We have quite a few bakers and crafters here on TTGP, so this is a place to share pics of what we are crafting and baking this holiday season. Feel free to share recipes, too!
So haven't made these yet this year, but I always look forward to it! It's fun to be a little silly with the decorations. One year me and my brother did ninja ones! Also, surprisingly delicious if you use the Ghirardelli white choco.
I'm not sure how to do a spoiler box! But this is a lemon curd & strawberry pastry braid I made this morning. I made quick puff pastry & it turned out great!
I cant do a spoiler via mobile but I made cookies today for the first time EVER. I know, crazy right haha I just always hated baking because I always attempted to make like huge cakes or decorating a bunch of cupcakes (made 650 for work once) Anyways, they look/smell amazing
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

1/2 Recipe Quick Puff Pastry from Art & Soul of Baking (I'm sure any quick Puff would do, that's just the book I have) 1/2 cup lemon curd (https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/lemon-curd-recipe-1941910 ) 1 cup of cream cheese mixture (1 block cream cheese whipped with 1 egg, vanilla, salt, & sugar to taste) Sliced strawberries 1 egg for egg wash Extra sugar for sprinkling
Roll out pastry to roughly the size of your baking sheet Spread lemon curd on middle third Spread CC mixture on top of that Top with a row of sliced strawberries Slice diagonal strips along each side & braid Brush lightly with egg wash Sprinkle sugar over the top Chill in fridge while oven preheats
@kels0091 those look great! Cookies are probably my favorite thing to bake since they are so easy to transport. Where the heck did you even have room to store 650 cupcakes?? My head is spinning on just how much frosting would be involved, too.
That braid looks awesome! Going to have to try it sometime!!!

@cpiper39 here's the link to the recipe I used for the cranberry cheesecake pie. I had to bake it longer than the recipe suggested because the filling wasn't setting, but that might have been the fault of my oven.
@emeraldduchess thankfully they all got baked within 2 days and then stored in boxes in my kitchen. and then one day for icing them. we used the little containers of icing and it worked out to being I think like 25 or so. so. many. sprinkles.
Picture of the “pies” I made for Turkey Day, lol. Looking forward to making cookies for Christmas! What is everyone’s go-to cookie? I usually make an M&M one that is soooooo good! Pretty sure the recipe is on the back of the bag, ala Phoebe. 😆
@WinchesterGirl That looks amazing! I'll have to check that cookbook out, I'm currently on the lookout for baking cookbooks
@dpjennifer I also love the Captain America pie in the corner...maybe because it brings thoughts of Chris Evans to mind. I don't know what more droolworthy, that pie or Cap himself
I plan to start cookies this weekend if I can find the time. I'll likely start with something simple like spritz but we'll see how I'm feeling when the time comes

@lulu1180 that cheesecake looks AMAZING, pinned for future use! My fam loves cheesecake, that's been my go-to for family dinners lately. @dpjennifer whoaaaaaaa pie! Those all look amazing!!
I never make the same thing twice because I don't follow recipes. My favourite holiday cheesecake is a cinnamon spiced cheesecake over a spiced blondie base, with apple pie filling overtop.
Couple of my faves from previous years:
Chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake with triple chocolate brownie chunks and choc chip cookies with a chocolate ganache drizzle. This one was pretty epic, it disappeared quick.
Cheesecake brownies are also popular. I will probably do peppermint for Christmas but this one is matcha green tea cheesecake with the ghirardelli brownie mix. I think next time I'll add red food colouring to the brownies to make it more festive?
And since we're sharing, I cannot take any credit for these, MF's aunt made them. They're sugar cookies and all the decorations are made out of icing or sugar, 100% edible.

@kiki047 ummm so all of your cheesecake stuff looks incredible and those sugar cookies...is she a professional?! Those are awesome. Mine would all look like the last one except not cute haha. @lillywonderland I'm boring, my go to cookies are always chocolate chip (also off the back of the bag) or my grandma's sugar cookies! @lulu1180 your cheesecake also looks amazing. Gonna have to keep that recipe in my back pocket, I feel like DH's family would love that being in Kentucky and all!
@b_1029 she's not a professional, just super talented and bored living in a small town lol. It takes her weeks to make all the toppings for the cookies, then when she comes into town we have a big assembly party. The family has a booth every year at one of our community fundraisers and they sell all sorts of baked goods, crafts, etc. MF's whole family is stupidly talented. Meanwhile, my mom can burn coffee.

@WinchesterGirl that looks amazing and thanks for sharing your recipe! @dpjennifer your pie spread is amazing and I wish we were family! @kiki047 those look fantastic. I LOVE cheesecakes, but mine never seem to turn out right. I don't get it. The sugar cookies definitely look professional!
Thanks guys! @WinchesterGirl I got tired of how much weavers charged for stuff so I decided to make my own. I would find a weaving guild and see if they have any classes coming up, or demos, etc. It's pretty tedious and you'll get an idea if you have the patience for it or not.
Working on a macrame gift for my mom. Tried a few hangings before and I love how relaxing it is. Don’t judge me too hard. Coming up with a pattern isn’t my forte.
I’m unfortunately not very crafty, but I do love to bake! I’m making peanut butter blossoms and they smell really good 😊 I still need to make spritz and cut outs though! And shop for some presents...I’m feeling behind now 😆 Sorry can’t do spoiler on mobile
Ta da!! Christmas cookies thanks to a recipe from my great-grandmother, although I suspect it's really from Betty Crocker. I did not have enough Christmas cookie cutters, so I recycled some Halloween ones. Please note the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. Also, there's a bat.
