How many kids do you already have? Ages? 5 yo DD, 3 yo DS
How are your other kids doing this week? Great! DS turned 3 this weekend and it was the first party that he got really excited about. It was just our family but we had a blast! Looking forward to trick or treating with them tomorrow.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Starting to get huge. I need to go shopping to stock up on more work friendly maternity clothes. Just signed up for a maternity stitchfix. We will see...
GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? I would do what I do, engineering. I love my job.

How are your other kids doing this week? She's good. We made a trip to the ER on Friday after she missed the last two steps at daycare as we were leaving and landed face first on the tile floor. She was back to her normal self Saturday morning.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Is anyone else tired all the time? No matter if you get 8 hours of sleep or not? I thought my energy was supposed to be appearing?
GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? I would work part time for an animal shelter. I would use my other time to stay home with the kids.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? N (DD) - 8 months
How are your other kids doing this week? N's doing well! She's had a cold, but it's finally getting better. And - after MONTHS of coaching from my husband - she just started saying "Dada!" With "Mama," it was clear almost immediately that she knew what she was saying - or anyway, she doesn't know it's ME yet, but she knows that I respond to it, so she'll say it very purposefully when she wants or needs something. It's clear she doesn't have a purpose for "Dada" yet lol, but I'm not about to tell my husband that!

GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? I would be a writer. The only thing that prevented me from writing was job security - not exactly guaranteed for a novelist, and because I always knew I wanted to have a big family I'd have to support, that took precedence.

How are your other kids doing this week? Okay, typical toddler ups and downs. She was super excited to spend the day with nana and papa when I dropped her off this morning.

Blerg. I still feel icky. And my contract at work was apparently up but they extended it another month. I’m getting tired of waiting for a permanent position.

How are your other kids doing this week? She's good. Super sassy lately but that's been the usual for a few weeks now. Really starting to push her independence
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? Nothing too much this week. Excited for trick or treating tomorrow but it's a blah kind of week
GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? I would be a doula or a midwife specializing in home birth or at a birth center. I've been weighing it a lot lately and wish I could but the money isn't equal to what I make now and it would be too much of a burden for me to switch at this point in my life.

3. She’s sleeping so much better. She had several teeth coming in plus a cold a couple weeks ago so this is a welcome change and I feel much better for some rest. She’s also a bottomless pit. Constantly saying “eat? Eat?” every few hours it seems like.
4. Nothing really. I just can’t believe it’s almost November!
5. I would probably blog or write. Or be a perpetual student, if that was somehow a paying job.

Also H got back from a business trip last night after missing the worst of our son's illness and was exhausted and damn near useless after staying at a football game too late the night before. He's lucky I didn't send him to his eternal resting place to catch up on that sleep. Rave: I'm excited for little man's first Halloween today! Question: Did any of you take your kids trick or treating before they were a year old? I'm fine with walking him around the neighborhood but I don't think it makes sense to ring doorbells with a kid who's too little for candy. Am I being a grouch or am I right here lol?
GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? Can I get paid to be a SAHM? If not, I think I'd maybe want to write - not books but shorter pieces like articles and blogs and whatnot.
We dressed her as a lobster her first Halloween and sat her in my moms big stock pot for pictures ...cutest thing ever. I put on an apron and had some tongs in my pocket, easiest costume I’ve had.

We took the twins out last year and I think they made it to 3 houses before they just wanted to go home and eat their candy. The year before I didn't bother taking them out.

How are your other kids doing this week? Doing great. They were a bit mad they couldn't wear their princess dresses to dayhome today.
Rants/Raves? Concerns/Questions? I've had some pulling and tightening on the sides of my belly. I'm thinking it's nothing - just stretching and growing but it stops me in my tracks. A few heart palpations too, but I think those are fairly normal to experience.
GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? I would want to stay home with my kiddos. That's ultimately the goal after this babe gets here.

Toddler being a toddler. We went to the aquarium and she lay down on the floor when she didn’t want to go in my chosen direction. Eight times. She wants the attention/reaction so she runs away instead of doing whatever she’s supposed to do. Also, several teeth coming in 🙉

another (travel) writer here. Who would get SO much more done if drop-in childcare was one of those benefits.

Going to be late and waking up early, and the time change is this weekend. I’m a little nervous to see how this goes. Otherwise, she is needing much more attention lately, and it’s exhausting.

Im tired of reading the same books 50 times daily. DD prettt much needs my distraction all the time or she yanks my hair.

Hmm- I would love to be a child life specialist at the children’s hospital! Such a rewarding job to have!

How are your other kids doing this week? She's great. We're currently riding that high of too much candy + tv, both of which aren't a regular part of her day, lol.

GTKY: If the income/benefits for all jobs were the same, what would you choose to do for work? I mean, I'm currently a SAHM + nephew wrangler. My profession is preschool teacher, which has very low pay and not so great benefits. Most things offer better or lateral movement from there, lol. I would love to move out to the country and run a farm. DH and I joke about that being our retirement plan.
