Any upcoming appointments? 2nd Anatomy Scan this morning. FX baby is good and we can get a decent photo for an announcement. MH is pushing for one, so I need to suck it up lol
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? FX there's some good baby deals! I'll be online shopping at least in case something good comes up.

  • @kristimh80 Heartburn is the worst!! Good luck at your a/s today and please let us know how it goes - fingers crossed for good pictures and everything to be where it's supposed to and developed right on track!!

How far along? EDD? 21 weeks, 3 days today.
How are you feeling this week? Feeling good overall! I think I'm experiencing some round ligament pain, especially when I sneeze or sit up too fast, but it's not so bad. The pregnancy pillow has been helping with hip pain at night some nights and not others, so I can't figure out if it's actually helping or if some nights are just better than others. But I'm glad I kept it and that at least it's comfy even if it's not magical? lol
Rants/Raves/Questions? No real rants or raves this week but QUESTION for you all - have you heard of this turkey salmonella recall going on? I can't seem to find good actual information on it. I know ground turkey is affected, but what about whole turkeys (aka Thanksgiving turkeys) - what do you all know? I've heard some people swearing off eating ANY turkey this week but don't know if that's extreme or what.
Any upcoming appointments? Fetal echo in one week (11/26)!
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? I'll probably check out online deals but don't plan to go shopping in person at all... I actually have a decent amount of my Christmas shopping done but still need to fill in a few things here & there.
Feel free to share a HDBD pic! I will when I take one this week! I should have taken one yesterday right after my haircut - does anyone else experience that feeling right after a haircut of, "I need to take all the pictures now because no way I can actually replicate this style myself?" ;)

  • @kristimh80 Good luck with the a/s this morning! Hope you get a great pic!

@uterusdreams I've read that all turkey is possibly affected. If it's fully cooked, you should be safe to eat it. HOWEVER, the prep of it is important too. Did the person cooking wash their hands after handling it raw, before touching other stuff, including basting or stuffing it etc. I don't trust my MIL's cooking, so I plan to avoid the turkey lol I prefer the sides anyway!

How far along? EDD? 26w3d, Feb 22
How are you feeling this week? Good, excited for some time off work and with my family!
Rants/Raves/Questions? My first shower is this Sunday, and my 37th birthday is Saturday. Going to be in Ohio with my family for all of it, so super happy about that!
Any upcoming appointments? 1hr Glucose tomorrow. Any ladies with PCOS ever passed this??
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? I hate black friday shopping! I have all my family shopping done already (I watch for deals throughout the year) and will hold off on more baby stuff until after our showers.
Feel free to share a HDBD pic!

  • @halips I have PCOS and I passed the 1-hr test with no problem! I eat a lot of sugar in general, so I was pretty scared I would fail. I am taking metformin, though (and have been for about 3 years, since I found out about my PCOS). The OB seemed to think that it would help with preventing GD. GL with your test!!

  • @kristimh80- I feel you on the heartburn! It seems like its a nightly thing now, no matter what I eat really. I think I just run out of room by the evening! So far Tums and Milk have been helping, but last night I gave into a zantac. Really hoping I don't have to take one daily. Good luck on your second scan today!

@uterusdreams- I did hear about the turkey issue too. I thought it was mainly ground turkey. My mom is cooking our turkeys, and I trust her to be very careful. I also think the risk could be more in the side dishes if the prep/area hands aren't kept clean, since most people cook turkeys plently long enough.

@halips- happy early bday! Your weekend sounds great! Can't wait to hear about your shower!

How far along? EDD? 26+5 today! This is my last week in the second tri group I guess! I believe 27 weeks is third tri?
How are you feeling this week?   THis weekend was a little rough with nausea and poor sleep. I think its just normal pregnancy nausea, but started to get a little worried I was coming down with something else. Going to be doing lots of hand washing at our family thanksgiving (24 people) since I really don't want to catch something!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave- both me and DH are feeling so holly jolly already. The last 3 years were so rough for the holidays (failed cycles right before christmas the past 2 years). So really just soaking it in this year and feeling pure joy about our baby on the way.
Any upcoming appointments?  Nothing until next week when I have the GD test. Not looking forward to that like everyone else!
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? I am planning to check and see what they have! Its kinda hard since our showers are in Dec/Jan. But if we find a good deal on our Nest camera on Amazon, we may just go ahead and buy that ourselves! Its a little early.. but maybe its worth stocking up on some diapers if they have a really good deal at Target or something!

  • Thanks ladies! 2nd AS was much better!! Baby was actually calm and we were able to get good pics. I'm happy, this time she actually looks like a baby :)

@uterusdreams Ugh on the turkey deal. I don'y eat it anyways, so happy to avoid that. Guess it's best to be safe that sorry!

@JamieH2000 I take Zantac twice a day, but I did read last night that someone suggested doing a little baking soda and water and said it works wonders! But someone did note to do at night because can make you bloated. I may try that tonight.

@mag1cbeli3ver You make me feel better about the glucose test. I'm a carb addict and have my fair share of dark chocolate lol I like to think our bodies are so use to processing it, so it helps! @halips It never dawned on me to be worried due to PCOS.  :D

@halips Happy early birthday!! Hope it and your shower are a lot of fun this weekend and you get a bunch of things you have been wanting!!!

  • @kristimh80 YAY for a good anatomy scan!! And for getting to see your little girl again. :)

Thanks for the turkey feedback. We're eating at my aunt & uncle's house and they're usually pretty trustworthy in the kitchen so hopefully we'll be okay!

  • @kristimh80 glad you had a great anatomy scan!!
@halips I was on metformin and taken off of it at 10 weeks.  Passed my first 1 hr gd test (they tested me at 12 weeks because I had gd with my first pregnancy and a bit overweight.

How far along? EDD?  14+5. 5/15
How are you feeling this week? Feeling okay physically- emotionally still all over the place due to our bleeding scare on Thursday.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I wish pregnancy could just be easy.
Any upcoming appointments? My next appt is Dec 4
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? Haven’t even been able to think about shopping yet.
Feel free to share a HDBD pic!   Don’t quite have a cute bump yet- still looks more like a blump.
  • @bpietronicco Awe sorry it's been a rough few days for you! Did they ever conclude what caused the bleeding? Maybe a SCH? I feel you on the "blump" bump thing. I felt like that was me for a long time!

  • @kristimh80 they said it could have been another SCH- but no evidence on ultrasound. I had one around 10 weeks that resolved itself after a little brown spotting.  This was red with clots - the only other thing they said it could possibly be is the placenta is pretty low close to the cervix but not over it.
  • How far along? 27+1 last week of 2nd trimester!
How are you feeling this week? Tired and heavy. Today baby decided to lay horizontal and it's extremely uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Sorry I was MIA last week, I was busy with my boys' birthday party and feeling a little under the weather. And then my youngest developed an allergic reaction to something and now he wakes up in the middle of the night because he itches. Me and DH are exhausted. But I'm very proud of myself for the party - I cleaned, baked and cooked and everyone had a good time! All in all, a good weekend.
That said, I can't wait for this weekend to come. I need some rest.
Any upcoming appointments? Nothing this week.
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? I need some baby clothes so I'll probably be going to Carter's on Friday. I need to update my list and see what exactly I'm missing. I might look for a bassinet if I can't get a used one by Friday, just because I want to have everything ready before the end of December and having all the items I need motivates me to clean and organize our room to make space for baby.

I'm on my phone so I'll save the individual replies for tomorrow when I'm on my computer.
  • How far along? EDD?
    21 weeks, 1 day

How are you feeling this week?
Good but started with a bunch of aches and pains this past week (which I've been lucky to escape up until now!). I'm getting occasional round ligament pain when I get up quickly - had me doubled over and grabbing my belly a couple of time, freaking out DH in the process! I also have very achy hips in the night so I've been experimenting with extra pillows - haven't gone for an actual pregnancy pillow yet.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I can finally feel baby moving internally, like tiny little taps! Such fun.

    Any upcoming appointments?
Glucose test & OB appt in 3 weeks

GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week?
I'm trying to finish researching some of our bigger items this week so that I'll be ready to grab something if I see it go on sale online. Would be so nice to get a deal on a stroller or crib!

  • @bpietronicco So scary! Good to see that they don't believe it's anything to worry about though. My other thought was maybe there was a fibroid that ruptured, but they probably would have seen that. Only thought it because the MFM doctor saw one on the outside of my uterus that no one had even mentioned. FX that's the last you see of anything!

@scikap Yes! I've been feeling the same with the round ligament pain. Not sure how many more times I'll be about to adjust the bottom of my car's seat to help. Sadly, in my head when it happens I start thinking how I need another car that I can slide out of lol

@more14 Happy last week of 2nd tri, but ouch on baby sleeping crazy!

  • @bpietronicco ack, so scary!! Fingers crossed that whatever it was has resolved and all is good from here on out. <3

@scikap yes to the RLP, it's so annoying! And I never thought of looking for baby stuff on Black Friday deals but that's genius. We still have a lot of the basics from our 7 y/o, at least furniture-wise, but need new infant car seats and maybe a new stroller... I guess I need to start looking online to see what deals are out there!!

  • @kristimh80 so glad a/s was better this time! Yay for cute pics!!
@bpietronicco so scary! hopefully it resolves itself quickly and you can relax a little!

  • How far along? EDD? 22 weeks, 4 days
How are you feeling this week? Pretty good
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have two more work trips to get through before the baby comes. First one is in two weeks to Vancouver. I’m so over it! Super excited for Thanksgiving too and to get a little break from work.
Any upcoming appointments? Dec 3—fetal echo; Dec 5-regular OBGYN
GTKY:  Anyone taking advantage of Black Friday deals this week? I don’t think so. We have mostly everything from the first one. Will need to buy possibly a crib and definetly a double stroller.
Feel free to share a HDBD pic!

@kristimh80 are you announcing on IG? If so, I can’t wait to see it. We’re announcing on Dec 3 once we get results from fetal echo and if it’s good. Glad AS went well!

uterusdreams RE: Turkey recall: My brother may be smoking the turkey so I won’t be eating it then anyway. But like others have said too—I enjoy the sides more anyway. That’s amazing that you have your Christmas shopping done already. How’d you do that? Teach me. Lol. I haven’t even started.

@halips I can’t believe you have your Christmas shopping done too!!! Have a great shower! And happy birthday!  Can’t wait to hear all about it.

JamieH2000 can’t believe this is your last week with us. I will see you on the third tri board soon. J I really feel your joy through your post. And that’s great that you’re enjoying every moment of this. I was like that with my first especially and even now with her being almost 2 years old, I really enjoy every single moment with her and WANT to spend time with her, because it took so long to get to that point and to have her. Even though the struggles suck, I feel like it makes me a better mom…not sure if that makes sense.

bpietronicco congrats on passing the glucose test!

Wanted to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  • @halips- yes, 27 weeks makes sense to me, since if you divide 40 by 3, each trimester is 13.3 weeks. Regardless, I am going to miss our second tri group here!!

@kristimh80- I am going to consider the baking soda! Ice cream also helps me.. but I can't eat that every night (or shouldn't!)

@bpietronicco- Pregnancy should just be easy after everything else we went through! BUT you are to the second tri, so hopefully things will get more routine and no more bleeding! I remember the weeks up until 20 just dragging. Hopefully the holidays will help it go more quickly for you!

@more14- the party sounds awesome! I hope this weekend can be a little more low key for you. I often wonder what position baby is in.. any way you know yours is horizontal right now?

@scikap- I remember having alot of aches/pains around 21-23 weeks. i think i went through a bit of a growth spurt then. Its been better the last few weeks, but I feel like another spurt is coming soon. Hard to believe how much bigger we will get!

  • @kristimh80- you should post your annoucement on here too since I don't have IG! We would love to see it!

@drove2u- I missed your post while I was posting! Your trips sound awesome! Glad you are getting to some neat places while you can :)  I totally get what you are saying about being a better (or more appreciative mom). The only good thing I can see from IF is the gratitude and hopefully empathy I have gained. However, i feel like I cursed myself about being so joyful yesterday! I got some bads news that a mole i had removed last week came back as severely abnormal (borderline early melanoma), so they want it out ASAP. I checked with my nurse/OB and they agreed. So now I have a surgical procedure next week to take a chunk out of my back. I had the same situation 4 years ago, and it was actually pretty painful after since it was like a two inch incision. Just worried about already being uncomfortable and not sleeping great, and now this extra pain too. Feels like a damper on my holiday joy :(

Oh I'm so sorry that you have to do a procedure now. Total damper. Ugh! You so don't deserve this or need this right now. I hope your recovery ends up being fast though. fingers crossed and I'll be thinking of you! And yes, I guess I shouldn't have said 'better' mom, I did mean appreciative.

As for Christmas shopping, I hate the Christmas crowds in stores and people are so mean that I don't want to ruin my holiday spirit lol So I shop sales on amazon and target etc all year round. It's easier that way and let's me be more thoughtful with my gift giving.
@JamieH2000 so sorry you have to have that procedure now. Hopefully you heal quickly and are able to find a way to be comfortable!

  • @drove2u and @kristimh80- Thanks ladies! I just messaged you both!
@halips- thanks for the kind words as well! I was in a pretty bad mood about it last night, but feeling more resolved today to just get it over with and move on. Obviously very fortunate to have caught it early, so trying to focus on that. My nurse did say that pregnancy can cause moles/growth/etc to grow faster given the hormones and inflammation, so this is my PSA to just get a general skin check whenever you can if you haven't had one in a while :)

  • @Drove2u such a cute bump!!! I am still a blump.
  • @JamieH2000 I can usually tell from the way my belly is stretching, the little round bump and the direction if the kicks/nudges I get.
The day she was horizontal, I had her rump or head to one side really pushing out) and my belly looked like someone was pulling out the sides  :D
I can always tell where she is. Right now she's on my left side, a little towards the bottom. The bigger they are (or the smaller you are), the easier it is to tell  :)
Sorry to read about the mole but it's a good thing you're taking care of it now! These things shouldn't be ignored or postponed. FX your recovery will be fast and easy!

  • @JamieH2000
I'm super fair skinned and have had several severely abnormal moles removed over the years (nothing recent so I think I got rid of all of the big offenders in my 20's haha). Preg hormones can affect mole growth. Good thing you caught it early; they can take it off and you can forget about it!  The procedure isn't so bad depending on how big the mole is -- most of mine were only 5-6 mm and didn't even need stitches. I generally just let the derm shave off whatever he wants now when I go in but at my last appointment he couldn't even find anything >.>  If you ever have any questions, just let me know

I've been slacking on my derm appointments but I don't really have any moles left for him to look at >.> I just keep track of them on my own and that seems to be sufficient. My derm said that most severely abnormal moles aren't on track to become melanoma anyway; we just take them off because it makes us feel better. He says that most melanoma arises from a new mole that you haven't seen before.

  • @mbradfo2- thanks for the info and sorry you have dealt with this too! Good for you continuing to track your own! Most of my moles will be gone after this as well.  I am very glad we caught it early, but unfortunately my derm likes to take a huge chunk to make sure we get "clean" margins. My scar from my last surgically removed mole is 2 inches :( that is interesting they said that the most severly abnormal ones don't become melanoma! They told me some some pathologists would have labeled mine as early melanoma. Makes me wonder how right they are? Anyways, it will be over in 24 hours and just hoping the pain isn't as back as last time since I can only take Tylenol!
