Any appointments? Questions?: Not for a couple of weeks.
Rants/Raves?: none right now.
How are you feeling?: Right now nausea is kicking my butt. I’ve spend most of my free time the past couple of weeks just lying down feeling awful. Luckily Saturday wasn’t too bad, at least, because I was actually able to get out and have some fun.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? We don’t have kids, so we don’t have big plans. We won’t be dressing up, but we’re going to be having some friends over to hang out and we’ll hand out candy.
Any appointments? Questions?: Nothing until Nov. 13th. I just really want to see a heartbeat.
Rants/Raves?: I keep wearing my Ava bracelet to bed and my temp has started decreasing. It's still high, but not as high, and I'm freaking out a little. I think I need to step away from Ava. Bummer cause I wanted the data.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Tired and some queasiness on and off. And crazy heartburn.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? DS wants to be Batman, so of course his little sister has to be Robin. I found a Robin in costume with a red tutu, so they should be pretty cute together.
Any appointments? Questions?: Hi guys, I’m new to the group and this is my 1st pregnancy. I went to the Dr. over concerns about pain and had an ultrasound that day at 4w2d that showed thickening of my uterus and a small area that looked like the beginnings of everything starting to form. Dr said everything looked as she would have expected and no obvious ectopic but sent me for hcg to be safe. 1st hcg at 4w2d was 662 and my second at 4w4d was 2,172 which she said was great. Next appointment with ultrasound is scheduled for 11/15 and I’ll be 7w5d and I can hardly wait!!!
Rants/Raves?: I did not know to expect to feel so much happening this soon 😳
How are you feeling?: Extremely bloated, random cramps/pains, breasts hurt, and back hurts.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? 10 year old step daughter is dressing up with a scary ass mask and trick or treating with her 2 best girlfriends. We will just walk around with them and steal all her good candy 😋🤣
Due date/W+D: June 26? allegedly. Who TF knows...I've known I'm KU for a week and have had three different dates now. But if that's the day, I'm 5w5d.
Baby is the size of a(n): appleseed?
Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment with a counselor tomorrow. Appointment with my FP Friday, which was when I was thinking I'd be confirming everything, but this past weekend took care of that! So now just getting some referrals for an OB, and talking life. (I love my FP, and am kinda bummed she can't deliver Baby.)
Rants/Raves?: Rant: why are there not straight answers for things? Like citrus is good for baby, but if you overdo it you'll hurt your kidneys. Ginger is great for nausea! unless you have more than a gram (what does that even mean? in what form? gummies, dropping some shaved bits in my water, crystallized, tea...?), in which case you up your risk of miscarriage. Raw honey is totally safe! but it's unpasteurized and probably has a million toxic organisms. Herbal tea is a good substitute for coffee, but only some teas, and even then too much might make you sick. Eat a healthy diet, but recognize that you might only be able to eat saltines and drink ginger ale for the next four weeks. It's exhausting enough growing a human...but the constant Googling, only to be presented with very few straight answers, is driving me batty.
Rave: We bought a car today! I don't think a kid AND a carseat would fit in my old one (but it maybe wouldn't be so legal to choose one or the other...), and then the fuel line leaked, sooooo it was time. I'm still getting used to this new one, but my office is out on a crappy semi-country road, and the drive from the dealership to the office was a million times smoother than it was in the old car, which was sooooo nice since it didn't make me have to pee after running over a pothole every 40 feet. Rave #2: The basketball season starts this week! Which means that I have some built-in social time every week until spring with the other coaches' wives, which is a LIFESAVER...DH gets super busy leading up to/during the season but it's always so hit-or-miss to hang out with the gals (they all have kids) so having already-planned time together for all the games is a huge blessing.
How are you feeling?: Sad. Anxious. Apathetic. Tired. Grossed out at the thought of grocery shopping and making dinner, which makes me sadder because I was the white whale who looooooved grocery shopping and meal prepping. Trying to focus on the things that bring joy. Ready to call it a day and start over tomorrow.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? We dressed up last year as Luke and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls, but then had 9 trick-or-treaters, half of whom were on the downside of puberty. If your voice has changed, you're too old to trick-or-treat! So this year we're scrapping the costumes and just going to a friend's house for dinner, a fire, and watching Hocus Pocus, which I'm sooooo excited for since I think Mary Sanderson is my spirit animal and I haven't watched it nearly enough this year.
Any appointments? Questions?: Next Monday is our first u/s. I feel like we have been waiting forever! I’m pretty much counting through each minute until we get there.
Rants/Raves?: it’s a little of both. Our sitter is closed tomorrow so I’m taking the day off. I’m excited to sleep in. But my kiddo might have hand, foot, and mouth (another kid had it at daycare and she has a fever now). So bonus that I don’t have to take an extra day to see the doctor since I’m off already but annoying that they day off has to actually be a sick day.
How are you feeling?: Ok. The headaches and the nausea come and go. I have had some crazy vivid dreams these last few days. I’m hopeful all the symptoms are good signs but man is it hard to teach through suddenly feeling like you will vomit.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? If she’s not contagious, we are going to trick or treat in the neighborhood then have a bonfire and hand out candy. I’m making chili and watching my kiddo get a sugar high in her Elsa costume. Should be a good time. 🎃
@ruby696 I kept my temp with my first successful pregnancy religiously and while I thought it was bringing comfort, it really was just a way to start every day with anxiety. I haven’t this time and it’s been freeing. I hope you can find a happy medium. ❤️
@borgahurst Did you find that your temp decreased a little as your body adjusted? I don't want to give myself unnecessary anxiety, but it's just such a hard habit to break.
Also, the damn bracelet was not cheap, so I feel like I should keep using it.
Any appointments? Questions?: I see my RE on Wednesday for another u/s—heartbeat this time!—and more bloodwork.
Rants/Raves?: I feel like a hobbit—I’m so hungry and there’s no inbetween for full and famished. I ate breakfast at home, and on the way to work I was starving again so I had to buy second breakfast. And then of course I had elevenses. But then the nausea set in so it was by sheer force of will that I managed to eat my lunch.
How are you feeling?: Crampy, and weird nausea—like the I’m hungry but nothing sounds appetizing kind of nausea. Anyone else have this? I’m glad it’s not the I’m going to vomit right now nausea at least.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans?
I went to a maritime party yesterday as ship signal flags. But we have no kids, so no actually Halloween dress up.
@ki1244 OMG your rant is spot-on. I plan to ask my OB if there’s some kind of definitive list about these things. For now I’m avoiding things like ginger and herbal teas. Supposedly green tea is fine, but I’ve really limited my tea intake in general. Nothing to be done about the saltines and ginger ale, if it comes to that, I suppose!
@Knottie65... Welcome! Glad everything looks good after your scare. Phew! BTW you can change your username on The Knot to make it easier to tag you. :-)
@kjr9519 sorry the nausea is kicking your butt! I’m glad you got a bit of a reprieve at least!
@ruby696 I don’t have an Ava, but I know that the continued temping would just stress me out—so I second the suggestion to stop using it. Do you have a Fitbit or something that can collect the data you want?
Any appointments? Questions?: 1st prenatal appointment Friday!
Rants/Raves?: Why can’t I sleep!!!
How are you feeling?: tired, bloated, nauseous, nd have some muscle twinges when I cough and sneeze. Weird.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? My 2 yr old will be Rapunzel 💕. For work, our crew is 101 Dalmatians and I have the honor of being Anita.
@ruby696 I tried looking back through the data - it would flucuate from day to day, sometimes a whole degree. I totally get that you spent the money on it. And I get the need to keep temping (obviously). You do what you need to do, girl!
That’s so exciting that you get to see a heartbeat in a couple of days 🤗. I tried to change it on the knot a few days ago and it’s still showing up as knottie 😩 any idea why it hasn’t worked?
@Bababatty yep, that's the nausea-ish stuff I get off and on. Like I struggle to make myself start eating lunch/snacks, but once I actually get a bite of something it actually tastes ok. It's just getting over the hump of taking a bite because it sounds gross. (I never thought I would say this about myself.) Your hobbit analysis just had me rolling, though!
Any appointments? Questions?: Appointment for OB intake is Nov. 8th, then first appointment with my doc is Nov. 26th.
Rants/Raves?: Rant: DS is going through some really tough phases, the NO to everything phase and some awful tantrums. It's been really hard around here. Rave: My husband normally works evenings and he has off tomorrow night! Yay!
How are you feeling?: Feeling good. Always assessing to see if any MS is showing up. I've mostly just been really tired.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? We have a frog costume for DS. He likes jumping so I figured why not? Me and H are not planning on dressing up.
@ruby696 my temp and heart rate fluctuate all over the place as well. I don't take too much stock in it so early but I hear it's great/more accurate further along. Right now, I mostly use it to track my sleep/REM because my schedule fluctuates so much, it's nice to see the correlations with stress, etc. Have you noticed the temp changes based on the covers on your bed, etc?
@autumnlvs Our room is usually the same temp, so that's not it, however, I did wear it higher up on my wrist last night and my rhr went up an entire number. Temp and breathing rate went up to. Could be a coincidence or maybe it takes better readings further from my wrist? I'll see what happens tonight!
Any appointments? Questions?: Had an appointment today. Go back for bloodwork on Thursday and then an ultrasound on Nov 14th.
Rants/Raves?: Had a big scare with some period-like bleeding on Sunday that has continued through today. I assumed I was having a miscarriage and have been dealing with the mental and emotional side effects of that while on a work trip.... anyways, I finally got back in town today and was able to see the OB about it and when we did the ultrasound there was actually a sack in there. I've miscarried before and don't remember seeing that so this was big news for today. His exact words were "It's not nothing" and they are doing Hcg levels today and Thursday to look for doubling. I don't have kids yet so all of this jargin and medical stuff is new to me. I'm just so relieved that I haven't lost this baby as of today's appointment although I have no idea what's causing the bleeding- I totally forgot to ask the doc about it because I was so shocked about seeing something up in my uterus!
How are you feeling?: All over the place, but happier and more relieved than I was this morning. But still nervous and anxious... You know, all the normal pregnant things.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? Not dressing up because I'm going to see HAMILTON tomorrow night!!!!
Any appointments? Questions?: 1st appointment scheduled for 8 weeks -- November 14th
Rants/Raves?: Just super nervous, I've been doing a pretty good job of not getting my hopes up but now that symptoms are kicking in it's hard not to get excited.
How are you feeling?: Nausea is in full force. I vomited for the first time this morning. Right on schedule I suppose since I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? Going to my bosses house. Not planning on dressing up. I'm not looking forward to explain why I'm not having a glass of wine lol
Baby is the size of a(n): Sweet pea, as of tomorrow!
Any appointments? Questions?: I have to go in for blood work to “confirm” pregnancy this week, first appointment with u/s is Nov.29th!
Rants/Raves?: Rant! Because of the way my vacation falls, and thanksgiving fall, the OB pushed my first appointment out to the 10 week mark. AND I feel like certain family members might already be catching hints, even though we (DH + I) have been very careful/tight lipped. I’d rather not tell people until I’ve SEEN for myself that everything is okay, but the questioning family members are the nosy ones who might cause me to spill the beans early, which I feel is unfair.
How are you feeling?: I’ve got ALL the symptoms. My boobs are the worst! Even putting lotion on is painful. Just started to feel slight nausea yesterday and it has continued into today. Nothing some pretzels can’t handle.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? We aren’t, we work in the car business and the last day of the month is huge, so we normally work late and don’t do anything for Halloween. We might leave a bowl of candy out for the neighbor kids, but since we are new to the neighborhood I’m not even sure there’s kids that are of trick or treating age.
Any appointments? Questions?: my next appointment is my ultrasound on November 16th
Rants/Raves?: I love fall weather! Now is the time when I start freezing inside my house because in my family, if you’re cold then you put on another layer! My SO doesn’t follow the same rules so we are always adjusting the thermostat once the other leaves the house, lol.
How are you feeling?:
So tired. So nauseous. I had the stomach flu over the weekend and I was miserable. So comparatively I am feeling much better lol.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans?
I will do what I do every day after work; collapse on the couch and just try to stay awake until a reasonable time.
Any appointments? Questions?: U/s to see heartbeat next Tuesday, it's going to be a long wait. Need to get the referral to my OB, requisition for NIPT testing....long list of questions.
Rants/Raves?: I feel like crap, but was thrilled to see a yolk sac yesterday, so I'll take it!
How are you feeling?: Like crap Also nervous and anxious.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? Kids are dinosaurs. No plans other than handing out candy...I'm not a fan of Halloween.
Due date/W+D: 07/02 but delivering end of June...5+2
Baby is the size of a(n): lavander bud
Any appointments? Questions?: First US scheduled for November 29th. I'll be 9+2.
Rants/Raves?: Not today:)
How are you feeling?: Breasts are KILLING me and the nausea decided to kick in today. Also heartburn:/
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? DD was Super Girl. I didn't dress up but since I was wearing black DD told me I was Darth Vader's company.
Heeeey it’s nice to finally be allowed to join in😺
Due date/W+D: June 29th 5w6d
Baby is the size of a(n): Appleseed....weighs as much as a grain of rice 🙀😺
Any appointments? Questions?: birth ctr tour tomorrow. I’m really excited about that. OB orientation Nov 21st, not sure if I’ll have my 1st US then.
Rants/Raves?: I’m hot all the time (rant). For some reason I’m picking up sweet smells wherever we go, so that’s pretty cool (rave).
How are you feeling?: Crampy, and sore and tender breasts (esp the nips). Did I mention I’m hot all the time? A little “morning sickness” which usually happens when it wants throughout the day. I’m a little nervous bc I saw a little blood on tissue this morning but I’m not freaking out anymore after speaking with my nurse.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? We did absolutely nada for Halloween mostly bc we weren’t ready (in my Kevin Hart voice) in time. I did cook a delicious dinner though.
Any appointments? Questions?: 11/19 for first prenatal check and dating u/s
Rants/Raves?: I don't know how I am going to control my anxiety while I wait for my check up!!!
How are you feeling?: my morning sickness is rough, so eating has been a challenge
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? Late to this party...but my daughter was a lilac pixie and I was Cleopatra. We just went to my MIL house to hang out.
Any appointments? Questions?: First midwife appointment later in the month
Rants/Raves?: I don't understand how I managed to forget everything about being pregnant in just a few short years.
How are you feeling?: Just miserable. Currently awake at nearly midnight because I'm so bloated and my boobs are so sore that I can't sleep. And I'm hungry? But also nauseated? Ugh.
I totally could have written most of this too!! Don't remember a damn thing about pregnancy or newborns.... And I have all the exact same symptoms. So hungry yet so nauseous!
Due: june 28, 2019 Baby: size of a pea First appointment: at the end of November Rants: already feeling the nausea. Even the thought of certain foods doesn't sound tooo appetizing. The second I sit as a passenger in the car I feel nauseous...super weird. Also very exhausted! I can barely keep my eyes open around 1-4 at work...and the second I get into bed I pass out.
Any appointments? Questions?: Thursday 11/8 I have my first appointment with OB for blood work etc. on 11/13 we have our first ultrasound. I can’t wait to see the little bean!
Rants/Raves?: Today was the first time my jeans felt uncomfortable when I sat down but I was strangely excited haha
How are you feeling?: EXHAUSTED! I feel like I need to nap everyday and I still want to go to bed by 9. I’ve had more morning sickness this time than with my first 2. I keep thinking it must feel tougher this time around since I’m so much older (my other 2 are 10 and 14 years old). But other than that, anxious that everything is ok, and so excited about this baby!!
Re: Group 4 Check-In (June 23-30) W/O 10/29
Baby is the size of a(n): Sweet Pea

Baby is the size of a(n): appleseed

Any appointments? Questions?: I have to go in for blood work to “confirm” pregnancy this week, first appointment with u/s is Nov.29th!

Baby is the size of a(n): a lentil

How are you feeling?: Like crap
Also nervous and anxious.
GTKY: What are you/SO/kids dressing up as for Halloween and what are your plans? Kids are dinosaurs. No plans other than handing out candy...I'm not a fan of Halloween.

Ugh.
Baby: size of a pea
First appointment: at the end of November
Rants: already feeling the nausea. Even the thought of certain foods doesn't sound tooo appetizing. The second I sit as a passenger in the car I feel nauseous...super weird. Also very exhausted! I can barely keep my eyes open around 1-4 at work...and the second I get into bed I pass out.
Nice to meet you ladies!
Baby is the size of a(n): Altoid
