People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

How many months have you been TTC?: 4
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: OPKs, and charting my BBT using my Ava bracelet
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Hi ladies! My husband and I were married in this past April, and we are trying for our first! I work in historic preservation and my husband is a lineman. We have two dogs, a cockapoo and a maltese; and we live in New England.
I have a number of health problems, including cardiac issues (pacemaker and structural deficiencies) and endometriosis (stage 3 - had a laparoscopy 7 years ago). I’ve been told that I’ll be considered high risk, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. I’ve been on birth control for 10 years (7 years of continuous) and came off of it in early August. I finally got a positive opk on Friday, so I think we’re officially in our first TWW period!
I do have a question: We have a trip to Vermont planned for this weekend - are massages and hot tubs okay during the TWW? We already have a couples massage booked, and I’m reading conflicting information online on both massages and hot tubs (I can’t stay in hot tubs for longer then 10 mins because of my heart anyways - but there is also a heated outdoor pool).
Thanks ladies! Looking forward to getting to know you!
I'm by no means an expert on this nor have I even done any research, but IMO I would think a standard massage would be fine at a minimum. Maybe the hot stone kind wouldn't be? Prenatal massages are a thing right?
I know hot tubs aren't good for the guys, but I'm not sure about women. Maybe only dip your feet?
Sorry I'm not much help!

@SpongeWorthy Thanks so much for this information! It is great to hear that you know of women with CHD that have had successful pregnancies! I have an OBGYN in Boston lined up that specializes in women with cardiac problems! She doesn't seem overly concerned, and gave me the green light back in August to start trying!
@kindbytealikat Thank you for this info!

As for me, I have no children yet, but I have one dog who is spoiled to pieces. My hobbies include reading, binge watching sitcoms on Netflix, and going to brunch. I'm obsessed with everything Christmas, so I'm excited it's finally (an acceptable) time to turn on the Christmas lights and blast the holiday music!

This is my second round on TTGP. I was on here when we were trying to conceive our son, he just turned 1 in November. I got my period back in August and it's been fairly regular so we've been trying since then. We have two dogs (a sheltie and maltese) and are from New England.
TTC since August 2018
How many months have you been ttc: ummm all the months put together almost a year 1.5 but beach se of medical stuff it has not been non stop I had a leep procedure and a cone biopsy that put holds on TTC .
What are you doing to get knocked up
(WAYDTGKU)
charting .OPKs Clomid (just did a 2nd round but not two months in a row because of medical stuff)
Tell us about yourself:
Ive been married for 10 years this year , we have a 7 year old DS who loves playing soccer. We have just now finished a 2nd round of clomid but decided for this month we are going to naturally try and take some of the stress off. And we live in Northern CA . Oh I was also on here for a few months earlier this year but got frustrated with everything and deleted all of my apps for awhile.
How many months have you been TTC?: I know it is not as long to some on here but 4 months. I got my skyla out after 3 years and it was bent and my doctor told me that I might be able to have children anymore and to try asap for a year and if I have no luck than the IUD cause scaring.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
CM checks, Temp Checks and following Apps.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have 2 boys 7 and 3. I own a cleaning business.
Just looking to get advise if I have have questions or concerns. Maybe help anyone if I know an answer to a problem they are experiencing.

Married since 9/9/12
TTC since 9/13
DX: Unexplained infertility 11/18
IUI #1: Jan 19, BFN
IUI #2: Feb 19, TBD
Ages (you and SO): I'm 34 and my DH is 37
How many months have you been TTC?: I guess 3... Started trying in September after my IUD removal got a BFP on 11/11 and then had an early miscarriage sometime around 5-6 weeks which was confirmed on 11/28, probably because I never go my period after the Mirena was removed so I'm thinking my body just wasn't really prepared to carry a viable pregnancy... so we are back to the TTC game and keeping our fingers crossed for a sticky in the near future!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Prenatals, Vitamin D and "trying" to monitor my CM - my body/cycles seem to be all over the place after the IUD so we just try and have "sexy-time" as often as possible!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): DS is 6 and is dying to be a big brother! We have 2 dogs - a 10 1/2 year old dachshund and a 10 month old beagle/hound mix. I'm a training specialist at my main job but also teach dance to 3-6 year old kiddies on the weekends!
It's nice to be a part of the group!

How many months have you been TTC?: 3
What are you doing to get knocked up: temping / fertility friend, HIO, CM, just cut caffeine because I think it was impacting my stress/anxiety/sleep...which has made me super cranky all week
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have one 2 year old, work in management consulting, no pets, and my hobbies are basically lying horizontally on my chaise lounge by 8pm and telling Netflix that yes I am still watching. My new thing is I am going to try reading.
Everyone here seems super smart and fun I am psyched to be here!
Hi! I was a member here long ago (like 2013-14ish), lurked the bump for a very long time before MH was finally ready to start TTC, then there was an implosion and a migration, something about Lisa Frank, then the migrated board imploded as well. I'm coming back as we start to TFAS. I'll get comfy though, because our first took us 15 months even after DH was ready.
Ages (you and SO): 35
How many months have you been TTC?: Benched til late January.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: We are TTA currently, but I am tracking BBT & CM in FF, prenatals, vitex to help my short LP, trying to lose as much weight as I can in the meantime because it can only help my cause.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): We have 1 toddler daughter who will be 2 in January. I am still BFing her, but that doesn't seem to have affected my cycles since they returned. I have a notoriously short LP, has been as short as 8 days in the past, taking Vitex fairly quickly helped that jump up to 10-11 days and then a BFP last time on our 13th month (CP) and again 15th month TTC. We have 1 dog (the older one in my profile pic passed this summer ) and 3 cats. I am a hobbiest photographer with a degree in it hoping to maybe work my way back to professional (I was long ago), and MH and I own a business besides that.
How many months have you been TTC?: Tricky....I intro'd here in TTGP back in June/July but quickly moved to my BMB. Now I'm back again. So, we've been trying for 3 months total I guess.... We tried a tiny bit in June 2018 when I knew little of the obsession this TTC would become. Tried again in July and got lucky. *TW* Just had a devastating loss of our girl at 18 weeks gestation about 6 weeks ago. *End TW.* Due to my age we are now going full steam ahead with trying again.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Recently I've made it my job to learn the ins and outs of conception, and pressuring my husband. Those innocent days of "trying a tiny bit" are long gone. Now I'm charting w/FF, frequently re-reading parts of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", temping, checking CM, using OPKs like they don't cost money, taking PNVs with folate, adding fish oil, baby aspirin, vit D3, Vitex, CoQ10, Maca. If we get pregnant again I will add Lovenox to avoid another loss (due to blood clotting disorders I just learned about). MH is taking his multis, fish oil, CoQ10.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have a grown child (21 YO) and we have a daughter who just turned 3.
Ages (you and SO): Me 36 SO 42
How many months have you been TTC?: 3
What are you doing to get knocked up:
Monitoring cycles/timing
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): 2 adorable dogs and a crazy cat, work in a very stressful sales job
Ages (you and SO): I am 38, DH is 42
How many months have you been TTC?: Since March. But I had a twin miscarriage in August and then retained tissue, which kept me benched until now.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Charting, OPKs
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I work in a school. DH and I have a 5 year old girl. Would love to girl her a sibling.
DS born 6/2017, became a heart angel 8/2018
CP 3/2019
Ages (you and SO): 37 & 35
How many months have you been TTC?: 6
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Temping, CM. Might try OPKs this cycle.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Married for 11 years next month! We have one beautiful, smart and spunky daughter, Baby Bells, who just turned 2 on Saturday and a lazy cat named Dudley. I am in a finance role at an insurance company and DH is an engineer working for a mechanical contractor as their chief estimator. I read a lot in my spare time and try to stay fit and active. We are a seasonally outdoorsy family in that we live in New England and all hate the cold but love to hike, ride bikes, etc., but hope to also add canoe trips and other activities as we get older. We also love to travel - this year we went to Jamaica, San Antonio, Colorado, the sunny beaches of DE (lol) and London. Next year we have the Bahamas and Phoenix in the mix but hoping to do something more adventurous over the summer but since we are TTC not planning too far in advance as I am still hopeful.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
