Today is my 36 week appointment, the first of my weeklies. I'm thinking it will be pretty straightforward since I already know I'm GBS+ so I won't be getting the swab. I'll mention the weight gain again, swelling of legs/ ankles/feet, nausea and vomiting, back spasms, and the significant pain/ discomfort in my pelvis and inability to eliminate adequately.

Thursday is my growth scan, so hopefully we'll know baby's size in order to accurately assess what, if any, measures need to be taken. Fingers crossed she's on target and not giant like I fear she may be.

Happy Monday all! Woo @katy0990 coming to an end how exciting!

35 weeks on wed but apt for blood work and normal apt to check protein and bp. That's about it. Just the good ol waiting game now.

I had my 37 week today GBS is negative so that’s awesome. BP normal no protein in urine. I have my last appt next week before my induction the week after. Almost there!

39w appt on Wednesday where I will probably have them strip membranes and see what happens from there.

For those of you ladies with bp issues or spilling protein what are your numbers? My bp was better today then it’s been but now my protein level is 260 and my doctor said he won’t worry till it’s 1000 which is confusing since I’ve had pre-e before. He said normal limit is 150

My 38 week appointment is tomorrow (at 37w6d). I'm planning on asking if we can induce this week. Reason being if I don't have to spend $50 for a new vial of insulin that I'll use for maybe a week, I don't want to. It's not a ton, but saving that $50 would be so helpful while I'm on leave. I figure the worst she can say is no. Then my weekly scan with the MFM on Wednesday. So I guess we'll see how this week goes...

@katy0990 thank you, I need to complain a bit lol. Getting close is exciting and terrifying, isn't it???

@mcgeeva strange about the inconsistent answers/ information. I would call and ask for clarification.

@MDKC14 best wishes and fingers crossed that the membrane sweep does the trick!

@CecilB93 I don't think that's a bad idea, and it certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

@CecilB93 I am anxious to hear what they say!! Let us know. It would be nice if you didn't have to spend that extra $$ especially since it will be more than you need.

@mcgeeva I'm 35 weeks this week too. That's strange your doctor is going to let your protein get so high. Maybe since your BP isn't out of control??

AFM I have my appointment this week, should have been last week, but Thanksgiving. I feel like they shouldn't be able to weight you the week after Thanksgiving. I know I overate and my weight this week shouldn't count!! lol I think we're just listening to the heartbeat and measuring fundal height. I'll also submit my hospital pre-check in.

Ahh I want to cry my bp was 179/117 last night due to work issues. I have no clue if these high rises even when temporary which I can feel happening is going to have a bad impact.

@AdorkablePixie girl it was turkey day def shouldn’t count! I was up 5 pounds in a. Week yet I didn’t eat much.

@mcgeeva with my first DD I was induced when my BP was about 140 to 150 range. My protein was normal the whole time so they didn't think it was Pre e. But high BP runs in my family so they didn't want it to get too bad so I was induced. This time the highest ive gotten is 130 and my doctor was a little alarmed since it was the highest ready this pregnancy. yesterday it was 108/72 so they felt better. still being induced because of AMA and BP.

No totally makes sense @babyluv1234. I just emailed my neighbor who is a surgeon to ask her friend who is a fetal doctor about all this info im getting. My son when I had pre-e was delivered when my bp was 188/98 or so.

@katy0990 I haven't even told them yet since that is from last night. which is why im asking a friend of a friend right now since my next apt isn't until monday.

@mcgeeva yikes! Can you call the ob and tell them? I feel like the sooner they know, the faster they can make a decision. They may want to see you sooner than Monday.

@mcgeeva I would probably call and tell your doctor, or send an e-mail. Can you contact them by e-mail? My midwife office has an office e-mail we can send messages to.

My appointment yesterday went good. They ended up doing the GBS swab which I was not expecting. I figured they'd wait until next week, 36 weeks. She talked to me about evening primrose oil and said I can start that now if I want. I went ahead and ordered some off amazon yesterday so I will start taking it once it comes in!

@AdorkablePixie I can only send email to staff which with as many offices as they have I don't know any of them. But I could call and have the nurse pass it along. Now I'm also wondering why I haven't had anyone measure my stomach in the past 3 weeks during apts. Is that weird too??

@mcgeeva I would definitely call! Mine measures at every appointment, but those measurements are notoriously inaccurate.

Had my 39w today and discussed a membrane sweep. But I'm tightly closed at a 1 with 0 effacement and my cervix is sitting too high. So they'll attempt again at next weeks appointment, otherwise they'll talk induction if I look to go to 41w.
Had pitocin with the last and reaaalllyy trying to avoid it this go round.

@mcgeeva they measure me but it seems pointless. I was measuring on track at 35w, then a week ahead at 36, now I'm a week behind at 39.

@mcgeeva I do think it's strange they're not measuring you, but like everyone else said it's really not that accurate. Depending on how baby is positioned, you'll either measure bigger or smaller. I've been consistently measuring a week behind. My midwife didn't tell me what I was measuring on Tuesday and I forgot to ask, but I guess it wasn't too far off. Did you end up calling the office?

@mcgeeva I wouldn’t worry too much about measurements - I’ve read (on Reddit) about all kinds of providers who don’t use them at all.

@AdorkablePixie How are you taking the oil?

AFM I had a good 38 week appointment yesterday. Baby changed station to -1, I'm about 50% effaced, and dilated about a fingertip. Doctor says I am right on track, babe isn't moving too fast or too slow. We are still on track to induce on the due date, and at this rate I am hoping that it'll be fast and without complications. FX!

Now I really feel the pressure to finish my hospital bag

But hey - I feel SO much more relaxed since buying NB diapers and little onesies. Eeeee!

@echo-charlietango girl... I'm so irritated lol. I went in fully expecting to get the sweep to have something to hopefully kick things in gear. But she is content! We'll see how the 40w appt goes I guess.

@MDKC14 I wonder how dilated/effaced you need to be to get a sweep done. I guess it makes sense that they can't do it if they can't easily get in there. I'm wondering if they'll offer me one at my next appointment, when I'll be 39+4. I was only 1.5 cm dilated at my last appt. though so I'm not sure they could do it.

@kadeephd I was under the impression that you only had to be 1 Cm or so but I guess it also depends on how low your cervix is because if it’s still high it would t be easily accessible.

@kadeephd @kristah2 yeah, she was trying to reach far enough up but said she just couldn't reach far enough so dilation wasn't an issue I guess. She was really reaching though 😂

@echo-charlietango I take them by mouth. One pill three times a day, then at a certain point two pills three times a day, and then up to labor three pills three times a day.
