STM, 23 weeks today! Also, why is it that not a single guy has commented on my bump (or the lack of size or anything) because they know how taboo it is, but women are constantly making comments? Wouldn't fellow ladies realize how rude that is? I'm okay with complimentary things like you look great, but when they say things like "when are you going to get an actual belly?" it's just kinda rude....

Have you tried firing back, "When are you gonna get some manners?"
STM 20+5. I’ve been trying to take more skin-only belly pics because I realized I didn’t do it much at all with DD and wish I had done so more so I could see how my body was really changing.
@MRDCle, hah, no, I'm always much more confrontational in my head than real life. And that comment was from another woman who is due five days after me (she was bigger to begin with so she started showing earlier and has more bump than me).
And @HGRich, you definitely should! I took bare belly pictures throughout my first pregnancy, and I'm doing it again this time (when I remember...). The only mistake I made was choosing to do them outside by this one big old tree we have, so uh, yeah, it gets cold fast for those Dec-Feb monthly shots! Haha.
23 weeks today, rocking my turbie twist! 19 weeks vs 23 weeks comparison for fun, in the spoiler below:
Belly doesn’t seem to stick out too much more, but it’s definitely rounding out, especially towards the bottom. That’s her favorite place to snuggle up!
@kangstadt agreed!! Today someone commented that I'm showing and someone else goes "ya right it just looks like you had too big of a lunch". ...thanks? Haha
@kristenhk, exactly! Ugh. I think it bothers me more because I've had a lot of comments made to me in that tone (kind of brush-off style, "oh what do you have to complain about,") when I make any comments about my diet being unhealthy or struggling in the gym. Just learn to keep your mouths shut, people.
@kangstadt it’s funny you say that about guys because my FIL makes comments about my size all the time. So I just ask him the same questions back lol @lilpotatomama I love my turbie twists! I’ve been using them since high school
I’ve been bad about taking pics lately but I feel like I’ve grown a lot this past week
Based on some of the comments it sounds like you guys get, I am thankful that almost no one I work with has been pregnant nor is interested in talking to me about it. That was also my MO before with pregnant coworkers: offer to help if it seemed like they wanted extra help, especially physically, but otherwise not bring it up unless they did... But, I admit, I just had no idea what would be "polite" vs. "annoying" comments to make?
Personally, I have really been enjoying seeing how differently each body looks through this thread and feel like it's taught me even more not to judge up on anyone else's pregnancy. I think everyone looks great... and I am also impressed by people who actually have fashion sense.
