I'm thankful I was already planning on working home today since we ended up getting our first snow of the season and they definitely didn't prep the roads at all so they are a mess. I'm also thankful that Saturday we have an afternoon party and an evening event that means I don't have to make any food that day! Besides the food, the events should also be fun, but I definitely have food on the brain. Annnnd I'm thankful for Thanksgiving being just next week! I'm looking forward to a break and delicious food!
@mayoduck I'm glad you stayed home to work. Everyone here freaks out when the "s" word is mentioned in the forecast, and I am like you: laptop comes home so if it's bad, I'm prepared. I don't go out on the roads if I don't have to, especially if I'm pregnant!
I'm thankful for our office potluck because I love having a pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving meal. Thanksgiving is my favorite major holiday.
I'm also thankful for the other gluten-free people in the office. I was the only one for a long time and kept it secret. (I work in a food manufacturing company where "gluten free" was scorned because wheat is life, haha; now various co-workers and some of their spouses have had difficulty and were told to go gluten free so I've been emboldened).
I am thankful they canceled school today so I didn't have to drive all over in the freezing rain while the husband is out of town, and got to work in sweatpants from my bed all day.
I’m thankful for a three day weekend and for starting it off with the first fire of the season! Also super thankful my paycheck issues were finally resolved today!
Speaking of the crappy weather... I had to drive in it and I'm thankful that my car and I got home in one piece! They were predicting mostly rain, but we ended up getting several inches of snow/sleet instead. My normal 7-minute commute turned into 45 minutes. Skidded off the road several times, thought I got stuck twice, and had to navigate rush hour traffic in a very congested area. I'm just so relieved I didn't have to get police involved, nobody got hurt, and I got home to feed the pup before it got too late. Also a good wake up call to get my brakes checked out before the next storm...
Thankful that when a tree came down last night due to ice it didn’t block the driveway and DH could get to work! Also thankful we have a generator because otherwise we’d have no power.
