HELP!! I'm in so much pain!!!

I'm in so much pain, guys! This is my 3rd pregnancy and I never felt this with my other two. It's all in my private region/very low pubic bones and it is SOOOO painful! I tried to tell my doctor a few times and he doesn't understand. He told me there was nothing I could do and it can be "uncomfortable." Uncomfortable?!! More like excruciating! The nurse and midwife at the office told me to try a belly band or cradle. I tried 3 different belly bands - including a cradle - and they did absolutely nothing! It's because the pain is not in my back, nor does my belly feel heavy - it feels like I just gave birth and then went horse-back riding for 20 hours and then went on a 100-mile bike ride! I also tried a chiropractor a few times and it didn't help either :( The pain started a few months ago, but now it is so severe that I can barely walk, move, etc. PLEASE HELP! Anyone else out there experiencing this? If so, anything helping you? I don't think I can bare this for another couple months!

Re: HELP!! I'm in so much pain!!!

  • Excruciating pain warrants a doctors medical decision making, not strangers on the internet opinions. If your doctor isnt taking you seriously, or you dont trust their medical advice then get a second opinion.

  • I've gotten several - they all say it happens sometimes and don't truly understand or offer real solutions.
  • So a group of women on the internet are going to override medical advice? Solid plan.  :|
  • I don’t think she is expecting medical advice, just some support or advice. Unfortunately, this is my first pregnancy and I haven’t experienced pain like this. Hopefully someone has some new suggestions for you to help ease your pain! I’m sorry your hurting!
  • Have you asked for a physiotherapy referral? It sounds like you *could* have SPD, unfortunately you’ll need someone who can assess you and make a proper diagnosis but unfortunately there is little that can be done until delivery except a pregnancy belt and some strengthening exercises

This. Uncomfortableness is a part of the game. Finding how to beat manage the pain and still function is tough. I’d press for a second opinion/ other options.

  • exactly! i already spoke with the dr. several times about it - he just said that it's normal for some women and it wasn't dangerous, just difficult. looking for others that have been through this to see what has helped them!
  • Yes, that's what I'm working on now - I can't get in to see a PT for another week or so. Have you had this before? Did PT help?
  • It's called SPD and it is more likely to happen in subsequent pregnancies. It has been worse and worse for me each time. It's entirely normal and there isn't a ton you can do besides pelvic floor exercises and wear a compression band.

  • **Lurking from Jan 19** Is it pressure/aching in your pelvic floor/lady bits? I started getting horrible aching if I stood for longer than 45 min... In my case it is vulvar varicose veins.. unfortunately the only thing to do for those is get a jock-strap like compression belt and wait for them to go away post delivery. Good luck! Hopefully your docs can give you some answers.
  • @Mandamay1414 (sorry to hijack) but tell me how your belt is working for you? I just bought one for varicosities (so fun!!!!)
I’m hoping it helps. I didn’t have (or maybe notice it with my first pregnancy)
  • @ssag it helped a ton with the vulvar aching and pain while standing (I stand for most of my 8 hr shift). I will say the waist strap on mine might be a bit tight because it gets uncomfortable by the end of the day. Hope it helps you!
