Re: January Randoms

  • My friend and her sister both had females I beleive. I don't have anything to compare them too but they were plenty friendly IMO.
  • Loading the player...
  • I’m at the neurologist right now following up for a super old issue (that my OB referred me for to make sure my artery doesn’t burst during my imaginary labor). He ordered a CAT scan and said he would do a pregnancy test today...I tried to tell him there’s no way it would even show up if I were (5dpo) but it’s standard procedure. Just kind of annoying me at the moment 😂
  • @b_1029 fx the cat scan comes out ok! I find it to be so random when doctors do pregnancy tests. I got my Mirena out last month, and I had heard from other people they will do a quick test beforehand just to make sure. But they didn’t for me. I asked the nurse, and she was like......🧐......and then I felt dumb for asking 🤣 especially since she said she could give me one if I wanted 😂

  • @b_1029 Free pee test!!

also, @shamrocandroll pics of the cute rats? I’m curious now...
  • I stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in a while... Gained about 5 pounds from the holidays :'( time to eat better!

  • @shamrocandroll Okay, they are much cuter than I imagined! I could totally get down with one of the bicolored ones!
  • @lillywonderland Right???  Everyone cringes when I say we're getting rats because they think of nasty street rats, but the domestic ones are so cute!  I'm going to keep letting my MIL believe they're gross, though.  Maybe she'll stop visiting.  ;)  :D

  • @bluejeanbabi05 if it makes you feel better I had my mirena out in October and didnt get tested prior to removal. Although I'm going for my pap smear next Thursday and will be 7-8DPO so im wondering if they'll do a test beforehand or not.
  • @shamrocandroll bahaha @ your MIL comment. I'd totally get a pet rat if it meant my dad's GF would never, ever come near me ever again.

@nomangos23 yessssss to Mikaella dresses! I tried on about 15 dresses and I loved pretty much every single Mikaella dress. The consultant commented that we definitely found the designer that fits me best. Your dress was stunning too!

  • @alm52386 Ugh, that's what I was afraid of.  I had two female cats and they did NOT get along at all and I feel like it made me nervous about having two females of any type of pet again.  They used to fight until literally fur was flying.

  • @nomangos23 The good thing is she screens for aggression, so the chances they bite are lower.  But we'll also be getting two, so I really want minimum chance of either of them biting.  She claims the females aren't more likely to bite than males.  Just have more energy and therefore some people perceive them as more aggressive.  Males are generally lazier.  With both of us working full time, a lazy rat sounds like a better move   :D

Y'all are cracking me up, maybe my dress will put MH in the mood to HIO the next couple days 🤣 although its got a massive train that may be hindering LOL
  • @kimmer1412 I was actually thinking of doing that tomorrow. Feel free to start it if you’re up before me!!
  • @kimmer1412 @lillywonderland yes!!! Seeing @kiki047 looking so gorgeous in her dress gave me all the feels
  • I’m now thinking about my wedding dress am hoping that it is in fact in that box that they said they put it in after cleaning it! Ha! I don’t think it would put my hubby in the mood. There’s no chance in hell that thing would zip up  :s
  • @b_1029, @kimmer1412 I already have my pics ready for tomorrow. 😜
  • Oh no, wedding dresses! I have a tradition where I put mine on every year around our anniversary and take a picture with whoever happens to be visiting (I do it on a day we have people over). Last year it got so bad that I had to just rip the back so I could fit 🤣😭

@shamrocandroll I must confess to also cringing at first about the rat thing, but I take it back after seeing those pics!

  • @bluejeanbabi05 I'm just going to have to carry around pictures of my rats to show to people after they cringe.

  • @kiki047 OMG, ew!  My old cat used to love to chew plastic.  She also would chew ribbon, and I would find it shredded and mixed into her poop in the litter box.  We had to institute a ribbon ban in our house.  The armpit licking is super weird and would gross me out, too.  Can he put something that tastes bad under his arms to get her to stop?  My cat had a weird wall licking problem in one spot in our old place, and so I rubbed it with hot sauce, and she finally stopped.

  • @kiki047 I'm dead  :D Cats are so weird. Armpit hair?? Really??! Mine like to lick the tub after we shower, but I'm not sure how weird that is haha. One of them also likes to pretend she's a florist and bite at whatever flowers we have laying around, which typically results in her pulling the whole vase over and soaking everything on the table.
  • @inthewoods23 Awwwwww!  She's so cute!  I'm retired from cat ownership now, but seeing cute pictures of kitties always tempts me to get another one.  That's how they get ya, those sneaky felines!

  • @shamrocandroll I had been asking for a cat for a while but my husband wanted to finally live for a while in a house that didn't smell like cat (I think the cats they had as a kid would pee all around their house though). My aunt had sent me a picture of her SIL's cat that they were trying to rehome because they were moving to a new apartment that didn't allow cats (and apparently didn't get along with their 4 month old). One look at the cat and DH was like "okay, she's pretty cute".

We had some hiccups when we first brought her home and DH sort of threatened to have me give her up, but she's really become an adorable and loving cat and has been with us for almost 3 years!

  • @inthewoods23 she's the cutest! Our dog destroys anything stuffed but maybe I need to get one of those kinds of toys for the cats and just hide it. I think they'd like it. I love it when they do those bunny kicks. Mine tries with her tiny little crinkle balls that are like 1" wide and it's so funny to watch a roly poly cat freaking out over a literal ball of fluff.

  • @inthewoods23 That's similar to how I got my cat.  My aunt and uncle passed away within a year of each other, and their cat basically ran away from home after my uncle passed.  My dad was at the house fixing stuff up to sell it one day and she showed up at the back door skinny and scared.  I was moving into my first apartment around that time, so I took her in.  Unfortunately I inherited a lot of problems with her, and at one point she was peeing al over my rental condo and ruining all of my things.  I tried everything, and finally found a really expensive litter that she would use consistently.  She also ruined a bunch of furniture by clawing at it.  Otherwise, she was a super sweet kitty and was great... but I'm definitely done with cats after all of that with her.  I lost her just over a year ago when she was about 15.  Now I just admire other people's cute kitties.  :)
