@marebear15 I know it's meant to be flirtatious but it's just... ugh. I can't get past it. Key & Peele did a sketch about it once where she was beating the crap out of him as he chased her around the apartment, hahaha!
Needing a distraction this morning and @marebear15 has inspired some wild kitchen fantasies right now OMG that sounds creepy, I don't mean fantasies ABOUT marebear, lol. Just thinking of some ways to spice things up a little.
Also, here's a few before/after photos of the current progress. We're at a standstill waiting for the prep sink to be delivered so we can get the counters cut, installed, and start on the backsplash/undermount lighting/etc.
Progress photos....
demolition zone:
New LED potlights throughout. New window trim, new crown moulding, new floors!
Cupboard progress!
Still missing some doors, have to fix a couple cupboards. Empty spot on the far right is for side-by-side fridge and freezer. Gas range and hood going in the middle (where the hole in the wall is), stacked ovens going in to the right. Now waiting for counters and sinks! Scheduled Thurs/Fri this week.

@kiki047 - Bhahaha! I'm at work trying so hard not to laugh out loud at your post. Nothing like "thanks honey for the new kitchen" then a "good time." Gotta christen that new kitchen somehow!
@marebear15 right?? Besides, the only thing that turns me on more than MF is the damn sexy quartz counters we picked come to mama. @lcking82@lillywonderland thank you! we're so excited! so close!

@riff323@marebear15 I wish updated versions would change it to make it less.... bad. Like, swap a few lines out so we could keep some aspects of the song (it's catchy! I love a duet!) but make it more 2018-appropriate. For example, I've heard a "gender reversed" version, which illustrates how agency is no longer only with men. She & Him & also Lady Gaga & Joseph Gordon-Levitt have done those (via a quick Google search haha.) There are some lines in the song that maybe were "funny" back then, but really stand out today as "wrong"--particularly, "hey, what's in this drink" always lights a fire under me. If it keeps getting played year in and year out without any reference to context, then the context ("times were different then!") is totally lost & the subtext ("Back then, when a woman said no, a man didn't listen") just keeps repeatedly getting normalized when--we've come so far! ("today, when a woman says no... wait a minute... ")--the way you put it, riff, was too good not to quote here--so, good for that station! I've been listening to the Sirius holiday channels occasionally, and I was surprised to hear them play it bc it seems so.... against all that's been gained for women in the past couple of years So i am here, long-windedly albeit, to stand by you for your unpopular opinion! here here!
@kiki047 I am super jealous of your new kitchen! Love the flooring and the color!

@riff323 I heard about that. And I have many thoughts. My first thought was, “people still listen to the radio?” But I guess I occasionally tune in to the radio and, hear me out local angry loonies out by Riff323, If they don’t play something I want to hear I purchase it or stream it. I reserve my energy and outrage for Starbucks’ cup designs.
@riff323 I hate their coffee too! I like(d) the caramel swirl lattes and will drink their coffee if it also has caramel. And I'm born and raised MA so....
@prpl11butterfly I feel like everyone in MA is obsessed with DD coffee so it's nice to meet someone else who isn't impressed! I do like some of their flavor shots, though.
@riff323@prpl11butterfly not in MA but I like DD seasonal lattes a lot better than Starbucks. For regular coffee though I was always a coffee cart girl when I worked in NYC. Street coffee is cheap and awesome!
Ugh, I thought I was getting out of all work holiday events this year but I just got an invite to a team lunch and review next week.. I really do not want to go. I am currently a contract employee and mostly am treated like less than a full team member, so I barely even know anyone else on the team booooo
@holl321 We just got a puppy a month ago and we have 10 yo and 11yo dogs. They don't love the puppy, but they are warming up to her. The cats on the other hand love her!
I think I got my exercise for today, and I'm so out of breath. Decided to take a 15 minute lunch and made it to the cafeteria about a 1/4 mile across campus, grabbed a to-go lunch, stood in line for my free coffee, and back to work in 15 minutes!
OH DD hot chocolate is amazing. Their white hot chocolate is like drinking a marshmallow! And I don't really like white chocolate, but I'll drink that! Might need to treat myself this weekend.
@emeraldduchess how did I not know this existed?! I love white chocolate and white hot chocolate. I'll have to see if my local (well, locals lmao) have it!
My college roommate got engaged to a guy who's about 57 years old. I know love is blind or whatever, but their relationship has always kind of creeped me out. He's friends with her dad and looks like him too. I also know I'm being judgmental and I'm happy she's happy but...
