Help - bleeding what does this mean

all-Hoping to get a little relief.... I'm 6 weeks pregnant.... Had some brown discharge spotting for about a week.... Went to the doc. And had an ultra sound and they saw what looked like a healthy sac and my hcg levels increasing. Today have been experiencing light bleeding probably more of a pink maroon color. Not enough to fill a pad. Just have minor low back pain which I had the whole time. Any experiences or truths would be greatly appreciated. My heart is hurting right now

  • I’m sorry you’re having spotting, it could be normal, it could be a sign of miscarriage. Nobody on here will be able to give you any additional insight. Best of luck.

I spotted quite a bit during the 1st and 2nd trimesters with my 1st pregnancy.  It was super alarming, but entirely unexplained.  I had a healthy pregnancy from then on out.   I would definitely call and try to get an appointment on Monday if it is continuing through the weekend.  If it gets more significant or freaks you out a ton, you can consider the ER.   Good luck!
  • I had spotting that led to bleeding that was a miscarriage, and a successful pregnancy that I bleed throughout. It really sucks but there’s not much to be done, just sit tight and if you start bleeding heaps or have severe pain get help. It’s worth letting your carer know either way.
  • I had spotting on and off every week from 5-8, ranging from brown to pink and even a touch of bright red on a couple of occasions, coupled with the near-constant low-grade cramping/pressure I've had since before my BFP.  At 8 weeks, zero days, I had a perfectly normal US and haven't spotted since.  I'll be 11 weeks on Monday and fingers crossed that everything is still good.

As others said, tell your doctor and hang in there; I and anyone who's spotted can definitely relate to how scary it is.  While no one can tell you for sure whether your spotting is nothing or the start of a miscarriage, it can dbe completely normal.
  • Keep us updated.

I came home after walking the mall for about two hours and discovered streaks of blood with my cervical mucus when wiping.

Im 6 weeks and 5 days.

I’m as worried as you. It feels like the onset of my period with my lower back hurting

If it is a miscarriage, not sure if I can do anything except wait. Assuming it will take 2-3 days, similar to if I was waiting for my period.

  • Waiting is hard and I know you want reassurance. I had some minor bleeding in my first pregnancy and went on to have a healthy baby boy. I had some bleeding in my second pregnancy that turned into a miscarriage. I hope the bleeding stops, try to rest.
  • I am 10w2d and from 6weeks on, I had a lot of brown spotting. Then one day, I had a lot of deep red discharge, like syrup, with very light cramping that I'd been having for a few days. It was extremely alarming. I called the doc, and they said to rest and hydrate. I went in three days later for an ultrasound and all was well. I haven't spotted like that since, and my little gummy bear is doing great.

I hope the best for you - spotting is normal but I understand it's scary. Just rest and drink water; dehydration can make cramps worse.
