1. 21w4d 2. Physically: still sick, back pain Mentally: pretty well. Feeling lo move everyday. Besides that, just kind of in the air. Have fetal echo next Tuesday along with my echo and appt with my cardiologist. Hopefully at this appt we'll figure out safest way for me to deliver for me and the baby. Also, my results for the as said something about placenta lakes and a heterogeneous placenta. I went down the google black hole and it said something about the placenta not detaching from the uterus, which happened during my last delivery. It brought back memories of not being able to spend time with my son, because they had to take me to get my placenta out. It just makes me concerned for the hopes I have for this delivery. 3. On Tuesday. 4. Rants/Raves/Questions: see number 2. Anyone else have placenta lakes? 5. GTKY: move halfway across the country from friends and family with no job, my wife and dogs. I went fine, but after a year, we moved again to be closer to family.
2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Really nervous about this AS (See #3). I think I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop and something to go wrong.
3. Any appointment updates? AS in about 2 hours!
4. Rants/raves/questions? Is it necessary to shave my legs before my AS? Lol. I don’t see any reason I would need to, but I’m paranoid not to. Basically, I feeling lazy... 😆
5. GTKY- whats the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Did my student teaching in a foreign country. I lived in Italy for about 3 months while I student taught.
@purpleteacher82 you usually leave your pants on as its abdominal us. I say usually, because they couldn't see my cervix very well and did a transvaginal for that part. Good luck at your as!
2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Physically I feel OK, just tired. Mentally, bleh (see appointment update)
3. Any appointment updates? I had my follow up / ~24 week appointment yesterday to check to make sure my placenta moved up and off of my cervix. It didn't. So now I am on modified bed rest and benched from anymore physical activity outside of the realm of going to work and moving around the house as needed. I was so very determined to work out until the end and try for a VBAC and unfortunately that's not in the cards for me. I feel yucky.
4. Rants/raves/questions? Rant and rave: I interview for a position at my company tomorrow that I really want! Now, I have to prepare because I have had zero time and I am sooooo tired right now.
5. GTKY- whats the craziest thing you’ve ever done? There are probably too many to pick from that fall under the "stupid" category rather than "crazy", but I'll pick a more normal one. I accepted a job in CA fresh out of college and had never even really been there except for my interview, moved out there as soon as I got back from a study abroad completing my degrees and didn't know a soul, and started my life! (I didn't stay. I am a Midwest girl and so-Cal is NOT my cup of tea)
@BuckeyeNut05 I'm so sorry to hear about your stubborn placenta. Is there still hope that it could move? My fingers are crossed! @purpleteacher82 I hope your scan went well! @Kenneylynn3 I haven't heard of placenta lakes - sorry! Wish I could be more help. I hope your echo(es) next Tuesday go well! Good luck!
1. How many weeks are you? 23w 3d
2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Physically I'm ok. A few aches and pains, and my bladder has been bugging me - I'm feeling like I need to pee all the time, which is annoying. Mentally, pretty good!
3. Any appointment updates? Had an obgyn appointment yesterday where she confirmed that all looked well on my AS, and that baby is still a girl. Baby was measuring small - 19 percentile - so I'll go in for another us between 32-34 weeks just to check and see if she's growing on track. My dr seemed to think it wasn't much to worry about (yet) so I'm not going to worry at this point! DD was 8 1/2 lbs so I wouldn't mind if this one turned out to be a bit smaller, say 7 to 7 1/2 lbs
4. Rants/raves/questions? Rant: despite doing my maternal serum screening bloodwork a month and a half ago, I still haven't gotten the results from the hospital. My dr informed me that the fact all looked well at the AS means I shouldn't be worried, but I'd still like to see those results.
5. GTKY- whats the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Oh, wow, that's a tough one. Move across the country (like, ALL the way to the opposite side) for work and love? I miss home and my family and wish they could see my DD more, but oh well. Maybe someday - if it weren't so expensive to live on the west coast!
2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Pretty good physically, some pelvic pain and I’m always hungry. Mentally doing well overall, have bad moments where I get into my head, but feeling movement is helping a ton.
3. Any appointment updates? Nothing until Thanksgiving.
4. Rants/raves/questions? Is it the weekend yet...?
5. GTKY- whats the craziest thing you’ve ever done? So, apparently I’m a little lame... the craziest thing I can think of is sneaking into the football stadium back in college.
Thanks ladies! The AS did go well and I feel much better now. I found out I have anterior placenta which is probably why I haven’t felt a ton of movement yet and why it took so long to find his HB with the Doppler here at home. We also discovered he has a 2 vessel umbilical cord as opposed to a typical 3 vessel cord. It will require some closer monitoring of his growth later on, but the dr. didn’t seem too concerned. Overall, I feel relieved that he’a healthy and growing in there!
2. I'm tired and feeling very pregnant, but hanging in there. Mentally I've started to really nest I think, MH both have some time off coming up and we are full swing into prepping for the nursery.
3. I couldn't not get my fetal echo scheduled until the last week of November. I'm hoping that means they aren't that concerned.
4. One of the companies I contract for laid me off on short notice (24 hours). I wasn't sure I was going back after the babies come, but was relying on that income for January and February, so I'm a little stressed.
5. Probably going to Mexico (Tiajuana) at 17 with no adult supervision.

PCOS, plus some medical issues that make me high risk.
I'm very uncomfortable, thank you for asking! Hip pain and rib pain are the worst right now. It feels like my organs around my rib cage, under my chest, are on fire. This doesn't go away at night anymore and is starting to be a present ache all day long. I just watched some YouTube videos about using baby wraps and slings to make a pregnancy support belt. I tried it yesterday and it works. I am about the size of this lady on youtube who was 37 weeks and talking about her hospital bag. I am all out in front. My sweet Parents As Teachers coordinator told me it's all belly, that she can't see it showing up anywhere else, not even my face. She's the greatest! Why can't I get more comments like that?!
3. Any appointment updates?
My fetal echo on Tuesday was a fail because baby was at the bottom of my large amniotic swimming pool and they couldn't get clear pictures of the tiny veins they were trying to see. I get to go back in 4 weeks to try again. You guys, if any of you are praying people, I could use some. I NEED my fluid to stabilize. The MFM was talking about prolapses, PROM, needing to deliver at 37 weeks, needing to go to the big University hospital30 min away to deliver because of their NICU... all things that I would rather avoid. He said we'll be making the decision around 32 weeks. Ugh.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
I see my regular OB today and will be telling her all of this. I also suspect I have a UTI again so I'll be looking for results on that and hopefully some relief. I could use less pain in my life right now. I've been doing lots of meditation and prayer novenas asking for patience in bearing this burden. It's all I feel I can do to avoid the pit of despair.
5. GTKY- whats the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
The only thing that comes to mind at this time is getting pregnant for a 4th time! Ha Ha!
@Lbloom you’re having a tough go at it recently, hope little one corporates at the next appointment and your fluid level stabilizes. You’ll be in my prayers. Hopefully the rest of this pregnancy will be smooth sailing!
Thinking about all of you wonderful ladies and hoping things continue to go smoothly. @buckeyenut05 I realize it's not going the way you had hoped and I am sorry for that, but I'm glad it sounds like baby is fine otherwise?
1. How many weeks are you? 22 weeks 4 days
2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? I was sore earlier this week, but today I feel okay. Mentally I am all over the place. I don't sleep well because this little girl is quiet at night and doesn't kick a ton, which I realize I should probably be grateful for but my PGAL brain hates it. My husband told me this morning to leave her alone that she's on a good sleep schedule and not to mess it up lol.
3. Any appointment updates? I had just a quick check on Monday. My OB checked my cervix just to make sure it was okay because this previous weekend I got really bad cramps from too much activity. All was good, and I just need to let myself relax a little more.
4. Rants/raves/questions? My rant is not about pregnancy, but about my son's resource teacher. She scheduled a meeting and didn't ask what time or day would work for us, just picked a day and time and said this is when it is. It rubbed me the wrong way. The day she picked doesn't work for me because I have doctor appointments already scheduled that day.
5. GTKY- whats the craziest thing you’ve ever done? I don't think I've done anything too crazy. I am not the adventurous type. I have made some pretty stupid choices that thankfully didn't get me killed. Those experiences made me a little more grounded and not so willing to put myself out there.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
Thanks @Kenneylynn3 I hope you have had some relief for your nausea and a successful fetal echo next week with good results! Placenta lakes are something I haven't heard of before, so you and the other ladies here are in my thoughts and prayers, too!
@3rdtime_charmed sorry about your contract. What terrible timing. @bdesterhouse thanks. Hands down I am thankful that the baby is healthy and this is the worst thing that's happened so far. I'll definitely take it. Fingers crossed it stays that way. And um, yeah. The teacher thing would bring out something very passive aggressive in me. That's so rude!
I texted her back, which what teacher does that without permission? I know there are several teachers in here, please correct me if I’m wrong but it bothered me. Texting is so impersonal and shouldnt be done unless it’s to follow up on a phone conversation or to confirm information that was discussed on the phone. Please correct me if I’m wrong? We got it rescheduled thankfully.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
@bdesterhouse I don’t text, but send messages through a website/app called SeeSaw. I rarely ever call a parent unless it’s serious. I find I get better/more timely responses this way. It’s also just a more comfortable way for me to communicate. It is also more convenient - both myself and parents can respond as we have time rather than playing phone tag. I have so much communication going on a daily basis with parents that I would spend all of my time on the phone if I always called. I’m sure other teachers are different, but digital communication is better for me. I still don’t agree with her scheduling a meeting without your input though!
So so I finally convinced myself to start going through all of DS baby clothes and all the baby girl clothes my sister gave us and now I’m sitting in the nursery scared. I’m still so scared something is going to go wrong. I worried with DS, but never like this.
@3rdtime_charmed & @Kenneylynn3 thank you both, I honestly appreciate just being able to share these fears with you ladies and not feel silly. She was kicking earlier and it helped a lot.
1. How many weeks are you? 23! 2. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? A bit slower. I'm struggling to get back to sleep when I wake up to go pee in the middle of the night. Next appointment is on my angels birthday...it will be so bitter sweet to see our son on her birthday.
