I have no desire to set up a pretty nursery. An organized and functional one, sure. In general I like crafting and decorating, but I don't see the point in painting and decorating a nursery when in a few years the kid will probably want to change the decor anyway. Right now this kid's future room is white with one bright pink accent wall. If I have a boy, he can live with that pink wall until he's old enough to complain about it (or like it, for that matter). I'll redecorate the nursery if and when the kid asks me to. Until then, I'm gonna keep redecorating my own room
@jessier19 We kept neutral colors and just put up a decal that could be taken off, and then we had some accessories, sheets, etc that helped make a fun theme. But we pretty much left the grey paint for DD. DS new room has horrible paint and patches since we just moved in, so we will paint, but again, neutral and adding fun decals etc.

@jessier19 - that’s precisely why when we moved into our house, we painted both guest rooms a neutral grey color and worked any “decor” (aka crib sheets and some wall art) around it. It was so much easier to transition the kids rooms from nurseries to “big kid rooms” that way.
@madreofdragons - same. We make a batch a week. I pinned some holiday fun ones for the kiddos to do as we get closer to XMas.
The nursery is blue, I'm having a girl. (No we aren't repainting, we painted it that color over a year ago - to the various friends and family who have asked)
I also don’t decorate my nursery. I have the basics and its functional.
I want to do elf on the shelf this yesr for DD! If I’m not in hospital I’m going to. It looks so fun!
@thechickendance - DD’s room is a geeenish/blue and we heard the same thing - you’ll have to paint if it’s a girl! (Nope.) It’s the only room we didn’t paint when we moved in bc I was done painting and it would need many coats to cover. We just did some coral accents and I looove it. This baby is getting a tan room and I’ll just do accents again.
I never have a good UO. I’m eating Halloween candy, so maybe mine is just that I like trash candy more than chocolate stuff. Like Laffy Taffy, Gobstoppers, skittles, etc. YUM.
@BourbonBiscuits the only soup I am ok with is panera broc/cheddar and I can do Chicken Noodle at like a deli where it is straight noodles and a little broth. Otherwise, no thank you!! It hits winter and everyone is all- yay soup and crockpot soup and I am over here all baked potato anyone?

I love soup. All kinds. I could live on soup all winter. Or even in the summer. I’m going home to have tan tan men (my favorite kind of ramen).
Pineapple on pizza - I can take it or leave it, but ham is disgusting so no Hawaiian. And no fish on pizza - I’m Scandinavian and love fish (even some of the more bizarre preparations) but no fish belongs on a pizza.
All of my kids will have had the the same exact nursery. We’ve literally changed nothing. I give no fucks.
We have two elves on the shelf (a boy and girl). They go up like decorations and do not move. I don’t have fucking time for that it pisses off my MIL and mom who got them for us but I give no fucks.
I wouldnt say I hate soup, I don’t mind it. I just have to be in the right mood for it and its not that often. milk chocolate is better.
I hate pepper. If ground up pepper is in something, fine, but it has to be pretty much powder. I wont put it on anything. Pepper from a pepper mill is gross. I bite into one of those bad boys i wont eat the rest of the meal. Horrible.
On average, dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate.
Years before we even thought of having a kid, DH's grandparents got us a Mensch on a Bench. I really hope they have forgotten about its existence because I have no interest in that or Elf on a Shelf.
Amen to this! White chocolate macadamia nut cookies make me unreasonably angry. I eat milk chocolate all the time, but I'm a bit of a snob about what kind. I just love how it melts. Now I'm hungry for some early morning chocolate...
I like all chocolate-white, milk, dark. But it also depends on what brand (not Hershey’s) and what accompaniments they have (milk chocolate with caramel, dark chocolate with almonds, white chocolate with macadamias).
I used to be a dark chocolate snob, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself preferring milk chocolate more often. I’m still kind of a snob about it though.
I like soup. All kinds. I eat pineapple on pizza. I like milk and dark chocolate equally as long as they are not the cheap stuff. I really just like good quality food of all kinds.
My UO is that I don't like throw pillows. Why are there aisles in stores completely dedicated to throw pillows? Who has enough storage to buy pillows for every season? And who buys the sequined ones? If you can't lay on it why have it?
@wifemomme - I don't get it either. We have a few on our couch that are the same year round. I don't get extra pillows on the bed either. I have the pillow I sleep on and the one with the sham goes under that. Who needs more pillows than that on their bed? I do also have a king sized pillow, but that's for my legs while pregnant.

@okayestmom12 I think Elf on a Shelf is so cute! We plan on getting one next year. Do you have one for each kid or just one for the family?
