Hello all, thought I'd introduce myself because I am interested in Chit Chat and want to contribute to things not necessarily birth or baby related! Just a bit of background on me. I was a member of the Knot a long time ago, BMB April 2014, and have rejoined again in TTCAL very recently. I've also been lurking in TTGP. I'm an American living in London with my husband and LO for our jobs. We've been here two years and probably will be here for another two. When we are not living abroad we usually live in New England.
Hope this is okay and let me know if not.
Hope everyone is well and hope for some good chat.
Yes, we are loving it! There are definitely some days I miss the US and some days I'm glad we live here. I know that will be moving back in two more years so I'm trying to enjoy living in the UK as much as possible, because I'm not doing this kind of move again!
@radiohd18 I’m an American living in the UK as well but my move was permanent as I married a Brit. I’ve lived here temporarily before but only for 6 months at a time. Any advice?
@jackie_dunsford hello, there! what kind of advice are you looking for?
Moving to any new city is always an adjustment. The first six months here was the hardest part for me because we were trying to get new bank accounts, find a rental, get my kid settled with a GP and a nursery and start a new job. If you are married to a Brit and he's already settled here, you may not have an issue settling much at all!
But, once you are settled, England is a lovely place with great people.
