Has anyone used one of these, below? I'm planning to get one so I can wash DD2 in the tub with DD1 to cut down on time and water use.

Last time we used a cheap amazon bathtub with infant sling style insert. It worked well with the 3 sinks we used it with until DD1 could confidently sit up on her own in our laundry sink. It was large though, and a little tough to store.

If anyone is interested in the little duck that tells you if the water is too hot, don't bother. We got one last time and it seems to say anything above body temperature is hot. It's a cute toy that DD1 still plays with, but for a functioning water tester, it's useless unless your baby is EXTREMELY sensitive to warm water.

i have not used that tub accessory, but i had it on my registry. I went to see it in person and Target and its kind of hard, so then i was like ehhh I don't know if i wanna put baby in something so hard against the skin, theres really no give to the blue part in the middle.
We have a huge tub, jacuzzi style, so i am thinking i may want to focus on a kitchen sink tub bc that will probably be a lot easier on my and SO's back. I ended up putting this one on there as well just in case, if anyone has used it?

Yes!!!!! That duck is completely worthless. Ours said hot in the room temperature air, so I'm pretty sure it was defective to begin with.

We have one of those blooming baths (in spoiler). I used it for as long as possible in our kitchen sink until moving into the bathtub and putting it in a small laundry basket. Once we outgrew the small laundry basket, I put it in a larger one. Once sitting was better established, I just stuck with the laundry basket. Once I was comfortable, I got rid of the laundry basket. I'll probably stick with this again.

Does anyone have suggestions for anti-slip in the tub? I always think I find something I like, then end up not being able to make up my mind.

I'm looking into the infant tubs too. Our kitchen sink is divided in the middle so each half is kinda small for bathing a baby and I think we will have to wash him in our bathtub.

With DD we used something similar to the blooming bath, and washed her in the kitchen sink until she was able to sit up on her own. Once we put her in the tub we just put a hand towel under her so she wouldn’t slip around.
We also have a whale faucet cover because I don’t know how many times that kid almost hit her head on that thing. Over the years we have also accumulated a tub of bath toys that I keep in a cute basket next to the tub.

My cousin highly recommended this - it is floaty sponge material and her baby (born in June) loves bath time.

We have a 4moms spout cover that also tells the temperature of the water coming out, totally love it and agree that duck is worthless.

I also really recommend these scrubbies, they were recommended in our newborn care class and they are awesome.

We had a fisher price baby tub with sling insert that worked well - it has moldings on the bottom so that it can straddle a divided sink or sit flat.

As the resident super cheap, hardly-buys-anything person, here's my two cents. We had a gifted hooded baby towel and baby shampoo. That's all the baby specific bathing stuff we had. We bathed D in the bathroom sink for the first couple weeks. It was really too small, but we made it work. After that, we just had her in the tub with a very small amount of water. Not even to her ears. Putting a wash cloth or hand towel on the bottom of the tub works great for keeping them from slipping around too much. We kept it pretty basic, and I don't plan to get anything else with this baby. We have a large dish pan that I might use this time because our current tub is much deeper than our previous tub (making it more difficult to lean over and hold and wash them.) We'll see.

We have a baby tub with an infant sling that clips in, we really liked it. And we used it on his bathroom counter (which I’m pretty sure is a no no) so we didn’t have to bend over the tub. Was great until he was sitting well and we moved him to the tub. Will probably uses it for a little while with LO, then looking at a little chair that clamps into the tub so both kiddos can be in there once she’s bigger.

And I second that temperature duck being useless (but cute).

I’d wait to buy baby bath soap until after baby showers. We ended up with enough baby soap/shampoo to last our daughter’s first 2 years (we technically still have some but I rebought my favorite brand recently since we just ran out of it)

We have the Fisher Price infant bathtub with the sling clip insert. We used it on the counter as a newborn/infant and then had it in the tub as he got bigger without the sling. We really liked it. I second what @mamakate1616 said about the scrubbies! The hospital sent one home with us and DS loved that as a way to wash his hair under the running sink water.

We also have the Fisher-Price one. I recommend getting hard plastic toys that are cleanable, not the soft rubber. Toys get moldy, especially the insides so get something easily washable.
