Re: Group 1 check in W/O 11/12

  • Due date/W+D: 5/2, 15+4

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado/Orange/Crayon

Any appointments? Questions?:  No more appointments until the 29th.

Rants/Raves?:  DH got home today after being gone since Thursday!  I felt so out of sorts without him.

How are you feeling?:  Still tired, but other than that, feeling well.  Someone heated up something at work today that smelled amazing, and it was nice to actually want to eat.

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day?  A slow morning with a good breakfast, possibly out at our favorite restaurant, and playing with DD.  She's usually pretty happy in the mornings.

    Due date/W+D: 5/5 15w, 1d

Baby is the size of a(n): Eggo waffle.

Any appointments? Questions?: I had my hematologist appointment today, and it went pretty well. The Dr. said he thinks my high platelets are likely just my body reacting strangely to the pregnancy, and as long as they stay below 1,000,000 (they were at 900,000 something), we don't really have to worry about it. He is going to ultrasound my spleen to see if it's enlarged, and I will have monthly blood draws to make sure my platelets aren't going over 1,000,000, but as long as they aren't, he doesn't think anything needs to be done. Anyway, I have another appointment in a month after the spleen ultrasound.

Rants/Raves?: I'm glad that this pregnancy is at least not threatened by my weird platelets, and I guess I'm going to tell my boss that I'm pregnant tomorrow... I'm nervous 'cause I don't really know him all that well, but I'm greatly looking forward to wearing maternity pants to work all the time.

How are you feeling?: Probably TMI, but I think I'm getting another UTI... not fun :/

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? Waking up before everyone else, in a house that is (magically?) already clean so that I can curl up on the couch with a soft blanket and a book and a cup of tea and read in peaceful, quiet solitude.

  • @brie_and_almonds So glad to hear that your hematology appointment went well!  I'm also glad to hear they're keeping an eye on it.  As for the UTI....ooof, I am so sorry.  I used to get those a lot and they are just horrible.  I hope you feel better soon.

    Due date/W+D:  15 weeks, 2 days

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado (i can't imagine her being that big already????!)

Any appointments? Questions?: None until after Thanksgiving, Gender Reveal Ultrasound was yesterday though! It's a GIRL!

    Rants/Raves?: Nothing as of now!

How are you feeling?: Honestly pretty great except I am having such a hard time getting ready in the morning! I feel slightly nauseous and dizzy and brought the office chair in as a permanent bathroom addition at the moment haha.

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? I do love doing a little mini morning yoga session but on days I go into the office I'm lucky if I can get out of the door before the time I'm supposed to be at work!

  • @brie_and_almonds I’m so glad they don’t think it’s anything to worry about! Fingers crossed your numbers stay under 1,000,000.

    Due date/W+D: May 3rd, 15w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): orange

Any appointments? Questions?: nothing until Dec 7th!

    Rants/Raves?:

How are you feeling?: I felt nauseous this morning but other than that it’s been gone lately and I’ve been feeling pretty normal, which is nice. Actually got up and worked out this morning!

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? Sleeping? Does that count? I loveee sleeping in (until like 8 haha) nothing too crazy or I feel like I’ve wasted my whole day. Otherwise... I like to be awake and have breakfast going well before ds wakes up so I don’t feel rushed once he’s up.
  • Due 5/3
Appt next week which I’m looking forward too.

I've been so anxious this pregnancy. I am not feeling pregnant and I don’t appear to be getting bigger and it’s making me so nervous. I don’t remember being nervous like this with my son. I wish my appt was tomorrow just to get peace of mind.

    I feel ok. Just tired.

Before I had a kid, my favorite thing was waking up and not having to get up and go anywhere, do anything. I could flip the tv on and just relax. Of course i don’t get to do that anymore 😂
  • Due date/W+D: May 4, 15w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): pack of crayons

Any appointments? Questions?: I have an appointment tomorrow, which will include a loooong overdue pap. NOT looking forward to it. But I am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again.

Rants/Raves?: Since my symptoms have been subsiding, I'm feeling a little anxious about things. It's weird because I have never been anxious about pregnancy and loss before, but this is my third and with so many people experiencing miscarriage, I feel like my string of good luck must end. Which is irrational, I know. The fact that baby was so still and co-operative at my NT scan a few weeks ago doesn't help. Sure, he had a good heartbeat and all was well, but I can't help but worry. Hearing the heartbeat tomorrow will definitely help reassure.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good actually. I stopped taking diclectin a couple weeks ago and have been more or less fine. Over the weekend, things got kind of rough again, so I started taking the morning and evening dose again and I have been golden since.

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? I'm with @aels12 - sleeping in until 8:30 or so, then up for eggs and toast in the sitting room with the fire going, feet up, chatting with DH and scrolling FB and instagram. That's how we do things most Saturdays (we give the girls screen time so we can enjoy a half hour or so in peace) and it's delightful.

    DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe
    DD2: October 2016
    DC3: coming May 2019

  • That's great news @brie_and_almonds. You'll have to keep us updated!

    Due date/W+D: may 7th, 15 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): Orange/crayon box

Any appointments? Questions?: 16 week appointment on Friday as well as an ultrasound appointment where we will find out the sex! I was going to go by myself and surprise my hubby that night, but now I'm second guessing myself. I'll probably just surprise him with the appointment in the morning so we can experience finding out the sex at the same time.

Rants/Raves?: Not loving waking up in the middle of the night to pee. Wasn't ready for this until the 3rd trimester. It wouldn't be so bad if I could fall back asleep as soon as I lay back down, but I'm usually up tossing and turning for an hour or two.

How are you feeling?: pretty good. I think my headaches are coming from sinus issues. A hot compress on my eyes/nose is seeming to help, so I'm thankful for that!

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? Catching up on social media/news on my phone usually eases me into reality.
  • Due date/W+D: May 4th, 15w+4

Baby is the size of a(n): An orange or a yellow canary

Any appointments? Questions?: No appts until next week.

Rants/Raves?: Minor rant - my son had pink eye late last week and now I do too. Ugh.  He had it this time last year as well, but I was able to avoid it.  Not this time. So freaking gross.

How are you feeling?: Good. Tired but falling asleep is impossible.  I'm glad I am starting to feel the surge of energy everyone raves about during the second trimester.

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? I love waking up to my son laughing and playing in his crib.  The sounds over the monitor just make my heart so happy.  My husband or I go and get him and we share an episode of Curious George on Hulu and cuddle in mommy and daddy's bed together before we all have breakfast.  This is how we usually start our mornings on the weekends and the random weekday during holiday breaks.  I live for these mornings.
  • @brie_and_almonds good to hear the specialists aren't overly concerned at the moment with the elevated platelets.  I know you are still worried, but this has to be a bit of relief for the time being until you have more tests run.

@k2k2tog I get that nervousness.  I wasn't a fan of this time period before with my last pregnancy either.  Until I start feeling kicks regularly, I am very in my head about the pregnancy as symptoms start to subside from the first trimester.  I am looking forward to my appt next week to hear the heartbeat again and have some reassurance that all is progressing as normal.

@megstevens92 my two cents...my husband loves going to the U/S to see the baby and he would be super annoyed with me if I first, scheduled and went to one without him and second, found out the baby was a boy or girl before he did.  We're team green this time around, but if we weren't we'd totally be finding out in the same moment either through a gender reveal or at the U/S.
  • Due date/W+D: 5/1 16 weeks today

Baby is the size of a(n): avacado

Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment tomorrow for my first cervicsl length and 16 wk visit. Also start progesterone injections tomorrrow.

Rants/Raves?: today is my bday and I feel a load of self pity lol. I’m being a big brat but it’s been nothing special and I’m irritated. I’ve been running around at work all day and won’t even be home until 8:30 due to dance for DD and b-ball practice for DS. To top it off DD got in trouble at school today causing me to receive a call from the principal. Annoyed!

How are you feeling?:  See above lol

GTKY:  What is your favorite way to start your day? Sleeping in!!!
