Scheduled C Section

Sorry if this is a repeat post... I dont know how to search through the sites and dont see it. I am having a scheduled c section on thursday (1/10) due to baby boy being frank breech. Wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat or if anyone had any ideas for what to expect!

Re: Scheduled C Section

  • My sister-in-law was able to have a “gentle cesarean” with her second. Having a C-section doesn’t mean that you have to give up on a beautiful birth with many of the things that are important to many moms and beneficial for babies, like immediate skin-to-skin, delayed cord-clamping, and having Mom or Dad present for all newborn procedures and assessments. Check out this link, or just Google “gentle cesarean” tonlearn more about it. https://www.mamanatural.com/gentle-cesarean/

  • I have a scheduled C for 1/26 because my baby is footling breech. I had a vaginal delivery for my first baby and I'm ok with a C this time. It is strange having a "scheduled" delivery though!

    Good luck on Thursday!
  • Mine wasn't scheduled until the day of...when we got to the hospital baby was transverse/almost breech. I'm now almost two weeks out...he's doing great. My doctor was fantastic and supportive and the anesthesiologist helped keep me informed with what was going on, what I could expect to feel, etc. The positioning made it harder for them to get him out so I did/do have a lot of bruising. My husband did skin to skin until I could nurse him...about two hours. As far as pain management, I had torodol for 24 hours, then Motrin and Tylenol with codeine after that. Getting moving hurts at first but makes recovery much smoother! To me, asking for a play by play of what was happening and taking recovery one step at a time really helped!
