    I see my regular OB tomorrow and my MFM Wednesday for another weekly growth scan. They increased my insulin last week and I'm still having troubles with my fasting number, so I'm sure I'll be increasing again this week. When I asked my MFMs thoughts on inducing sooner if we keep having to increase (based on something an OB (not my reg) said to me), he didn't seem concerned. Only said it's something that's typically done for women whose "numbers are out of control". But to me...having to continually increase and see no change is out of control...am I wrong? I plan on talking to my regular OB tomorrow about it, she was out of town for my last appt so I saw someone different.

    I had a growth scan and appointment Friday. Everything looks good! Baby girl jumped a bit from 35th to 40th percentile so that was a relief. Previously she had dropped pretty significantly so I was a little worried. Other than that my doc is happy and since baby is still breech (no surprise here), she’s letting me schedule the c section and having them call me to schedule. I feel good about that and I like knowing when the baby will be here especially since we are moving and it’s easier to plan that way. The only bad part was that we had to bring dd with us to the appointment (dh was there too) and she was terrified every time I left her sight and when they took my blood pressure. I was surprised she reacted that way! She is usually not very fearful but something about doctors really freaks her out. Lucky me gets to bring her for her flu shot tomorrow.  :#

    @rosebud332 ugh we've been meaning to take DS for his flu shot for weeks...I need to do that, it's just so hard with work! Which I know is a lame excuse...I may call the drs office and see if they've got a time when DH is able to take him when he gets off, they get off work/daycare before I get off work so it's easier for him to take him. Good luck with DD tomorrow!! Maybe give her a special treat after the shot? Let her know ahead of time that she'll get something? It's been so long since DS has had to have a shot of any kind so I'm not sure how he'll react  :#

    @CecilB93 I have no excuse for how long I’ve been putting this off as I’m home and could have brought her any time! If I’m being honest it’s because I hate calling to make appointments haha. I wish I could promise a treat or something but she doesn’t understand that yet. :/ I’ll just let her watch some Mickey Mouse when we get home or something. That always cheers her up!

    @echo-charlietango one thing I've heard about early bottle introducing is to make sure you use the slowest nipple possible and to do paced feeding to mimic the amount of work they usually have to do to get milk out of the breast. Once they realize bottle is faster and easier, you risk bottle preference. I've also been told to not use the bottle feeding to skip pumping/emptying breast as frequently as possible in the early weeks so you dont risk decreasing your supply. Boobs are smart and learn how much milk you need by how often you empty it out! 

    Hopefully our actual pros/STMs can jump in and give more insights.

    @hoosiermama-2 glad your first NST went well! Will it be like that (waiting for the doctor to check you) every time? My first was in my doctor's office (well it was supposed to be, they gave up after 10 minutes of trying because baby kept moving away from the monitor) so I had a check up with her too afterwards but for the rest I am going to the MFM office at the hospital. They have a nurse dedicated to just doing NST's all day long and it was so much quicker.

    I’ve got my biweekly appointment with my OB and ultrasound later this week. It’ll be with my regular low-risk OB, whom I haven’t seen since before my hospital admission in August! The other OBs I’ve met with have been great, but they all sort of put off the bigger decisions (like setting an induction date, deciding when to discontinue progesterone...)  to my regular OB. I look forward to making some concrete plans this week!

    @CecilB93  I also feel like I don’t have my GD in control, since I continue to have high fasting numbers and keep having to increase my insulin. At the same time, I’m still a bit in denial because my baby has measured 25th, 35th, and most recently 28th percentile in the past few weeks. Isn’t GD supposed to make baby huge if it’s out of control? I’m just confused (and hungry!). 

    Yay for BF class, @echo-charlietango !!!  I took a BF class solo and a childbirth class with H. The hospital showed us the same BF 
    video during both, which made me feel like I didn’t need to pay for both classes. And the instructors said contradicting things. One was like if you’re taking the year off (which many of us Canadian mamas are) you only really need a pump if you have a preemie, don’t waste your money. The other was like they’re great for establishing supply, bring it with you to the hospital when you deliver so the LC can show you how to use it! I’m going to follow the latter advice, especially since the pump is covered by insurance anyway.

    Re "bottle preference" - I don't know a single mama who has had this issue. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Obviously doesn't mean it can't happen, but as long as you're using a slow flow bottle, I wouldn't worry. We used the Medela special needs feeder for the first few weeks because that's what they gave us in the hospital [there's some kind of magic that makes it baby-led flow or something]—probably overkill, but hey, they gave us a free one [retail is like $25?].
    It was great that H could feed her from the get-go. My unsolicited advice ends here :D: just embrace the pump. I felt married to it and it was what it was. Being a devout pumper was a little annoying at times but overall, it was more than worth it for me. I had a great frozen stash and donated hundreds of ounces to babies in need. 

    @lippy625  Yes, it will be! They schedule the monitor and then put me on the doctor's schedule 30 minutes after my start time. Depending on how her schedule is running is when she'll be in I suppose! She did say to let them know when I was in a hurry and she will do what she can. :D This assumes baby is always cooperative! I might've had a muffin before heading in to make sure he was active, haha.

    @scaredunprepared Granted, childbirth classes aren’t exactly a party, but he will definitely not be the only dad  there.

    @scaredunprepared I think that's perfect that he is coming. I think us moms do a lot of research and know what to expect, while our partners just wait for us to to tell them what to do. Well, that's not always going to be possible while you are giving birth (you're not going to explain every step to them). So these classes are great to get them some basic info so they can be a better support system for you.

    @katy0990 I can feel really strong rolling movements, but I can't actually tell if he's flipping. The only time I have a general idea of which way he's laying is when he has hiccups lol.

    @katy0990 @CecilB93 On a similar note, it felt like baby was doing one of those headstand spin tricks (like a hip-hop dancer) last night. All I felt was legs and elbows (or head?) sweeping across in one direction. Now I have no idea which way she's sitting!
