Re: Week 2 Check-in 11/19

  • Due date: 3/12

Any appointments? Questions?:  Next appointment is on the 26th.  Can't wait to see where my weight is post-Thanksgiving binge!

Rants/Raves?:  I think both of my DDs are going through growth spurts or leaps or something because good GOD they have been cranky.  We had the longest weekend ever.  I actually ended up crying in the bathroom on Saturday.  Needless to say, I'm happy to be at work today!

How are you feeling?:  I feel ok.  The heartburn and nausea are still pretty awful at night, but my energy is up.

GTKY: Do you have any special thanksgiving traditions? Anything you’re particularly excited about this year?  My family has always spent Thanksgiving with friends, and we're doing the same this year (after missing last year).  I'm excited to see all of the kids together!

    2. Next appt on the 30th. I'll be about 25 weeks at that point.
3.Rants/Raves: excited for thanksgiving! Also, my BFF had a 10 hour layover in Denver, so she came up to visit me kinda last minute! It was so great to see her.
    4. Fine. Still nauseated at night and in the mornings. At least with the meds I don't throw up. Also oj gave me heartburn last night with back aches.
GTKY: not really. Just see both sides of family. Excited for all the food and time with family

  • @dtspmama Cranky kiddos are no fun.

    Due date: March 10th

Any appointments? Questions?: Just had a very good appointment this morning. Doc said baby girl is 1 pound 12 oz, which is perfect he said. I asked him where I needed to be for weight wise and he said since they are measuring baby, they aren't too worried about it. He just said it's more weight for me to lose after she's born. Which made me feel less paranoid.

Rants/Raves?: Had a 24 week scan during my appoint and got to see my princess. The sonographer surprised me with 3D photos. Some are creepy, but then There is one where she sat still and it turned out absolutely perfect. You can perfectly see how beautiful she is.

How are you feeling?: I feel okay, I am sore for some reason and not sleeping the greatest. I've got carpel tunnel in my right hand it has gotten worse with pregnancy. I woke up saturday night and last night with my knuckles just killing me.

GTKY: Do you have any special thanksgiving traditions? Anything you’re particularly excited about this year? My husband and I are hosting thanksgiving for our families (we have small families) and they are helping us with some remodeling so they'll be doing the fun stuff while I cook the food. :)

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.
Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016.
Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.
They will be forever missed. <3

  • @dtspmama I’m glad my appointment is tomorrow for that very reason!

@kenneylynn3 yay for surprise visits with your friend!

@bdesterhouse yay for a good appointment and scan!

Due date: 3/15 (Dr says 3/12)

    Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment tomorrow

Rants/Raves?: Rant: DS has had a cough for a little while now, finally broke down and called the ped to get him in. Unfortunately they couldn’t get him in tomorrow morning (when I have an OB appt in the same office) but we did get squeezed in this afternoon.

How are you feeling?: Starting to feel big... some pelvic achiness, some RLP, and extra hungry.

GTKY: Do you have any special thanksgiving traditions? Anything you’re particularly excited about this year? No traditions really, we trade off years between DH and my families. This year is with my family, so looking forward to visiting with everyone and my mom’s stuffing!

  • Due date: 3/10

Any appointments? Questions?: next appointment is 12/5. We are looking into changing providers to a hospital that has the lowest c section rate. Not sure what that will mean for appointment costs - if I will be stuck footing the bill for our appointments at the other provider.

    Rants/Raves?: none

How are you feeling?: love feeling baby move every day but I easily freak out if she has a less active day or time period. Also I was having tailbone pain that I thought was due to walking too much because it usually was unbearable after walking my dog but I got a donut for my chair at work (which is hard) and it's much better now and it hasn't had a flair up since sitting in the donut! Something to think about if you're having tailbone pain.

GTKY: Do you have any special thanksgiving traditions? Anything you’re particularly excited about this year? Family reunion at a water park.

  • Due date: 3/12

Any appointments? Questions?: next appointment is November 30. We did a prenatal class last weekend and they recommended limiting visitors in the delivery room/visiting at the hospital (ie wait to tell people until after baby is born, wait until back at home to have visitors, etc) which my husband thought was a good idea. Especially since it will be flu season and all. I know my mom will be disappointed so I'm not looking forward to telling her that our birth experience will be just me and him. Anyone else keeping this a private "event"?

Rants/Raves?: Just got back from our babymoon to Vermont. Can I go back to the spa now? Lol

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, no complaints this week!

GTKY: Do you have any special thanksgiving traditions? Anything you’re particularly excited about this year? Weve been doing our own thing the past few years at home. Mostly just excited for pumpkin pie!!

@smf2018 I wanted the whole event to be private. However, my wife said something along the lines of her needing a break during the labor, as my sil did. Since that conversation, I've been more open to the idea of me mom being there during the labor and after delivery for support and if any "what-if's" where one needs to be with lo, someone can still be around for me. I would rather everyone stay away until after the hospital stay.

ETA: wanted to add that I asked my mom and DW to get the TDAP and flu shot. Everyone else just the flu shot.

  • @smf2018 labor will definitely be a private affair for us (it was with DS - although both my mom & MIL came back for just a minute to say hi). I’m a very private/modest person, so I had zero interest in additional people being in the delivery room.
In hospital visitation was limited to grandparents and our siblings. Like @Kenneylynn3 said, I know most of my family will have had the flu shot, too, which makes me less nervous to have them visit in the hospital.

    Any appointments? Questions?:

First week of December is my glucose test. I am starting to feel super anxious/paranoid about it.

    Rants/Raves?:

    Nothing this week.

    How are you feeling?:

Fine. Starting to have a bit more tr ou ubke sleeping. Whatever side I sleeping on, my arm falls asleep. Husband thinks it's time for a pregnancy pillow, but will that help?

GTKY: Do you have any special thanksgiving traditions? Anything you’re particularly excited about this year?

No traditions, really. I'm working tomorrow (sigh...nurse life), and DH has gone to his grandparents to celebrate, so my parents brought me some turkey, noodles, and Momma's homemade hot rolls. I am stoked to have one of her rolls with peanut butter for breakfast tomorrow  :)

@smf2018 I don't plan to have anyone in the delivery room besides my husband. I have no expectations of keeping our parents from being out in the waiting room though; first grandbaby for all, and I'm pretty sure we'd have to beat them off with a stick. They will be allowed brief visits before things get rolling, and then can come in once we're all settled afterward. No way in hell will anyone but DH be there when I'm pushing. Eff that.

  • @Kenneylynn3 @lelkcot @lucysmom2016 Thanks for the feedback! This will be the first grandchild on my side as well, so I fully expect to get a lot of push-back on our decision. I agree with asking everyone to get flu shots and likely TDAP especially for grandparents. My sister's in laws (and therefore her husband) are not vaccinated for anything (his mom doesn't believe in vaccines........). We live about 2.5 to 3 hours away from everyone, therefore I really don't want to tell people that baby's on the way and constantly be paranoid/thinking about the fact that everyone is there just "waiting." Lol...I just think I'll be more comfortable telling people to just meet us at the house when we're ready for guests, but I just worry about taking away the experience from my parents. Especially because my aunt (mom's sister) has been EXTREMELY involved in her own daughter's birth and baby care/visiting (and somewhat over-involved in my opinion but that's not my decision to make) I know ultimately it's my (and my husband's) experience more than anyone else's though! I need to learn to stand up for myself, I just have difficulty saying no ;):(
