How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?
I'm feeling much better this week. I'm actually really liking the Expectful meditation app. I feel less... rocky? Less like I'm going to start crying randomly. I've been considering the Circle and Bloom visualization program, but might wait until the beginning of the next cycle. We are also going on vacation at the end of the week and I am really looking forward to it. At first I was a little annoyed because we will be staying with our friends and I'd feel awkward using OPK's in their tiny bathroom, but now I'm glad. One less thing to stress about. I can usually feel when I ovulate on Femara, so I should be fine.
Any testing coming up/any recent results? First appointment with an RE next Tuesday. I have a mountain of paperwork to fill out before then. I'm also really nervous. It makes things feel a little more serious and real.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? Posted this because I'm selfishly looking for recommendations for our flight and then long drive. I do love 99% Invisible. I'm an architecture/ urban planning nerd. It is "about all the thought that goes into the things we don’t think about — the unnoticed architecture and design that shape our world." I listened to an episode about airport design a while ago about how everything from the colors of the walls to the tile sizes on the floor help funnel people to where they are supposed to go. Really cool.
@kgg2241 that podcast sounds super interesting! I’m going to have to check it out. Good luck with your RE appt!

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? Finally got my first cycle following the latest loss in September. It kind of closes the door for me on that one. Really looking forward to my first fertility appt tomorrow.
Any testing coming up/any recent results? First fertility appt tomorrow. Hoping to be scheduled for all the testing.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? I’m definitely behind the times with podcasts and only recently discovered them. Currently I listen to Whine down with Jana Kramer. I’m an OTH fan/nerd so I love listening to her. It’s super down to earth and covers all sorts of topics. On the flip side I love listening to Dave Ramsey. DH and I started working his plan to get our debt paid off and I find it really inspiring to hear people do their debt free screams. I usually end up tearing up a little lol.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? I'm fairly certain AF will be making her appearance soon. Not looking forward to it as I've been having pretty bad cramps and headaches the last few days. Dr. apt went well last Friday and we have been cleared to TTC again. I did come home last night to my kitchen remodel finished by DH AND the dishes done and the bed made. I almost fainted. It was wonderful. Especially after getting a speeding ticket yesterday on the way to daycare. -_-
Any testing coming up/any recent results? No.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? I really like Birthfit - it's a birthing/crossfit crossover.
@kbrown2385 Good luck at your appointment! I hope it goes well and that you start down a path towards some answers and peace. Also, I think I would probably scream if I was debt-free too! It is also pretty inspiring to know other people our age who have NO DEBT-- I didn't think you could possibly buy a house without a loan, and then our friends did it and I was shocked but also envious of how much calmer they were about it than I felt we were when we bought.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? Things are actually mostly good in the TTC 'hood. Surgery is in 2 weeks and I will be happy to have that hurdle behind us. It does sort of feel weird to look ahead at the calendar, though, and think we could be trying again in Dec/Jan. Weird. Work has been unnecessarily stressful and everyone is on edge about what seems to be nothing, so of course I am taking off this weekend for a Girls' Weekend. Lots of Cardboardeaux, sweatpants, and discount Halloween candy in my immediate future!
Any testing coming up/any recent results? Nope.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? I really love "Terrible, Thanks for Asking" although sometimes it gets me a little too sad. But overall, it's a great reminder that everyone goes through something crappy, and that there aren't always tidy perfect endings but things can still be okay. I also love "Hidden Brain" and "Invisibilia" from NPR and have just started subscribing to "Cafeteria Christian" but haven't listened to any episodes. One of the writers/hosts is also the host of "Terrible..."
@crossfitbabybump I love when DH does stuff like that unexpectedly. I'm glad your appointment went well. Good luck starting TTC again. I'm sure it is nice to feel like you are moving forward.
@minnek8 I'm glad things are good. Your weekend sounds awesome. Enjoy the time off and relax. I haven't listened to any of the podcasts you've recommended -- thanks for the list!
@crossfitbabybump Boo for AF but yay for a new trying cycle!
@kbrown2385 ooo yay! Keep us updated on how your appointment goes!
@kgg2241 I like Terrible, thanks for asking (TTFA), Dave Ramsey, YogaGirl's From the Heart and This American Life.
AFM - No real updates. I'm waiting for my doctor to call with MRI results to see what we do next.
@kgg2241 I'll have to check out the meditation apps. Will you be able to HIO at the friends' house? I love podcasts!
@kbrown2385 Let us know how the appt goes. I hope you are able to get some answers through testing. Unfortunately sometimes the answer is there is no answer. Make sure you ask how you can ask more questions.
@minnek8 Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. I hope it helps you to pass the time quickly until your surgery. I'm also a TTFA fan. I agree, I can't always listen to it because it does make me cry.
AFM We're just waiting for FET cycle. A year ago today we found out that I was losing my third pregnancy. I remember it so well because it was so close to Halloween. We went out and bought tons of candy, including full sized candy bars, to give to other peoples' kids, knowing we may never have one of our own.
Podcasts -- One thing I've realized about podcasts is there are two distinct styles - highly produced stories that are perfect capsules on a topic, and conversational podcasts that are more free flowing. I like both styles but some people may have a strong preference for highly produced.
Forever 35 - Mostly light and fun podcast about self-care. (Conversational)
Two Dope Queens - Comedy (there's some banter but a large part of the pod is comedy sets that are well curated and produced)
Matt & Doree's Eggcellent Adventure - IVF podcast. I started listening at a time when I didn't think we'd ever possibly need IVF. It definitely normalized the experience for me a lot. They do tend to promote other projects (then again if you had to do five rounds of IVF you'd probably want to sell more copies of your book too) but it's a staple and I listen every week. (Conversational)
My Favorite Murder - My current obsession and favorite. True crime, as told by two very funny ladies. Sounds weird, but is great. (Conversational but more planned)
Serial - Specifically I recommend the first season for anyone who hasn't listened - another true crime. I started the second season and didn't enjoy it. I think there's another season out now but I haven't listened to it at all yet. (Highly produced)
Radiolab - I have been listening for I think at least 10 years now. Some of the early episodes, like Sleep and Memory and Forgetting are some of the best done podcasts I've ever listened to. They take a seemingly simple topic and deep dive into it. They still put out great episodes but I've listened to the early ones multiple times. If you fancy yourself an arm chair scientist you will love it. (Highly produced).
Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc.
I've been around for awhile, but it's been hard to check in since my mc in March, and then especially after my chemical this month. I've had a blighted ovum when I first started ttc, and since then I've had a mmc at 12 weeks due to triploidy and a chemical this month. No idea if clomid had anything to do with the recent chemical??
Status: Wto
How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?
Meh. I really struggled with whether to start clomid again or wait. They say you're more fertile after a mc, so maybe I didn't need it?? What if it thins my lining?? Will it make me ovulate eggs that I shouldn't have naturally?? Sigh. Oh yeah, and I also broke my foot, so that's awesome too.
Any testing coming up/any recent results? Did a mc panel and nothing came up. So it's good but that means I have incredibly bad luck...
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? Dave Ramsey
@kbrown2385 Good Luck with Fertility doc.
@crossfitbabybump I’d have no idea how I’d react to that from DH LOLZ
@zamora_spin so many hugs my friend!!! Also I need to start serial. My murder mystery cast I’d Unsolved Murders but I’ve heard great things about serial

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?
Just struggling in general at the moment. My Facebook feed is full of new babies and I am so happy for my friends and family but so sad for myself. My partner is also struggling which is really hard, I'm not great at comforting as it all just makes me upset as well.
On the bright side we are trying again this cycle and I am investing in a little self care.
Any testing coming up/any recent results?
I have been referred to a recurrent loss clinic but before they will see me I had to get a test for pretty much everything and both my partner and I had karyotyping done. All the results have come back so hopefully will get an appointment soon. Also got the results on the karyotyping of our last miscarriage, which was normal but found out it was a little girl which was a bit devastating. Just one test was out of normal limits which was my FSH (11.2), had a chat to my GP who said I shouldn't worry to much and that it was an unreliable measure and that it will probably just prompt the specialist to do some extra testing. I was still a mess on the weekend regardless.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? Getting curious with Jonathan van ness, it's really interesting and really uplifting. I was pissing myself laughing the other day listening to an episode and I really cant ask for more.
@kindbytealikat a break is really nice sometimes just no examining every tiny thing that's happening in minutiae is a bit of a load off.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? Today is the last day of the dreaded October, which I’m grateful for! It’s Halloween, and I really want to go trick-or-treating, but I have no kids except my dogs, and not sure how people would feel if I started ringing doorbells with my 2 full-sized collies dressed up instead of kids. Would love to snitch a few pieces of candy from somewhere though. LOL.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? I’ve actually never listened to either, which must make me one of the only DC area peeps to never listen to them. I guess I just focus on either my audiobooks and/or music.
kgg2241 Ugh, I remember filling out that mountain of paperwork. Good luck!
projectalice The RPL panel showing nothing is ‘wrong’ is like a double-edged sword. On one hand it’s really good that you’re healthy, but on the other hand it’s like, so why do my babies keep dying? Super frustrating to be in the unexplained category. I’m sorry you’re going through it too.

@zamora_spin Luckily yes, we'll have our own room. Still might be kind of awkward. Thanks for all the podcast recs!
I think the spa sounds incredible. I would be all over that... but if you want to take your dogs you can do that too! I bet people would enjoy it.
And also, I DID take my 'kids' trick or treating. ::giggle::

@crossfitbabybump big props to you DH for getting sh*t done 👍🏼 I hope your appt went well.
@minnek8 your plans for girls’ weekend sound awesome! what kind of post op recovery are you expecting?
@projectalice I’m in the same boat as far as my RPL test results. It was a strange feeling to find nothing wrong and sort of wish they had.
@lokibear89 I’m with you- my Facebook feed... I’ve been avoiding it. Also, I’m part of a previous birth month group and sooo many have gotten pregnant and several have delivered since we started TTC again and while I’m thrilled, I’m also really stabby about it. It makes me feel like a bad person 😩
@dpjennifer I don’t even know what TED talks are so if you do you’re doing better than me, at least 😂

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? The provera worked, AF showed up yesterday so ive been dealing with that. I feel so in tune with my body (somewhat at least) since I felt myself get a fever and pain in my ovaries, plus a pretty outrageous mood swing. my boss expects way too much out of me and yesterday I just snapped and told her how it was and that either things were going to change or I'd quit. she thankfully, apologized and realized how I was feeling so she immediately made a few changes. I apologized too because regardless of my emotions I should have been more respectful. I recently started a homebased business selling spices and cookware again and I am so excited to dive into it.
Any testing coming up/any recent results? Not exactly coming up but November 19th and the bf is coming with and he's convinced the Dr will tell us I'm pregnant. I keep trying to explain that that's not how things work. I might ovulate on the 14th or around then or i very well might not. its a mystery.
GTKY? What are your favorite TED Talks or podcasts? I'm trying to get more into podcasts but I havent really found many I enjoy yet. I have adhd so its really hard to concentrate lol. but I do love the teen mom trash talk one !
