicorn horn) we won’t have an issue with you jumping in on the dailies. :)

    EDIT - words are hard
  • Thank you for the welcome everyone!
  • Hi everyone. I’m 37 and DH is 38. We have two boys (3.5 and 18 months) and this is our first month trying after a loss this past October. I wasn’t ready mentally to start trying again right away, but happy now about the fresh start a new year seems to offer. I’ll be using my trusty apps for a month or two before moving to the OPK route. I must admit I am feeling old to be TTC. After our loss in the fall, I wondered if I should give up and just be happy with what I have (and I AM happy with my perfect kiddos, just always imagined we’d have three). Anyway, glad to be here. I know how supportive these boards can be!
  • Hi @junebabyh glad to see you took time to get yourself in a good place mentally. June certainly was an awesome bunch but I think you'll find this crowd enjoyable as well!
  • @prpl11butterfly I’m sorry to see you here, friend, but also happy to see a familiar name!
