I hope it's ok I started the daily threads! I'm new, so hoping I'm not stepping on toes!

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, monitoring CM, HIO EODish

R/R: Rave - this weekend my H and I did a ton of shopping for a family we adopted for Christmas. H and I then spent a marathon day Sunday wrapping all the gifts while watching Christmas movies. It was so much fun!
Rant - I'm getting kind of antsy about when I'll O. I'm ready to get this show on the road. But then again, if I O today or tomorrow, then AF will be due Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and I'd really like to avoid that if at all possible. Ahhh conflicting feelings.

CS/Q: nope

Hey @galentine! I think it's okay to start threads although it's still a mystery to me! Btw my AF is probably coming on Christmas or they day after too.. Depressing on the holidays for sure!

CS/Q: YES MAJORLY BUT THIS IS TMI SO IT'S GOING IN A BOX

So I started with Softcups after HIO last night, and I CANNOT get it out this morning. Now, this is not my first rodeo, I've used them for AF many times (and DivaCup and LunaCup) but obvi never like this. It feels either 1) stuck on my cervix or 2) suctioned in by all the, ummm, sticky stuff in there. I've tried all the tips on the internet! What now? Call my doctor? How do I explain why I have it in when it's not my period??

@jennifer_louise, oh my!! I have never used one, so I have no advice. If the internet solutions aren't working, I'd probably call the doctor. I wouldn't worry too much about explaining, I'm SURE they've seen much worse.

@jennifer_louise - I haven't ever used softcups, but I had a friend get one stuck before. Idk if you've tried this already, but the only way she got it out was by "bearing down." Basically like giving birth, or pooping.

@galentine Thanks for starting the boards today! Which Christmas movies did you watch? My husband and I put on "Four Christmases" while we decorated the tree, and I wasn't crazy about it. And that is so sweet about your adopted family!

@jennifer_louise I would call your doctor. Maybe also post this Q into the CS/Q thread as well? I don't use Softcups, but many ladies on here do. GL!

R/R: I'm just really into the Christmas spirit and enjoying all things joyful. Here is a picture of the cookies that I made over the weekend. Please note that I did not have enough Christmas cookie cutters, so I recycled some Halloween ones. I turned those into the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. (There's also a bat, but he's not Christmas themed. He's just a Christmas Bat.)

CS/Q: It looks like I'm getting some fertile CM, but I'm only on CD 9. Due to the Progesterone supplements I'm taking, O showed up 5 days earlier than normal last cycle, and it looks like it might be here sooner this cycle. I'll take an OPK this afternoon, but does anyone ovulate before CD 14?

@marebear15 @galentine @elle-0409 thanks ladies! I'm gonna relax a bit and give it at least one more college try but then call the doctor. The awkward thing is that I'm supposed to be in an all day meeting, could be a weird day.

@elle-0409 I O'd on day 13 last cycle which is a bit early for me too. But my fertile CM usually lasts several days, does yours?

@jennifer_louise Yikes! GL in your meeting. Also, that's good to hear about your O date. My fertile CM does last several days, but I just *ahem* investigated and it really is more sticky at this point, so I need to calm the eff down.

WAYDTGKU: IUI #1 this month with letrozole, trigger, progesterone, PNV, Vit D

R/R: well, I'm glad I didn't waste a HPT over the weekend. I still think Flo had a more accurate O date than FF. Flo has given me the same LP +/- a day sometimes but with FF my LP this last cycle was like 15 days and that's well above normal. The first time I had done BBT it said that cycle had a 9 day LP so I don't have a lot of confidence with FF right now.

CS/Q: nothing exciting to report yet

R/R: Got a hasbrown casserole in the oven. I’m off to a Christmas brunch this morning with some girlfriends so it should be a fun time! Had a fun day yesterday too painting pottery and seeing Christmas lights.

CS/Q: my period seems really light again.. I’ve read that red raspberry leaf tea can thicken the uterine lining, anyone have any knowledge to share or have tried this? I just came off BCP in September, so maybe my body still needs more time.

Need to preface this with a big thank you to everyone for your words of support and encouragement last week. I'm feeling pretty positive after having some time to reflect on it, and just hoping and praying for good news on Wednesday.

@galentine anyone can start the daily/weekly threads, it's just whoever gets to it first! I love that you have an adopted family for Christmas - my dance group adopts a family through our local social services group but one of these days I'd love to do it as a family too.
@jennifer_louise ohh man, have you seen that Sex & the City episode where Samantha got her diaphragm stuck? lol sorry, not helpful, that's just what it reminded me of. Anyway, I second what one of the PP said about "bearing down", I find the wide rim of the softcup just hooks on around the pubic bone and really suctions in there. If you can somehow get your finger over the rim to 'break the seal' so to speak maybe that'll help so it won't feel so airtight?
@elle-0409 haha I lovee your Christmas ghosts, what a great idea. I've been watching too many of the Food Network's holiday baking shows and the challenges where they had to use Halloween cookie cutters to turn it into something festive are the best. So creative!

@misshelen86 my period was really light coming off BCP too. In my case it was because I wasn't actually ovulating. Not saying that's what is happening to you, just sharing my experience. I started taking Vitex and that helped regulate my cycles. Hope you enjoy your brunch today, hashbrown casserole sounds amazing.

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, BBT/RHR, CM, Vit C & D, Vit B12, Omega 3s, CoQ10, Metformin, Ovasitol, PCOS/low carb diet, HIO, softcups, acupuncture, doing a monitored letrozole cycle w/my RE this month

R/R: Rave: my follies are measuring between 16-18mm today so I will hopefully O in the next few days. I got the "increased chance of multiples" chat this weekend with my RE because of the letrozole and the fact that I have 3 follies maturing at around the same rate. It doesn't worry me, I'm just hoping for one good egg at this rate.
Rant: the technician at my RE's office that does the blood draws is not very good. I mean, he hits the vein every time but it hurts more than it should and I bruise every time. I shouldn't bruise this much. My arms make me look like a junkie. Also, I forgot I'm going to kind of an important event tonight hosted but the Consulate General of Japan and I don't think my dress hides my arms, I forgot about that when I grabbed something to throw in my bag when I rushed out of the house this morning. Oops!

CS/Q: Temps are still about 0.2-0.3 degrees higher than last cycle but things are looking as they should. I posted my Q in the CS/Q thread about male supplements.

@jennifer_louise Oh goodness! I don't use those so I wish I had advice. I agree that doctors have seen much worse so I would definitely call them. Can YH help you?

@elle-0409 OMG those cookies are adorable! You should totally post that picture in the Holiday Baking/Crafting thread. Not sure about the CM question.

I made Christmas sugar cookies with my twin sister this weekend and was able to drink hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps so that was a plus. Also, DH is going to have knee surgery next Monday and will be recovering during FW

@galentine @jennifer_louise I'm kind of jelly AF is arriving for yall around xmas, as I'll still be in the TWW & my fam (who love alcohol) are going to wonder why I'm not drinking &--I'm not ready to tell people we're trying bc no one has ever pressured me & I'm the type of person who will want to spill all the stuff we put TW around hhere to anyone who asks how it's going & like--it's gonna be xmas, not the time for that! AT THE SAME TIME, you're right, I concede, AF for xmas is not Santa's best gift. Here's to hoping you get something else for the holidays that ISN'T AF & get to leave our board here instead for another.

Also, to answer yr spoiler question: kegels! that's how I got mine out when it was stuck (for AF tho) & I was panicking. Hope that it's already out, tho.

@inthewoods23 I just started FF (not the VIP tho), but considered other apps--is the one that seemed to give a more accurate O date one that doesn't look like it's stuck hanging out w/ Kurt Cobain on the internet in the 90s?

R/R: I'm annoyed w/ myself for just starting stuff like BBT, OPK this month since we're doing a lot of traveling that's going to make it hard to find a baseline/normal for a lot of it. / Just turned in final grades for the semester, which means only a few things left on my (seemingly never-ending) to-do list before I can give myself permission to do some more fun holiday stuff. Though I did, despite my to-do list not being done, start reading TCOYF this weekend--like, I read more than half of it (skipping some chapters).

CS/Q: I'm new at FF/BBT, and TCOYF said you could take it w/in ~the same hour every morning. The first couple days, I took it dutifully at 8am, but this morning, DH woke up early, which woke me up, so I took it an hour earlier & it was WAY lower-- like a whole degree lower and then some-- than it had been the prev. two days. My alarm went off an hour later & I took it again then & it was "more normal" (I have no normal yet, really, TBH) so--I discarded the one I'd done an hour earlier and went with the later one at the normal time I'd been taking it. I live in a very drafty house *not built for winter* & it's been SUPER cold lately outside (30s-40s) which means it's cold inside too. When DH got up, he turned our little space heater on that makes it a better/more normal temp in the house. So my question is... Could the fact that the house was cold & I let 1/4 my body out the covers, even though I was under two blankets, had made my temp so low the first time? I feel like this is the ultimate newb question lol. "Does the temp affect my temp?" siiiigh. So sorry if I'm being extremely dense.

Thanks ladies! My update: I got it out! I'm thinking now that I was just trying to get it out too soon after getting out of bed, maybe walking around and stuff helped. Or, bagel + cream cheese. It was one of those things.

@elle-0409, we watched White Christmas and Elf. We own allllll the Christmas movies and watch them all multiple times each season. Christmas movies are the best! Sorry you didn't care for Four Christmases, that one is kind of odd.

@galentine it's supposed to help build the uterine lining and is high in iron. more here. i'm going for it since i generally have had fairly weak periods. also: i love tea. also: [ tw: loss ]

also: i had a CP in early Oct., and anything I can do that might help that blastocyst attach if we can manage to make another, I am going to try, bc o wow was that painful, both physically & emotionally.

I recently had a CP as well, last cycle, and I definitely feel you on how awful an experience that is. If RLT could possibly help avoid another, I'll have to look into it.

TMI ahead - Speaking of periods, I know clots can be common, but how much is too much? I think I've read in a few places that can make getting pregnant difficult. Any idea if that's true?

@stephanie123456 What a horrible time for YH to have surgery! Is it a scope or a more major surgery? Hoping he has a quick recovery. I just make the copycat Cracker Barrel hash brown casserole on Pinterest (but I added bacon). Cheese is life!!

@kagesstarshroom We are so making RLT happen! Hope you are able to get the rest of your to-do list done. I don’t know the answer to your temp question, but I feel like I’d lean towards the initial reading when you first woke up unless it was super off. Your temp could still be dropping since you’re only CD4? But yes I do remember reading somewhere that environmental temp can affect your BBT. Thanks for the info about RLT!

@stephanie123456 Oh my gosh, hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps is the drink I never knew I needed. I love adding Bailey's to hot chocolate, but the peppermint is so festive!

@kagesstarshroom I wish I had an answer for you re: temping, but I fudge my numbers sometimes based off of travel/time zone/early morning alarms so last month's chart is more like a piece of modern art than an accurate log of my body's temperature.

@jenifer_louise Yay! I bet it was definitely the bagel and cream cheese that solved the issue.

@galentine I love those films! I know it's embarrassing, but I have a soft spot for The Holiday.

@inthewoods23: when DH & I were NTNP, AF was mega clotty for some reason. this doesn't answer your question at all though, but I remember noticing it, thinking it was weird/new but being like "well, we're not using condoms anymore sooo--" so hm.

@jennifer_louise my twin sister definitely doesn’t always make it better. She’s very competitive so it’s a a tough relationship sometimes.

@misshelen86 it’s orthoscopic so not too major. But he’s a big baby so he’ll definitely be having a rough Xmas. Is it totally selfish of me to be worrying about getting our BD on during the FW?

@stephanie123456 no, not selfish! I’d totally be worried about the same thing. I can only imagine what YH is envisioning to get creative with BD while he’s supposed to be recovering, and unfortunately my ideas are not really going to be super sexy lol. You probably just have to play it by ear and see how he’s feeling. I believe it’s totally do-able though. Don’t stress! Also, so super cool you have a twin! But my younger brother drives me crazy enough and we’re 3.5yrs apart, I can imagine life with a competitive twin sister has its own challenges.
