Pretty good this week. Physically the kicks are reassuring, and she kicks a lot.
Mentally, pretty good.
3. Any appt updates? Growth scan and check up this Friday. Specifically checking on the placenta previa so that a decision will be made about delivery in the next 2-3 weeks.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
When will you / did you start packing your hospital bag?
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions? To be positive, patient, and forgiving of myself this year, as I'm sure there will be lots of challenges with this being my first baby (along with the many joys!).
@karatepickles I think within the next month or so, I'll start getting items ready for the hospital bag...just in case! Least some travel sized items and baby stuff.
1. How many weeks are you? 28 weeks
2. How are you feeling? Mentally? Physically? Mentally: Good...baby has been pretty active, so it's been very reassuring. Physically: Starting to feel like I'm running out of room.
3. Any appt updates? Friday was OB appt with Glucose test. Still waiting on results being a holiday weekend.
4. Rants/raves/questions? Loved the holidays with family, but excited to get back to normal life again. MH's family had us busy daily since xmas, so needless to say I'm pooped!
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions? Continue with positive thoughts thru the new year and cutting out anything that causes any strife.

@karatepickles I was wondering the same thing about the hospital bag. I’m a STM and not sure what I want to pack. I still can’t decide what I want her take home outfit to be.
1. How many weeks are you? - 31 Weeks tomorrow
2. How are you feeling? Mentally? Physically? - I caught the stomach flu so I’m miserable right now. Mentally I am doing okay, she’s been kicking up a storm today which is reassuring but hasn’t helped my stomach pains from being sick.
3. Any appt updates? - Had an appointment yesterday and little miss’ HB was 145 which was higher than last time. I start my weekly checks now and so my next check is Jan 7th.
4. Rants/raves/questions? - Anyone have take home outfits picked out yet? I have seen several cute ones online but too scared to order them. Too many what ifs.
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions? - Be more present to my family. Spend more time with my son doing activities that don’t require a tv or electronic device. Get my house on a cleaning schedule during the week so I am more available on the weekends for family time.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
@karatepickles and @bdesterhouse I have my bag mostly packed. I have had it mostly packed for about 1.5 weeks. Sitting at the top is the master list. What isn't in the bag, isn't checked off, like coming home outfit for lo (waiting for the shower to pick one). @bdesterhouse hope you get better soon! 1. How many weeks are you? 29+3
2. How are you feeling? Mentally? Physically? Mentally: pretty good. We are in the process of moving in with family to be closer to the hospital for the next 2 months. Being high risk, I picked a specific hospital that is 1.5-2 hours away depending on traffic, and the interstate can close in two places if the weather is really bad. So family offered for us to stay with them until lo arrives. DW is transferring with her job and everything. So, a little stressful. But once it's done that will be nice. Physically: definitely feeling more uncomfortable. Still sick, it is worth it.
3. Any appt updates? Next appt is on the 11th. I have it scheduled with the NP, who I think is amazing. I have so many questions for her as the dr I saw at my last appt really didn't answer any of them. Plus the NP takes time to explain, make sure I understand things, ect.
4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave: My shower is coming up. Which is a rave as my cousin and my best friend are both flying in to be there!
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions? Haven't come up with any. Everyone here has good ones.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally? Physically? Mentally I am fine, Physically I am just exhausted and somehow managed to injure my ankle while sleeping. I don't even know how that happens?!
3. Any appt updates? Nope. Next appointment is Tuesday. Was measuring right on track on the 24th with no concerns.
4. Rants/raves/questions? Rave - only 9 more weeks of being pregnant! Rant - back to reality going to work after a really nice 2.5 weeks off
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions? No - I don't really believe in setting those. If I have a goal I don't need a January 1 date to get after it. Plus I get extra annoyed at all of the extra people who are at the gym who will likely not be there past March (major kudos to those who stay, though).
@karatepickles fingers crossed your placenta moves! @kristimh80 I hope your glucose comes back normal! @bdesterhouse I'm so sorry you have the stomach flu - that's been going around here, too, and I can't imagine having that while pregnant @Kenneylynn3 hope the transfer goes well - enjoy your shower!
@BuckeyeNut05 Oh no! Hope your ankle gets to feels better!! I've tossed and turned a lot lately while sleeping...so sadly, I can see how this may could happen lol

2. Tired, not sleeping well, heartburn is a little better! Pretty anxious and irritable at times especially leading up to my appt today
3. Mostly good news at the MFM this week. Boy is 2 pounds 14 ounces and girl is 2 pounds 11 ounces. She has caught up!! They are hardly discordant at all now and both still huge. He has mild poly, so that would probably be why I am contracting. I have to start weekly BPPs but overall the visit went very well. No diabetes, no blood pressure problems. And his kidney dilation resolved too!!
4. Baby shower is this weekend and I’m kind of dreading it because of family drama. I’m pretty frustrated that I can’t just enjoy it!!
5. No resolutions this year. I feel like we are just in survival mode!!

PCOS, plus some medical issues that make me high risk.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally? Physically? Not too bad. I noticed while on Christmas vacation that all my pelvic / pubic bone pain disappeared, which was awesome. However, now that I’m back home and back at work, all the pain and stiffness is back. Frustrating! I guess it’s either stairs (my house has a lot and my parents place had none) and / or sitting all day at work that’s causing the pain.
3. Any appt updates? Just had one yesterday. Short and sweet. Baby is head down and feeling like she’s “a good size” so no growth scan needed, apparently (was going to be scheduled for one as she measured 19 percentile at my 20 week AS).
4. Rants/raves/questions? Has anyone talked to their dr about their birth / birth plan? I’m not sure if it’s too early to do so and I honestly dread the convo although if my OB is not on board with my wishes I really need to find out sooner rather than later. I want to see if she’s ok with me labouring and delivering in any position I feel comfortable (rather than being forced on my back), intermittent fetal monitoring and no IV. I’m nervous to ask because if she vetos any of thise things outright, I’m not sure what to do.... With DD I was totally “go with the flow” and didn’t have any specific goals or wishes other than a healthy mom and baby, but this time around I want to do a few things differently.
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions Hmm nothing specific, I just want to finish my pregnancy off healthily. I need to eat better and exercise more. With my first pg I packed on the lbs in the last couple of months because I ate more and stopped exercising due to pelvic and hip pain - I don’t want to repeat that!!
@3rdtime_charmed I'm so glad your little girl has caught up! At least you know why you've been contracting and they aren't asking you to stay in town yet. Try to enjoy your shower. I understand the drama aspect. I've decided to just roll with it and try to enjoy it as mine's next weekend.
@laur84ns I plan to bring up birth plan stuff at my next appt. They called to schedule my induction at 39 weeks due to how far I live from the hospital. I plan to ask the process and if it's necessary. Hope your conversation goes well, and you and your ob are somewhat on the same page.
@laur84ns I agree that you should bring up those things now if they are really important to you. Some providers won’t negotiate and you may have to find someone else that is willing to work with you... you want to make sure you have enough time to do that.

PCOS, plus some medical issues that make me high risk.
Good news! I found out today that my placenta previa has resolved! So, I am back on track for vaginal delivery (and my due date). I was kind of anxious about a much earlier delivery.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally? Physically? Mentally I am doing pretty well. I had some trouble coping earlier this week cause I was dealing with a very stubborn UTI on top of pregnancy symptoms and it just wore me down after a while. I'm better now though! Physically - it's getting harder to get decent sleep, my hips and back get sore, and I have to be careful what furniture I sit on or I end up with nerve pain. Fun! It's all still manageable at this point so I'm trying to enjoy that while it lasts.
3. Any appt updates? We had a growth scan on the 2nd and baby boy was looking great. They estimated he weighs 3lbs 1oz which is about 1 week ahead. He had both his hands up right by his face so it was tough getting a good picture of him, but the tech was patient and managed to get one decent look at his face. I can't stop staring at it!
4. Rants/raves/questions? My SIL had her baby boy on New Year's Eve and we got to go meet him the next day. He's so precious, and I'm excited that our babies can grow up as close cousins.
5. GTKY- any New Years Resolutions? DH asked me this question and my response was "have a baby" lol. As first time parents so much is changing for us already... that's about all I can handle so no need for more resolutions.
@3rdtime_charmed Yaaas, good job growing, baby girl! I'm glad they're keeping a close eye on things and FX you'll continue to get good news each week.
@laur84ns I haven't talked to my doc yet about a birth plan, but I intend to at my next appt (I'll be 30 weeks). I'm nervous because I want to try for some of the same things you do, and I don't know how much flexibility I'll have at the hospital. Because of how our local hospital and OB practices are set up, I'm pretty sure most of that stuff won't even be up to my OB! But I do want to start learning more about what to expect.
@diaphena I’m in the same boat, I think most of my questions really have to do with hospital policy rather than my own OB (there are a team of 5 of them rotating at the hospital so of course I know it likely won’t be my own OB who delivers my baby). I just want to gauge her reaction to my questions and make sure at least she seems supportive... and maybe she can let me know if all those things are normal and standard at the hospital too. I am delivering this baby in a different province and hospital than my DD so I’m not sure what to expect. They don’t do hospital tours at this hospital anymore but they have a “welcome” type video for parents to watch before they give birth. I just checked it out on their website and the video mentioned labouring in whatever position you like, and that they have birth balls, tubs and squat bars available. So that sounds promising at least! They’ll likely push me into a hep-lock if I refuse an IV, but I’m ok with that because I can stay mobile and won’t be pumped full of fluids. Good luck discussing with your doctor at your next appointment - I hope he/she is supportive!
