  • Lurking - @jennifer_louise totally feel you on the last few days of the TWW. I’m so good at convincing myself to not be crazy but once I hit the 10/11 DPO mark the BSC comes out. FX for you!
  • Thanks @b_1029! BSC in full swing... I'm just glad I can commiserate with people on here! 💜
  • *lurking to stalk @jennifer_louise *

I HOPE IT’S NOT BSC AND YOU’RE TOTES KU!! I missed you. Now please stay away from WTO forever. Okay? Okay!

  • @jennifer_louise your temps look good to me (though I'll admit that i am a temping noob). Have you been doing it at the same time every day? Mine has stayed higher than normal but I don't FEEL different and don't think timing was great so I'm expecting AF (but of course secretly hoping for BFP instead).

    Month/Cycle: 3/4

    CD/DPO: 19/7

    Timing: meh

    Typical LP length: 13ish

Testing: January 1 (FX got a great start to the new year)

R/R: I'm working from home today which is fantastic, except that I have no self control and am now tucked away in bed stalking the Bump rather than making money.

CS/Q: going up again, but nothing too dramatic or telling in my opinion
  • @galentine Sorry for the BFNs (I hope they're all wrong) but now "son of a nutcracker" is my new favorite swear.

@marbellie I do try to take it at the same time, but I am a bad sleeper during the TWW (and while traveling). So far my temps look a lot like last cycle, which was obviously a bust. BTW your WFH day sounds awesome!!

@lillywonderland Missed you more! I stalked your post and looks like an awesome time. Now, I refuse to talk to you until we're both in SMEPtember.
(jk obvi, I can't quit you)
  • @galentine Sorry for the BFNs & toe stubbing. I hope you get the peace & quiet you want & that your wishful heart gets its wish soon.
@marbellie You sound like me "expecting AF but secretly hoping for a BFP instead"--I'm gonna test the 31st, I've decided. I have faith in our abilities to wait til these decided days haha.
@jennifer_louise Those last few days are not the best haha, but good luck on not testing until you feel like you should! How much longer are you at your bro's?

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 20/5

Timing:  FF VIP (I caved! 😭) tells me we did really well on timing.

Typical LP length: New at determining my real O date, but have been tracking my period long enough for a  guess: 15 days?

Testing: holding off til... the 30th? the 31st? the 31st if I can help it.

R/R: DH has not been in top form for the holidays-- he has a lot of pain issues & it's not a good time of year for him-- everything triggers his BPD, & I've been trying to be merry & patient & kind & it's hard. He was "better" yesterday than Mon., & I'm hoping he keeps getting better & is in less pain & therefore merrier for the remainder of our stay up here. We have one more xmas party & a lot more ppl to make our way to see. // My Dad got us a roomba! & my fam has REALLY made DH feel welcome & appreciated that he made the trip this year (he stayed south last year & 3 years ago & went to see his sister in the mountains 2 years ago). I didn't even prompt my fam to be that way, and had considered it, so I hope DH knows it's all been genuine love & appreciation for his presence. His fam isn't as close-knit as mine, so I know it can be hard for him, but like--everyone so far has treated him like an important part of our fam that has been a missing piece of the puzzle these past few years & I'm super grateful for that.

CS/Q: Not questions, but "charting/FF commentary": It's funny how the recommended test date is so far after the predicted date of AF. Doesn't FF know we are... unlikely to wait that long!? el oh el. Anyway, I had the EXACT SAME TEMP three days in a row & this morning I was like "if this is the same temp, I'm returning this BBT! WTH!" but... it was different:

  • Hi all,

First time poster over here but have been reading/following for months. Appreciate all of the support you all give to each other.

    Month/Cycle: 18 months of TTC
CD/DPO: CD 22, DPO 6 (only saw the flashy smiley, never static smiley so not sure)
    Timing: good
    Typical LP length: unsure
    Testing: waiting
R/R: If it doesn't happen this month, I think we will proceed with IUI.  I have had two MC's (July '18 and March '18). Anxious (as everyone is) for BFP! Of course it seems like everyone around me is getting pregnant too, some with their second child since I began TTC.  Had an HSC done 12 days ago. Prelim results seem normal...we shall see!  FC and good luck to all!  (I totally had to open the acronym page in order to write this!)
    CS/Q:

    FTTA!
  • @lcmiller21 welcome! I assume you're talking about the clear blue advanced? I had to stop using them because my results were all over the place. Sometimes I'd have 8 days of flashing smileys, some months I'd never get a static smiley. I'm not sure what that says about my cycle but I found it super frustrating when I thought it would take the guesswork out of ovulation. I'm going to try wondfo's this next cycle to see if that's more reliable. Have you tried the regular clear blue or wondfo's with any success?
  • @jennifer_louise Keeping my FX for you! And I feel ya about the TWW... ain't nobody got time for frigging (potentially) 14 days of waiting.

@marbellie YAY for WFH! I bet that has made the day a bit better.

@galentine I'm sorry about your BFN and your toe-stub. That super sucks. Sounds like a good day being a lazy bum, that's exactly what I'm doing too.

@kagesstarshroom That's awesome about the roomba! I totally want one. And I'm sorry to hear about YH, glad that your family is so awesome to try and help make it better.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

CD/DPO: 19 / 2-4 DPO (not sure FF is correct)

    Timing: good either way

Typical LP length: 10-14? again FF is not helpful

Testing: Even though it's early, I'm going to try on NYE because we'll be drinking and I'm a crazy person who can't wait...

R/R: Christmas was good. I decided to call out from work today because I needed a sanity day (plus no one else is there and I would be so bored). I also splurged on getting FF VIP for myself since they were offering if you buy 30 days, get an additional 90 days free. So I'm playing with all the new settings and going down the black hole that is FF analyzers.

CS/Q: Not much... just over here still wondering about O.

    @emmasemm my bad I forgot!

@stephanie123456  i second that sanity day! All the holiday parties feel like they doubled this year. We had so much fun though!

@lcmiller21  welcome!!! haha I also have to use the acronym page frequently! Do you temp too?

@kagesstarshroom  i noticed that about FF too! I think it's just to cover themselves to seem more accurate. If you don't mind me asking, what is bpd?

@marbellie  i dont think I could work from home I would struggle too!

In case anyone is keeping score at home, Im on cycle day 45 ugh! Called the obgyn and she said 1 missed cycle isn't anything to worry about and if it's still not here in 3 more weeks call her back. However I'm pretty sure this was my favorite Christmas ever and other than my uterus the rest of my life is wonderful!
  • @kagesstarshroom I'm here until Sunday morning, so still a while!! I'm sorry your hubby has a hard time during the holidays sometime, but good work HIO in your FW!

Hiiiii @stephanie123456!! Day 17 seems likely for O. I'm impressed by you too for so much HIO during your hubby's recovery. I hope all his (well, your) efforts pay off.

@daisy0322 I have been thinking about you and looking for an update! I'm glad you had an awesome Christmas, but boo on confusing uteri (plural of uterus? Idk). ❤️

  • @kagesstarshroom, that's so sweet about your family treating your H like the missing piece of the puzzle. I love when families are so welcoming.
@lcmiller21, welcome! I hope your stay here is short.
@stephanie123456, enjoy your sanity day! We all need an occasional mental healthy day off from work.
@daisy0322, ugghh I'm so sorry for the long cycle. I hope AF gets a move on!

For all those following my morning disaster saga, there was a sequel that occurred after I posted earlier. I was getting ready for the day and brushing my hair upside down. I didn't realize my H was standing right beside me (opening his bottle of vitamins) when I whipped my head back upright and smacked the back of my head into his hand. Screaming ensued, bottle flew, vitamins scattered EVERYWHERE. 😂 Oh my. We are just a hot mess in the Galentine household today.
  • @stephanie123456 Did FF tell you you O'd one day and then change its mind? It did that for me, too, but the corrected date makes way more sense to me. I thought of the idea to ask my dad for a roomba for us bc one of my friends wanted hers--I hope she got one, and that you get one soon too haha. I am not the best at vacuuming... I also splurged on VIP & blackholed via analyzers ooohboy.

@lcmiller21 Welcome to TB/TTGP board! I still look at the glossary all the time--and sometimes the one that's pinned at the top of this board specifically if I can't find something in the official TB glossary. A+ abbreving.

@cdnrunning I'm using wondfos! Can't speak to their accuracy, but they seem to be tried & true & have a good cost-effectiveness/efficiency ratio according to... The Internet.

@daisy0322 Darn the ObGyn! I hate when they're like "this thing that is not normal to you is actually normal" w/ no good explanation. It's like, okay, I trust you bc you... are a doctor of medicine but ugh really? So glad you had a good xmas despite Day 45. / BPD is Borderline Personality Disorder--it's a self-diagnosis, but one he fits to a T. I'm gonna put a longer explanation in a spoiler bc I just typed a lot about it...
Often ppl w/ depression/bipolar get misdiagnosed as having those when they really have BPD. The main things that I guess are distinctive of it are... 1) it's often passed down bc of emotional trauma (so, like, genetic but dormant until set off?) from a parent who has BPD themselves (in our case, my MIL) & 2) Those who have it are triggered into "episodes" by certain specific (for us, for example, my MIL & the mention of money/bills/taxes are some subject triggers)  & also *anything* that makes them feel inadequate. The example I always use (& this particular example has never happened w/ us, but it's a good one) is if someone w/ BPD made you dinner & you said, "could you pass the salt?", the person could be triggered & think that you're accusing them of being inadequate at cooking & explode & be like "why do you hate my dinner! just make your own dinner then!" 3) When they are in an episode, it's TE-R-R-I-B-L-E bc (& this is how it gets passed down generationally, I would guess) the way they react (that they can't help--) is since you've made them feel inadequate, they want then to in turn make you feel inadequate---so every insult they can think to fling at the person that triggered them gets flung (& these are often loved ones!) MH rarely shows this side of himself to others, which--well, this is part of BPD I don't understand? Considering it's so hard for him to control himself, you'd think he'd explode on everyone, but for whatever reason, ppl w/ BPD usually take it out on loved ones/the people they know best.) And bc they know you best, they KNOW WHAT TO SAY to REALLY get under your skin, so it's super hard not to react! Anyway. MH *alwayssss* apologizes, & we knew he had this when we got married (Thanks, NPR!) & it's something we just deal with as it comes (& maybe a small reason we waited a while [I'm 34, he's 39] to TTC? Sigh.) It's definitely worse on some days/times of year than others &--- but he is 100% worth it & I love him. (I feel like I always need to tell ppl this when I explain BPD since...it sounds really bad?)

@kagesstarshroom you just discribed my mom to a t only instead of yelling she gets mopey and would say "well I guess I'm not good enough at making dinner. I'm not good enough at anything for you then lay in bed for two days but it's mainly to make you feel guilty because it her best weapon against me. i dont think you need to defend loving him. Personally I can't deal with my mother but my dad and her do well together. I think it's probably really different person to person too. Like my mom is probably 80% of the time in a melt down.
  • @galentine I'm sorry to hear about the disappointing tests. Unrelatedly, I must say that the  vitamins encounter.

@jennifer_louise my temping hasn't been at the same time either. Next cycle I will (shudder) be sure to set up a 5am alarm and temp at that time every day.

@kagesstarshroom yes let's go! Can I change mine to 31 so we have the same test date? Or am I just making up excuses? Also, your family sounds really lovely and supportive.

@lcmiller21 welcome and FX for a short stay!!

@stephanie123456 yes working from home was lovely BUT I'll admit that I just woke up from an unwarranted nap lol.

@daisy0322 ugh, that's frustrating. hopefully your cycle regulates soon!
  • @kagesstarshroom I pretty much use the internet for everything, soooo if it stated that, it must be true :)
