How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I slipped on ice, rolled my ankle, and banged up my big toe pretty awesomely last week (my ever changing center of balance probably played a role, too). So that, paired with lots of on the floor playtime with DD1 has me generally sore. Not too many true pregnancy issues, though. Emotionally, the usual pgal stuff. I am starting to feel baby move a lot more, which has helped.
Any appointment updates? None this week.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Any milestones coming up (doesn't have to be pgal related)? We have yet to announce the pregnancy in any formal way (like our families, close friends, and work know, but not long distance friends or extended family). I keep putting it off, and I think pgal has a role in that. Anatomy u/s is probably the last milestone I needed to feel safe about it, but I still haven't felt the motivation to come up with a cute post...
GTKY: Any New Years resolutions? I want to be better about working out and/or doing some daily mindfulness work. I bought a prenatal workout program but only do it 1-2x a week, goal is 3-4x. Also, I use Hypnobabies for birth prep, and that takes daily practice thru 3rd tri, so that will fit with this goal.
How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Physically tired and emotionally a rollercoaster still. I has a horrible nightmare the other night that I got up from sleeping to pee and when I went, I delivered our baby and I held the baby in my hand and it looked at me and was moving and was the size of a troll doll... I then woke up to actually go to the bathroom when that was the last thing I wanted to do after waking up from that.
Any appointment updates? Anatomy scan and maternity tour on Monday. Pretty excited!
Rants/Raves/Questions? my bump finally popped! Starting to actually feel like I look pregnant but DH is creeped out by pregnant bellies so he hasn't touched my belly and doesn't like hearing when our girl is moving around... It makes me feel a bit alone in this pregnancy but I hope he warms up to it.
Any milestones coming up (doesn't have to be pgal related)? just the anatomy scan and the half way mark! pretty cool.
GTKY: Any New Years resolutions? My new years resolution is to not over extend myself. I say yes to people too often and it stresses me out. I need to step back from saying yes.
How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Pretty good emotionally, the anatomy scan was my last real hurdle to make me feel more confident in this pregnancy and that went great. Physically dh and I have had colds and coughs for a while now, hoping those go away soon.
Any appointment updates? Next appt is Jan 14th, I’ll do the gestational diabetes test then
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing really
Any milestones coming up (doesn't have to be pgal related)? We announced after our anatomy scan a few weeks ago, no other milestones coming up, I guess viability is something I’ll be anxiously waiting to get to!
GTKY: Any New Years resolutions? We are trying to budget and actually stick to it, we do fine financially but could definitely be saving more, so we are working on it.
How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally I'm finally starting to feel like this might actually happen. Physically progesterone shots are killing me!
Any appointment updates? I have a fetal echo scheduled for next week.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am feeling the baby alot during the day now, and MH was able to feel him.
Any milestones coming up (doesn't have to be pgal related)? 17 days until viability, but who's counting.
GTKY: Any New Years resolutions? We're also trying out a budget as we waste alot of money. Personally I'd like to clean up my language maybe drop a few less F bombs doubtful though haha
How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally feeling really good today. Earlier this week I had a little breakdown because I wasn't feeling a lot of movement but I just got my results back from my AS and I have an anterior placenta so that made me feel better. Plus H felt movement last night for the first time! The only emotional aspects that has me worried now is my weight. I have gained 20 pounds since my pre-pregnancy weight. My midwife is not concerned at all because I have a healthy BMI but I'm nervous I won't be able to get it off after baby is here. I guess really that's the most trivial thing to worry about as compared to other PGAL worries.
Any appointment updates? Just my checkup today. Everything is really good and I feel really relaxed today.
Rants/Raves/Questions? How has everyone's weight gain been? If this is too personal of question please feel free to ignore!
Any milestones coming up (doesn't have to be pgal related)? Nope
GTKY: any new years resolution? I use instagram and Facebook for my side business and it seriously stresses me out. Over the Christmas break and not being on Instagram or my phone in general really helped my anxiety level so although my business may suffer, I want to start limiting my Instagram and phone and TV time and take more walks and spend more time with H.
@kaitcrystalline I hadn't gained anything for 16 weeks and now I gained 4 pounds in the last three weeks... I don't know how this is supposed to work but I'll be talking to my doctor to make sure I stay on track for my goal to stay under 20 lbs gained before delivery.
@kaitcrystalline I gained about 25lbs with DD1 and was 5lb under my prepregnancy weight at my 5wk postpartum visit. I was breastfeeding and STARVING (and eating) all. the. time. so no clue how that happened. I did gain some of it back later on. I am heavier as it is, so my doc wanted me to minimize my gain, but also said that your body will do what it needs for baby and the only thing that you can control is making sure to eat healthy. Are you/baby measuring big, otherwise?
@kbeers13 yes definitely chat with the doctor. I wish I had noticed earlier (I don't have a scale at home and honestly didn't realize the amount I had put on).
@optbaby2017 Thanks for the feedback. No baby and I are measuring normal and honestly whenever I mention that I've gained that much weight people are generally shocked saying that I don't look it (maybe they are just being nice lol). I eat healthy also and drink plenty of water- with the holidays I splurged a bit with gender reveal cake and Christmas cookies- but nothing crazy. My bust is the biggest change. I was a C32 but now measure into a G so most people notice that moreso then my weight anywhere else. I'm just going to up my exercise I guess. I go to Pilates once a week but work in an office all day so I'm constantly sitting.. I just have to be more proactive after my workday to get to the gym I guess.
@kaitcrystalline If you/baby were measuring big I would maybe have suggested some glucose screening earlier to rule out gestational diabetes (keeping in mind that I am not a medical person). But if everything is measuring normal and your midwife isn't concerned, just eat healthy and exercise some. Your body knows what you and baby need.
@kaitcrystalline I’ve gained about 20 pounds so far too. I gained 50ish with ds and pretty easily lost it all plus some after, so don’t stress too much about it. I’m gaining at a slightly slower pace this time which is nice, but I think it’s just how my body is so I try to eat as well as I can and exercise but I’m not worrying too much about it.
@aels12 Thanks! This makes me feel better! I'm still going to start walking more since that can't be bad for baby or me (we are both healthy and doing good). Most of the women who I've chatted with who have been pregnant said walking throughout the day really helped with swelling too. Thanks ladies for the insight!! 😊
@kaitcrystalline Walking definitely helps baby get into position and is a great workout, pregnant or not. I walked a ton 3rd tri with DD1 and think it's part of what helped me have a good labor with her. My bff had gestational diabetes with her 2nd and was able to control it with a few diet changes, drinking extra water, and walking after meals.
How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Physically- super tired, acid reflux, hip pain, headaches, and still occasional nausea and vomiting. Emotionally- I’m doing ok, still have PGAL brain frequently.
Any appointment updates? I had my second anotomy scan the Friday after Christmas at 21w1d. Everything looked great and baby was measuring right on at 21w1d.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Any milestones coming up (doesn't have to be pgal related)? Just passed my AS/loss milestone. This is officially the longest I have been pregnant.
GTKY: Any New Years resolutions? I didn’t make any.
22w1d Emotionally pretty good. Feeling movement quite often which gives me that “dropped stomach I forgot something panic” until i realize quickly it’s just little guy getting comfy. Physically I’ve had a sinus infection from hell which means none of the good drugs. Barreling through with Tylenol and sinus rinsed.
20 week scan looked great. Posterior placenta. Baby was measuring 20w6d. Which is close to being called “large for gestational age”. I’ve had HG and am still under my prepregnancy weight so I’m defending little one. I think he is just perfect.
We made a more more public announcement after the 20w scan. Felt good to share the news but still worry about the LO until he makes his appearance in May.
Ive been nesting like crazy. So my resolution is to keep the clutter out of our house.
